Very welcoming on reception. The room was cosy, clean , fruit provided lots of different drinks options, good clear guide to hotel facilities, even magazines about bristol and the hotel had a really good relaxing atmosphere with a very good breakfast |

Staff welcoming, approachable and flexible. Coffee shop with wifi was fab, just downstairs, nice atmosphere. restaurant food a bit limited but good to have it to access so easily. Please put plenty of low fat milk in your rooms in future - I hate full fat. |

The staff were friendly, and the loose leaf tea provided in the room was really good The room had a very strong musty smell, and there were no curtains. |

Nice to have fruit and tea and coffee in room. Shower was broken and far too small with a useless shower curtain. Everything really old and tatty for the price you pay. Bed not comfortable. |

I thought the location was very good. the staff were very curteous. It was great to be able to park the car. It was noisey. The extractor fans in other rooms sounded late into the night. There was a beer delivery first thing in the morning. |

Friendly and helpful staff Room was on the small side and bathroom was very shabby. Drinks in the bar were very expensive and the cafe closed nearly two hours earlier than stated time. |

I thought the staff were extremely helpful and the hotel was excellent value for money. Being so close to the university was very good. |

It was the easy access to the centre of Bristol and University which attracted me to this hotel. |

It is convenient for the University where I need to work. The breakfast is good. The staff are always friendly. The car park (garage) is a great asset. Wi FI availability is also a plus. I have yet to stay in a single room that I thought was really comfortable. The last one I tried was incredibly cramped. The one before that there was nowhere to put my laptop sicne the tissue biox had been secured to the middle of the desk area. I have now decided to try a double as a single. |

Very pleasant staff, chatty without being over the top. Bar/restaurant downstairs was very nice and cosy, perfect when pouring outside. |

The staff were very courteous and helpful. The caftieres in the rooms were an excellent idea - so much better to be able to make fresh coffee and tea. |

The Irish receptionist was fantasticly polite & helpful. The bed was terrible. The springs felt like they were sticking into our backs. The worst night's sleep for a long time. |

Staff are lovely. I have stayed 3 times and consistently high standard and friendly. Nice rooms and lovely touches like fruit. Yes! I like Clifton hotel & a regular - I work in Bristol but not live there. This time I was in Rm 45 and it was really noisy from the quiz below - during the night the DJ/presentor became more and more loud and so did the crowd. Really loud! People on my corridor were talking about it at 10.20pm so I offered to phone reception (I know they are brilliant). He went & sorted it but it took until 11.30pm to settle and when people are working on a week night this was not fair. (I have stayed in the room before in the summer and loved the sound of the bbq nights coming up so am not anti-noise!). I did tell the receptionist in the morning - she is lovely. I would still book - and recommend it - but maybe not quiz night! |

Staff were helpful and pleasant. Continental breakfast was excellent and hotel was well located for the places I wished to visit. I left my dressing gown behind and staff were extremely helpful in locating the item and have made arrangements for its return. |

The hotel was situated within walking distance of the shops and restaurants on a relatively quiet road. The bars and sitting areas were pleasant. The room was very small, the 'tent' canopy on the side was ugly.Parking was difficult on nearby streets and the hotel should include parking in the room cost. |

The manner of the staff, the quality of the rooms, the beds and the fittings were all poor value for money so I would say that this hotel has nothing to recommend it at all. Late on in the evening I had to ask to be moved to another room as the noise from the patio attached to the bar below was very intrusive. The next room did not have this problem but suffered from very noisy pipes throughout the night. The beds were very poor quality and proved extremely uncomfortable. My partner and I slept very badly. The room was not very clean - for example there was dried snot on the wall by the beds and in the bathroom by the sink. The breakfast was also poor value. There was a limited choice and the orange juice was undrinkable as it had a terrible chemical taste. Avoid this hotel at all costs. |

Great location. Hotel had character. Room compact but with nice touches - a caffetiere for coffee. And fruit. Breakfast was an additional cost, and a bit basic and overpriced. |
