Lovely staff, bright and welcoming lobby, relatively comfortable bed, high ceilings, nice little tea/coffee tray, huge fluffy towels.

Tiny bathroom (no bath, only shower), shabby and battered interior at odds with the modern exterior, narrow window, room described as "spacious" but that was only vertically!

    Very friendly staff

Tiny room, staff smoking area immediately outside ground floor window. Nothing major, but the price was comparable to a Mal Maison or Radission (outside London) and the hotel didn't have the boutique-charm etc. that I expected in that price bracket.

A nice touch with the "eat me"/ "drink me" labels on the fresh fruit and cafetiere. Clean, soft towels and comfortable beds.

The attention to detail was lacking. A bit tatty all round. The shower needed a serious descale and the fan in the bathroom a serious clean out. A shame really as it could have been really good room with very little outlay. The room was very hot and stuffy, although a fan was provided.

the friut, fresh coffee and tea in bedroom. Friendliness/helpfulness of staff.

I had a room on the ground floor, in the basement is the restaurant/bar consequently on the friday night I got very little sleep as there was very, very loud music from a private party.

Check in was quick & Racks bar beneath the hotel is good

Room was very small, struggle to get into the shower due to layout of room & lack of parking make this hotel quite expensive for what you actually get. Probably needing a refurb & a little more thought as to layout of rooms rather than cramming them in!

Desk staff were very cheery and helpful. Short walking distance to both town/waterfront and Clifton with it's great variety of delights, from funky shopping and eateries to the amazing Brunel Suspension bridge. Also secure off-street parking.

The hotel is situated in the green and wealthier part of Bristol Clifton with a nice sourrounding - parks, villas. It´s easily accessible with numerous buses from the city centre and train station Temple Meads. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

In the basement of the hotel is a public bar and restaurant with a terrace. So it gets very noisy in the evening until late. The room/ bed was small, the furniture, bathroom, blankets are old, used, smelly.

Really friendly staff on reception - very helpful and welcoming Great bar downstairs with good food Good location for Clifton with lots of restaurants and shops nearby Fruit bowl and real coffee in rooms Comfy bed A fan in the room! Pretty good value for single room

Bathroom really unclean on arrival (which reception staff did resolve quickly) and this was also the case in other rooms of friends who were staying. Hotel is quite old - not a problem in itself but some parts now looking quite shabby (ripped fabric on desk chair, paper coming off walls etc) Poor shower - low pressure and hard to control temperature (but this is no doubt due to age of building)

The staff were very friendly and helpful. I liked the service. The bar was lively and interesting.

Narrow corridors - our room was at the back of the hotel on the top floor (3rd floor) - we had to walk down 2 narrow claustrophobic corridors to get there. It was very hot and stuffy in the room - we had to keep the windows open wide to make it bearable to stay there. It was cooler outside than in the room. This hotel is value for money but I'd rather stay in the hotel when more refurbishment work is done. Too pokey- no space anywhere.

The staff were really helpful and polite. The breakfast was very good and the fresh coffee and fruit in the rooms was much appreciated.

The room really did need air conditioning. Although an electric fan was supplied the temperature in the room was so uncomfortable making it impossible to sleep
