The food was delicious with an excellent choice. Lovely uncrowded swimming pool.
Was not impressed at being accommodated above the function room with a 1 year old - sleep was impossible until 1am! Also the soft play area wasn't available at all (perhaps a sign on the door would at least inform guests of opening hours?!)
Meals and service were absolutely superb and our 7yr old boys had a fabulous time especially in the pool. Cant wait to return.
Family room was quite noisy as it was situated on the first floor although we soon got used to that.
Main meals ok. Bar meals poor
Poor entertainment shocking
Food was terrific.Facilities excellent and staff first class.Parking was a bit of a problem but there was room in the local streets.Slightly further from town centre than expected but tram and bus stops outside hotel overcame this.Had a great time.
location was good, breakfast was good and morning staff were good. Evening time and entertainment too geared for children which can be expected at half-term but it went on till well after 11 pm.
Room was small and the bathroom a joke. Once in you had to back out and once seated your legs were together (should make a good postcard scene) Anyone with above average stature would be having very serious problems bordering on health and safety
Good size, very clean.
The heat! My room was far too warm. Toilet was like a sauna.
Excellent hotel, food very good,
As it was Scottish half term we were rather over run with children, , couldn't get on the dance floor with kids running around till 11 30 at night, also the swimming pool was the same, I would probably use this hotel again but making sure there are no kids on holiday at the time.
The pool and evening meal
The staff could do with been trained on how to smile and be friendly, no cups on table at breakfast, filthy cutlery had to ask for it to be replaced which didn't please the staff, all they seemed to care about was numbers and no personal touch at all,no hello, how are u? To me having a friendly face makes all the difference. Parking was non existant very few spaces and staff were no help in advising anywhere to park. Definately not worth the price, stayed in cheaper and been treated like we were wanted.
Everything Pool Sauna Breakfast Dinner Room Kids Club
Nothing Two Nights Just not long enough
parking and noise of banging doors on corridors late at night ..
We paid extra for a seaview room and got a room with a tiny window the bathroom was last updated in the 1970s and the bed was extremely soft. The food is mainly by buffet and at times hot food was cold and very stodgy, breakfast was limited and if you didn't want a cooked breakfast there was little else. The hotel is very noisy with children running feral and creating lots of noise in corridors until the early hours. Overall a disappointing experience.
We liked the view we had from our room and the breakfast was fantastic
The bathroom was terrible my husband had to use the toilet in the leisure area because the toilet was so near the bath ,something has to be done about this, it must surely be a health and safety issue !
The staff, especially Dean, could not have been more helpful! The hotel is a fair distance from the main hub of Blackpool, but the trams run regularly. Be aware that they get very crowded when the illuminations are on. Our room was comfortable and clean. Food was good and the help yourself system works well. We arrived on a Thursday and felt we could easily have been in a care home. On the Friday and the weekend it occasionally felt as though we were staying in a crèche! The Cliffs cates for all ages.
There is only one lift and at peak times the wait was in excess of 10 minutes. My wife is disabled and using the stairs from the third floor was not possible. We were amazed that families with very young children using high chairs did not bother to pick up food that had fallen or thrown to the floor. The mess was just left for very busy staff to deal with. The lounge was fairly comfortable but needs more sofas. Some guests felt it was acceptable to park large cars right outside the entrance, causing problems with getting to and from the footpath.
Facilities, entertainment, dining experience.
The room was at the stairs and was very noisy through out the night. It seemed to be where people congregated on the 3rd floor to chat before they went to their rooms. One man made a lengthy phone call in the early hours...trying to reassure his wife he was alone (don't think his girlfriend would have appreciated it). Also the noise from lobby seemed to echo up the stairs. But would stay again if I had a different room.
Nothing was too much for the staff - they were extremely helpful and polite. The breakfast was spot on, the snacks in the bar area were lovely and the dinner was reasonable. The starters and deserts were amazing but the main course reminded me a little bit of a really fancy school dinner - nice but not quite restaurant quality but for the price we paid it was very good. The pool and Jacuzzi were lovely. Very clean and warm and towels, soap and a hair dryer were all provided free. The kids club was great too.
It was quite dated in areas but it was very clean and for the price and for our needs it wasn't a problem. The lift was REALLY slow and quite small. At checking out time I waited around 15 minutes before it came. The only big negative I have is the staircase spindles. I am guessing it was put in before the more recent building regulations where the spindles must be a maximum of 10cm apart so a child can not get it's head stuck - here there were huge spaces where a child could easily climb fully through! As we have a 1 year old we were with him at all times but all it takes is a curious toddler! The family next door woke us up every day with their loud kids screaming and running around at 7:30! I know this isn't the hotels fault but I thought I would throw it in anyway seeing as this is the things I didn't like section!
Excellent food friendly staff
Good selection of food on the breakfast and evening meal buffet. Waiting staff were very accommodating.
The carry cot provided wasn't long enough for our 2 year old grand daughter.
liked everything! from when i walked in to the friendly helpful staff, lovely clean room, food was delicious! and evening entertainment was great! pool etc was lovely - what a great experience-def be recommending to friends and family! went there for my 50th with my mum -tram stops right outside too!
nothing i didnt like
food was superb.
toilet is in an imposible position to use.this is no joke. it is enough to stop us comeing back.
Reception Rather Small
clean room, plenty off hot water good breakfest
Room very hot but fan was suppleyed In dinning room in morning(not hotels fault) childern allowered to run around could cause accedent my husband told one child off who was climing over food cabnet parnents did not seem to bother , may help if this seen for staff to have quite word
facilities, pool,food staff, all excellent
beds not the best very cheap mattresses
breakfast had good choice and well presented
having stayed before we were disappointed with the room and the decor.everything in the tiny bedroom creaked and the cleanliness of the room was fair at best. luckily only stayed one night
the staff are very friendly, cant do enough for you,the hotel is spotless.the food is amazing, great value for a 1st class stay and I wont be booking anywhere else from now on ,well done to the management team ,thankyou
nothing to dislike ,just leaving
Great hotel but was let down by other guests who complained about the noise my 2 year old made. One man even shouted at him to 'be quiet' because he was excited and screamed.
Other guests who forget that it is a family hotel so there will be noise from children.
