people are taking someone else beds, so you have to sleep in the first available. door locks are very loud when opening/closing, which is not helping when you tired and want to have a sleep. shower and toilet cabins are really small. Kitchen is also too small.

the bunk beds are too short for people 180cm and taller. Uncomfortable. No place to hang clothes. Not so nice; place could do with some renovation.

This is a very nice hostel. We stayed for 7 nights in a triple room, with a triple bunk bed. The room was small but comfortable. There was a wardrobe and a washbasin with a medium size mirror. Also, the hostel provided a tea and coffee set which was actually very thoughtful since we didn't need to go three floors down to the kitchen in order to have some tea etc. The cleaning lady hoovered the floor of the room and emptied the waste bin almost every day. We also got some clean white towels at the beginning of the stay, which was a surprise 'coz we thought that towels were not included. Our room was on the last, third floor however there is a lift so we didn't have to walk up and down all the time. The kitchen is awsome. It's big, with all the equipment needed and it is clean. There is a nice common room with tv. Continental breakfast was ok: plenty of jam, salted butter, bread, sometimes cheese, milk and 4 types of cereals. Plus, there was hot milk, cacao, tea, coffee etc. The breakfast is between 7.30 and 10 and on weekends there is also nutella :d The staff is very friendly and helpful. We had problems with our key cards and they have replaced them immediately. Bathrooms were clean and comfortable. There was always toilet pauper and soap. Showers were ok too. There was a problem with lift. It was broken, however after a few hours everything was back to normal thanks to helpful staff :-) There is no free wi-fi which I consider as a big mistake. I understand that they want us to pay for the usage of PCs, however if you have your own device then it should be free of charge. Nevertheless, it was not such a big problem. Free wi-fi access in London is not so hard to find. Also I think that they should do something with the room doors. It is almost impossible to close them from the outside of the room without making a terrible noise. It was very disturbing especially in the morning when some of the teenage groups staying in the hostel were checking out. On the 3rd floor, there is no girls' bathroom. You have to walk downstairs, to the 2nd floor. Also, during breakfast the kitchen is closed for individual use. This means that you cannot cook on your own and there is always someone form the staff who is preparing the breakfast and washing the dishes. On the first day of our stay, Sunday, there was a male Spanish staff member who seemed to be very rude. He was reacting very aggressively to anyone who came close to the "staff breakfast-zone". He didn't let some guy to take some stuff form the fridge... I think it's a bit weird... On the other hand, for the rest of our stay, the kitchen stuff was very helpful and friendly ;-)

Staff at the reception was amazing the polish guy repiring stuff was friendly as well wifi there was hot water 24h a day thats great especially when yuo go for a business trip No ventilation in the room if the windows were closed, it was very humid and a bit stinking.. staff in the kitchen was kicking people out in the morning very rude way, which is not OK if we pay 20pounds or more for the stay including very limited breakfast, would be nice to finish the toast in peace in the morning.

The staff is nice, the hostel is very clean and new refurbished but, the rooms, at least mine, they dont have lockers. Like most hostels in the big cities in western europe , is a completely rip off. The value for money, like in most hostels are so bad. They take lot of money from budget travellers, and also, they change the price of the room every day. I think that paying 40 euros for a simple bed in a simple room that you are going to share with 4 more people is a completely ripp off, so expensive if we think that if we sum up the money we are paying the 4 people together, it is like 160 euros!!!!!!! For a small and so simple room...it is outrageos, but it happens in more hostels in western europe, travellers, we should do something.

The staff was really helpful and amazing. The location is also perfect, short walk from King`s Cross and the Picadilly tube line which takes you to the main attractions in London. I didn't use the kitchen much, but when I did at night, it was quite messy. Also, I would have loved to have Wi-Fi in my room, I think that's really important in a hostel.

Book 261 in last minute for my ad hoc trip to London. So surprise that there is still possible to have a bed within city centre at 10 pounds cost. Do not want to spend too much for 1-night stay, so choose 18-bed room. Communal space is great, and the staff are friendly from checking- in until checking-out. Well, it is a cost-effective accommodation for the last minute for me. I booked another clink hostel which is only around 5 minutes by walk from this one (I think the name is clink78). I prefer the other one than this one in general, however, it is a little bit pricy, also. Regarding clink78, the 18-bed room is obviously not your first choice if you plan your leisure travel well in advance. I cannot judge other room since I never stay there. But the 18 one is only so-so, no charge sockets in the room at all, so have to charge digital devices in communal room. A big room but less effective heater (only one side of the room), which made me feel quite cold at night (Feb 2013). The roof is translucent glass, which means if you are allocated to a upper bed, then you may have 'opportunity' to see the morning sunshine at first glance even without the 'help' of room light ;). The breakfast is so-so, but it still satisfy me since the 10 quids including the breakfast. The 'continental breakfast' is generally always the same wherever you stay within the uk. Above all, a great short-stay with a convenient travel route in city centre, but not recommend to live either in 18 room or for longer stay. It seems that upgrade room is a good alternative if you really wish to choose clink261. P.S. No internet (cable or wireless) at all in the hostel, so you cannot rely on the instruction listed via booking webs. The staff told me (Feb 2013) the hostel did not provide internet any more (free or payable).

Clink was very nice hostel, really good value for money! Stuff was excelent, there are useful utilities like a luggage room, breakfast was surprisingly wealthy and showers clean. Although very close to St Pancras station really quiet during nights thanks the windows into the courtyard. Recommend it! Tiny bedroom, a creaky bed
