Great atmosphere! People were very open and I met several friends who I'm already planning to visit. Over all the hostel felt very young and cool, and was located pretty close to Camden which was an advantage when you went to the clubs there. Next time I go to London, I'll definitly be stating there again! Having to check out at ten o'clock

Lovely sociable atmosphere. As someone who often travels alone I was delighted at the quality of the premises for the money and its daily social activities so I'll definitely look out for other Clink hostels when I find myself travelling again. Check-in till 4am very useful too for people at weddings (as I was) or arriving from the airport.

Helpful staff were constantly on hand, and the travel shop person was particularly helpful. Really it depends on the guests. Most are very considerate, but I had one disturbed night (Saturday) when people arrived in the room till late, switching on the light when some guests were already asleep. At 3am someone came in with a member of staff to sort out a place to sleep.

Great location for the purpose of my visit. I was on the 4th floor and it was surprisingly quiet during the night. Had a great sleep both nights of my stay. It's a hostel, so obviously just has the basics, but I think it's nice and well maintained. The breakfast could be a bit more diverse - more than just orange jam and some hard boiled eggs would be nice as well but other than that the staff is doing a great job.

They have a very nice tourist information center. Very noisy accommodation and the private room was really small. The shower had a timer of few seconds.

Great location, great price for budget travellers exploring London - the hostel is usually near full for those very reasons! Breakfast is provided and the facilities are favourable - you certainly get what you pay for! Clink78 is ideal if you just need a place to crash at nights after a busy day exploring. Not that I am complaining, I enjoyed my stay but Clink78 but it is somewhat crowded!

Haven't stayed in hostel accomodation for a while but this was a good experience. I stayed in the shared female 10 bed dorm. Room was tidy and the toilets and showers well kept. Fine for £18/night.

Good spot for backpackers - somewhere just to lay your head. No frills. Lively disco in the basement with bar staying open to 2 also Stayed in a 10 person dorm. Someone was sleeping in my allocated bed on arrival but after getting one of the helpful staff to assist we realised the girl had jumped into bed C instead of bed G. No real problem - I took hers and all was well.

Friendly staff. The design and decoration of the hostel. The white sheet and pillowcase which shows it's clean. Nice atmosphere in the bar. It's quite a nice place to hang out in the bar at night. Limited place to hang my coats up. WIfi is not free. The wifi fee is a little bit expensive.

I really enjoyed the location and, in general, the accomodations. The staff couldn't handle the younger kids who were at the hostel. Very noisy. Couldn't sleep the first night and we had to go to the pharmacy to buy something to put in our ears so we could sleep...!

I liked the breakfast area and facilities and thought that on the whole, rooms were clean and well equipped. Staff were friendly and never appeared dismissive or hurried (quite uncommon in a London hostel). I particularly enjoyed chatting briefly with the American girl in the travel office who was pleasant and informative. hmmm, I was allocated a bed with a Chinese family and they all went to bed at 11pm and got up en masse at 6.50am - Very awkward!! I realise this isn't the fault of the hostel but it did see a bit mismatched; Perhaps single travellers should be given rooms together? Also, the 'Youth' aspect of it could be tomed down a bit, 'Clash Bar' etc. I mean c'mon!

just 10 minutes from the King's Cross. There is a Barclay's hiring bycycle stand right outside the hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. The heating system in the room is not working properly...it's so sad in the cold weather.

The in-house bar was great, pod beds were pretty cool and the travel guide on the ground floor was extremely friendly if not all that helpful. The breakfast service included in the cost of the room was great. A good selection of cereal and jams. Quite a few things: 1. Forget a hot or even warm shower. I tried showering early in the morning and late at night. Both times the water was cold. 2. Showers turn off by themselves every minute and you have to restart them. Very annoying. 3. No sound-proofing. Extremely bad considering my room was right outside the bar area. Unable to sleep from 7pm until 2am. 4. Bed was very uncomfortable and hard as a rock. Pillow was at most 8cm thick and I had to sleep with the pillow laid over my bag. 5. Room was pretty dirty and didn't get cleaned until my last day there. 6. Hostel approximately a 15 minute walk from the tube station. 7. Toilets next to my room were filthy and stunk. 6. Had to put your own sheets on the bed when you arrived. 7. CANNOT BRING IN OWN ALCOHOL. I had brought some duty-free to share with my roommates and it was confiscated.

value for money, great breakfast (included!), it was not noisy as we afraid because of review and our room was next to the hostel bar, affordable prices in hostel bar (for London), travel services in hostel - it is possible to buy all tickets there, it was clean - we had private room - we even have daily cleaning like in hotel – I think it is great deal

My 30-years old daughter and I used to stay in hotels in London. So we did not have any experience in staying in hostels for backpackers. However this time we decided to try a budget stay. The experience was excellent. Although I am not a youngster, I did not at all feel uncomfortable or embarassed even sharing a room with other travellers. Breakfast were very good choice and nicely served. Self-catering facilities are also excellent. We were very happy about cleanliness in all common areas. I was even surprised how staff could manage it with so many travellers coming and going. Excellent job. Staff at the reception are very friendly and ready to help in any way, much appreciated. The signs and the whole atmosphere of Clink78 is fun and helps to relax. I'd certainly recommend Clink78 to frinds and would stay there again. The shower facilities, despite being shared, are very clean and nice. We only wished the shower water had run for longer periods.

We were living in an ensuit room for three and it was almost perfect! Simple and clean, it was a good deal for the price that we paid! Probably this hotel is highly recommented to students, group of friends who wanna have fun even if they are tired and they wanna stay in the hotel! "Uplifting" place! P.S. very good breakfast and daily events! For those who have difficulties with their sleep will find it more difficult there... Because of the voices / sounds from other visitors late at night (even if they are trying to avoid that), but if this is not a problem for you... Just visit this hostel!

“The staff was friendly, the room was clean and everything worked just fine! The lockers were big and the room had an own bathroom with shower (which was extremely clean all the time). The location was also very good, not far from the Paddington station. I can recommed this hostel to everyone, I stayed in the six-beded dorm (I wanted to be in a girl-dorm and that was arranged) and even though my roomates were kind of loud sometimes I enjoyed my visit very much. The view from he 6th floor was wonderful.” Heidi, Joensuu |
