Staff mixture of poor to excellent
We have a small baby and staff were helpful and accommodating throughout. Fantastic food in the main restaurant. Nice views and good pools.
Club room maybe could do with sprucing up, it lacked a bit of atmosphere when we went in the day. Maybe have another person on reception at busy times.
Friendly, quirky staff. Elegant and luxurious rooms. Wonderful walks down to the river and around the gardens.
Wonderful location and great staff. Michael the concierge was so lovely to us, as was Andre in the Club House. Made us feel very welcome, and the children loved it whilst I managed to have some grown up time. What a place! Lovely memories.
A wonderful hotel, my last stay here was about 20 years ago. That was excellent and has lived in the memory but I think everything has improved since. Service, facilities and staff were first class and the meal in the Andre Garrett restaurant was sublime.
The price but, even saying that, i think it was good value for what we received.
Lovely grounds and beautiful setting. Restaurant food was excellent.
Pricey. Probably not great value for money considering.
Impressive and historic building, lovely staff. Our renovated room in the stable wing was very comfortable and well-appointed. The champagne cruise on the Thames was superb, as was the spa with its glorious heated outdoor pool and hot tubs.
Very, very expensive one-night stay. The breakfast was average, cooked food whilst good was charged as an extra. Odd bits are a little shabby.
Driving up to the front door and staying in a stately home with excellent food. Walking around the grounds, down to the river.
What an experience, absolutely faultless. Staff supberb, room stunning! Dinner was absolutely divine, and what a setting. Can't wait to go again.
Location, location, location. Great walking opportunity around the grounds. Excellent food.
River cruise with lunch Dinner at Andre' The accommodations The atmosphere The overall experience
Cocktail and coffee service in the evening and morning respectively was slow in the great room (lobby). On each occasion, I had to get up to ask someone to serve me. Even then, it took longer than anticipated to serve the order. In the morning (Sarurday), I also observed another couple that had to get up and find a person for coffee service, despite the numerous staff walking through the great room (lobby).
We were looked after well from the moment we arrived until we left.
Cliveden is a very special place...being made to feel "at home", if only for a short time, was great.
Leaving....and summer not turning up early so we could swim outdoors more!
Friendly staff, spa & pools & hot tubs, views, Club room food, beautiful house, walks
No outdoor heaters, meagre breakfast, charge for newspapers, giant kiddies' slide
Perfect for a birthday treat.
Tea and coffee making facilities not available in the room.
location is just wonderful, one of the best places in the UK. The park, national trust land, is breathtaking. Staff was superb, very helpful and attentive. Very friendly with my son too. Our room was very large, beautifully furnished and will all modern facilities. I would definitely recommend Cliveden House to anyone
Everything was exceptional with super attentive and efficient staff (the best staff of any Relais & Chateaux hotel we have stayed in over the last 30 years). First class stay over.
If I had to choose something, I would say that the entrance room (where reception is) was a little dark
It was a haven away from the world like stepping back in time. The facilities and staff are second to none, nothing is too much to ask for. The whole experience makes you wanting more
Staff are excellent. Place is exceptional. Service is immaculate.
Unfortunately, when we were there, Cliveden House is undergoing some restoration exercise, thus, we didnt really able to see Cliveden House in its whole grandeur
The whole experience was fantastic. A great way to start 2014.
Loved the attentiveness of the staff, without them being pushy. The room was well decorated and well maintained. Huge comfortable bed. Food in the Club Room delicious with a lovely relaxed atmosphere.
Staff in the spa had b.o. Breakfast was supposed to have a "sumptuous buffet" but I have seen more choice in some Holiday Inns. Cooked breakfast okay, but nothing special. Had to wait 10 minutes for coffee after I sat down. Delay checking out.
Beautiful and historic building in a dramatic setting. Most of the staff were great and very accommodating and they tried sorting out any issues quickly (there's a new GM) Lovely pool area indoor and out Clock tower restaurant was fun and very relaxed with charming staff. Boat trip was worthwhile Wonderful views from rooms in main house
Staff in the spa were chippy and messed up on bookings with no apology! Hotel and rooms are beautiful but dated and in need of refurb. Our bathrooms didn't have showers. I understand the new owners are now investing heavily, so I'm sure will improve dramatically. Has the potential to be incredible. Rooms on the front were uncomfortably hot!
