The room was damp and was located in a sepetate building from the main hotel it was more like a dos house.
My bed was not clean! On pulling back the quilt cover.. The sheet had human hair and dirty marks all over. I went straight down to reception to complain and was told " no other rooms were available... But the bedding would be changed". The price was very high for the basic room I had. I would not return here again.
The hotel is near to bus and train connections. It was great to start the day with a cooked breakfast and cereals etc. There was plenty of tea/coffee in the rooms. It is an old fashioned B&B, very friendly staff and the whole place was very clean. I would stay there again.
willingness to help; good food, served on time.
I was satisfied with the service.
the quite location
the annex rooms need a refurbish and a face lift
The location, staff and value for money were excellent for our festival weekend! We loved the inclusive breakfast! Even though it needed a major update we appreciate that it was kept clean.
The hotel needs a major update. Furniture and decor is very dated but I can't really complain for £26 per night
smell in rooms, smoking
Room and bathroom was clean and tidy, great choices for breakfast and the staff are all really nice and helpful.
Staff were friendly
Place was old and was in need of modernization
Very helpful and friendly staff.
Staff were amazing.
The corner house was filthy, stunk of cigarettes as I walked in. No information about the two different facilities on booking
Bed was quite comfortable and the room where we had breakfast had a pub-like atmosphere. Staff at check-in was very helpful and polite :)
The staff serving breakfast was not exactly friendly and when we checked out, same thing. She might have been upset about working on Easter Sunday, but hey.... Also, the sink wasn't clean.
Staff were friendly
It was dirty, slug trails round the bed, other guests sick in the communal bathroom everywhere (including walls, floor, towels, ceiling, bath tub, sink and loo) which the staff didn't clean up untill the next morning, and even then it was still everywhere. Blood on my furniture, furniture dirty and chipped, matress filthy, pillows disgusting (thank god I took my own) I almost slept in the car because it was so horrific. Carpets worn and filthy, and the stink of wet dog in the room was over powering. I had booked a non smoking room, only to arrive to find that all the rooms were smoking which added to the stink.our rooms were not even in the main hotel, but 2 doors down the road! Basically do not stay here if you value your health and sanity. Disgusting.
Close proximity to my meeting.
Very pleasant lady who greeted me in morning and made the breakfast.
If you stay in budget rooms do so if you have no where else to stay . I was so glad to leave Room was so old I thought I was in a horror film.
very good basic place, but only stayed one night so just what I wanted, shared bathroom but it was good and clean. breakfast was really good you got cerial, toast and a cooked breakfast. help yourself to tea, coffee, and juice.
Very busy road so I would ask to stay at the back next time.
The staff are so accommodating, pleasant, they attended to us like we are family. they are all lovely.whenever we come to UK again we will definitely stay in hotel.thanks to all the staff
The layout/decor/facilities were excellent! Staff professional yet friendly and the cooked bfast was lovely!!
My only criticism was for a room with three beds there were only two blankets which of course i gave to my childten. Unfortunately it was a cold and somewhat unconfortable night for me..
For the price it offers excellent value for money. No frills but all the basics and a great breakfast.
SMOKING ROOM BREAKFAST
Price and location. great value for money and easy access to a train station.
I was expecting more choice at breakfast; the continental breakfast did not include any fruit or yoghurt.
booked a smoking room & a non smoking got 2 non smoking. no disabled facilities or ground floor rooms for disabled.stairs very steep.
Nice staff gd breakfast for budget accomodation. put us in annex lucky to get downstairs room as I had broken leg!
Down stairs toilet no sink & not in room but upstairs had bathroom facilities but couldnt make the stairs cause of broken leg. Lucky I was with friends 2 get some water in kettle .
