Nothing really. We arrived in the dark and we weren't really sure which door was the entrance but, it turned out, you could use any door. So maybe some 'Entrance' signs? However, this certainly was not a problem. We really enjoyed our visit.
I brought my mother here for a birthday treat whilst we explored the Durham and Ripon. We had a super experience at this hotel.
When we arrived we were greeted by David who offered us the chance to sit in the living room and enjoy fresh ground coffee and home-made cookies (delicious!)
Next we were each shown to our lovely, spacious rooms which both included large bathrooms as well as dressing rooms. The rooms opened directly to the outdoors so there was no noisy corridor to endure, ensuring our stay was exceptionally quiet and peaceful. Everything was very clean and comfortable. Good wifi too.
We enjoyed a lovely evening meal here and a great breakfast. Being vegetarian myself, I was particularly impressed with an imaginative vegetarian menu for the evening meal. Furthermore, I was even given a vegetarian breakfast menu - great! (Being a vegetarian, I'm unaccustomed to 'choice'!) Mum was also impressed with her meatier menu.
David and Heather (proprietors) clearly have extremely high standards and are experts in hospitality. I'd recommend this place to anyone who is visiting the area - for business or leisure.
