Very friendly staff
Breakfast left in room not very appetising - rather stale croissants in cellophane. Unfortunately couldn't stay for breakfast in main Inn as had to leave before 10am. Rather shabby decor.
Opposite bus stop to Winchester &Basingstoke. Stayed here because near to our daughters. Local shop nearby. Could either have continued continental breakfast in room or cooked breakfast in pub. Needs to state this on info.
Quite cold. Needed extra heater but should have asked for one. Mentioned on leaving and apologised that there wasn't one.
Very good value for money Pub. Food excellent & very good value & staff very nice & helpful Would recommend & would stay again
Continental Type breakfast in room, although inclusive, was not the most appetising, though fridge was a nice touch. Room was lovely & big, but as very cold outside, could do with more than 1 x Heater in it (Bedford)
Friendly staff, cosy pub, good beer, accommodation good and really good value. Starters were excellent.
Lasagne main course was missing seasoning, and tasted bland as a result.
The food was good. The manager tried to help us with our food intolerances.
The accommodation was pretty "tired"
Went for a weekend away with my partner and stayed here for a night and we really enjoyed ourselves!! The staff were lovely and wonderfully helpful, the room was large, incredibly warm and gave a good amount of coffees, biscuits and even a selection of cereals and croissants for breakfast. The room was basic but suited us fine as it was just a night stay. Food from the pub is excellent, really hot, tasty and good serving size. Really recommend for a weekend or night stay.
There were only a few things I would note and these are not of major significance. The water pressure of the shower wasn't great, there were only a few cobwebs in the room and there was an indentation in the plaster of the wall in the bathroom (broke through the plaster and made a hole) made by the door handle. Nothing that affected our stay but worth noting.
The staff were really good, everything you want in the room, location for us was perfect, and value for money,
Staff very helpful
Beds very hard and the room needs a good clean
Size of room Quality of food Very quiet at night
Nothing to dislike
The pub is just great, with the nice little fire place and welcoming staff. The room is very spacious and comfy
Maybe the bathroom is a little run down, though it's absolutely clean and comfortable
Large Room, Pub food
Room a little Musty
The room was very good large plenty of room If you were staying more than one night the pub was very nice
I thought it was full English so I was disappointed with the breakfast we had planned to eat dinner there and told the landlord earlier but when we went in to the pub to eat we were told they were fully booked in the main dinning room and were directed to a small room that was already occupied by other people who had a dog with them so I declined to eat there and went elsewhere
Room was lovely. Disappointed with breakfast.
Very friendly welcome Quirky style rooms are motel style in old thatched fire station building. Pub handy for food after late arrival Basic but ok for a stopover
Huge room was very basic but adequate
Staff were helpful and friendly. The food was well above average for a pub. Excellent real ale selection.
Breakfast doesn't start until mid-morning. Not much use to the business traveller. Could maybe reconsider this?
Very well equipped big room with its own door. Good continental breakfast left in room. Heating variable as required.
Wi fi was known to be only in the pub but one had to complete a form with personal info to access and agree to terms. That should be improved. Secondly the bathroom is large but the shower head needs de-scaling and the whole shower operation checked. The skirting boards in the bathroom look rotten and the lighting in it needs to be stronger. Not a great problem but the bathroom and wifi should be fixed as they let down the whole visit. Even so a very cost effective stay and having the pub on site with pub food is an advantage.
good food fast service, nice location close to Winchester
rooms are in need of painting and upgrading, new curtains as these were torn, bedside lights tatty. very dark in room, had to keep lights on even in the day, general updating
Easy to find location, good food, large room & en-suite, nice continental breakfst in room with fridge etc, good parking - lovely old traditional pub with great atmosphere.
There is a little damp in the bathroom wall which could do with treating.
Staying in a former thatched fire station was a real novelty. The room was enormous and the bed was king size and very comfortable. The pub was very homely with a good selection food available in the restaurant. Don't be put off by the relatively low price to stay here. It is an absolute bargain.
A bed you could actually sleep like a king in
This is the third time I have stayed at the Coach and Horses. This obviously speaks for itself. I would stay there again.
Unfortunately there was a musty/damp smell evident when the room door was opened. The quality of the room cleaning was not up to the standard which I expected, but was adequate. Some upgrading would help.
Own key could come and go as we wanted
Although the room was very clean it had a musty smell needed airing. A large bathroom shower and bath needs updating. Continental breakfast adequate but disappointing, the room was very spacious so small table and chairs could have been fitted had to eat breakfast on settee or bed
we liked the size of the room, the beds were comfy, the warm welcome from the staff, there was plenty of parking. The small fridge in the room was handy and the continental breakfast which was left in your room was very welcome.
The décor needed to be refreshed. Paintwork was chipped. More thorough cleaning required as there was cobwebs and perhaps a more thorough hoover in the corners of the room.
Room was musty and dirty There were noticable maintenance issues Having to try and sleep with people from the pub shouting, swearing in the pub garden after the pub closed
