Friendly welcome. Help and advice with our plans for visiting local sights and particularly our boat trip to the Farne Islands. Excellent breakfast. Lovely room with tea and coffee making facilities and home made biscuits!

There was nothing above average I'm afraid

Unlit pathway from road to front door u/s but barricaded at top not bottom. Check in time impractical but no real problem being late. Bathroom radiator wouldn't work Cheque/cash only. Very convenient for A1

Room was cold

The location was lovely. Our hosts greeted us, helped us with our luggage, and even provided freshly made brownies! What a treat! The view from our room was gorgeous -- we looked out onto horses and sheep frolicking in their field, and even had a distant view of a castle and the sea. Our room was clean and very comfortable.

The restaurant options in the area were very limited. The place that our hosts recommended was close, but the service there was slow and not great for a family with 2 little kids. I can't hold that against the Coach House, except that there weren't any other good options close by.

This has to be the best B & B we have stayed in. The room was well appointed, immaculate, with a lovely view. The breakfast was great - substantial and well cooked. The owners were exceptionally friendly, without being intrusive. I would highly recommend The Coach House, and will definately stay with them again.

Very friendly welcome. Very accommodating – we arrived early as we were going to a wedding but they managed to let us in to our room to get changed, and gave me a lift to pick-up my car from the wedding venue the following morning. Excellent breakfast, using local produce. Fresh ground coffee and a cafetière, plus a flask of fresh (not uht) milk, and shortbread biscuits in the room. Would definitely stay again.

Tracey & neil, along with their two adorable little girls were the most welcoming hosts on a very dreary summer's day! The coach house is a beautifully restored building with oodles of charm and character. The attention to detail is superior and the facilities are immaculate. Offering a perfect rural retreat with recommendations of local fine dining and a constant rustic view of open fields, horses, chickens and sheep that my little boy loved! Personal service exemplary and little touches of homemade flapjacks and an expansive, outstanding breakfast to boot! The hosts company and stories were also a delight! Such lovely people, clearly perfect at what they do.

Enjoyed a very warm welcome, comfortable room with high-quality fixtures and fittings and great breakfasts in a location very handy for A1 and lovely coastline. Although right next to A1 we were not disturbed by traffic in the least thanks to double glazing and traffic being relatively light up there. Really appreciated the attention to detail such as delicious homebaked biscuits, every day! Highly recommended.

This is a lovely guest house within a stone's throw of the A1 and yet in such a pretty and peaceful setting. The owners are really friendly, its like staying with the family. Our double room was very roomy and bright. Fresh milk with the tea and coffee in our room, home made flapjacks and some sweets all added to the comforts.

Only the tiniest request - plastic bags inside the bins would have made me feel happier about using them!

Fantastic hospitality and great facilities

Fabulous helpful couple, running a bijou relaxing bed and breakfast, ideally located close to the a1 with a feel of total relaxation and isolation. Great breakfast using all local produce.

Really friendly and warm welcome with both Tracey & Neil happy to give lots of advice on where to go and what to see in the area. The room was very comfortable with particularly excellent tea & coffee making facilities and the breakfasts were great. Would thoroughly recommend to anyone visiting this part of the country.

Handy stopover for our trip up to Edinburgh. Lovely friendly welcome, beautiful room and relaxed atmosphere.Excellent value.

The owners were very attentive and charming, and made a big effort to make us feel comfortable and well looked after. They promoted and provided us with useful information about the surrounding attractions and in particular the neigbouring gastronomic delights. The home baked flap jacks were a nice touch upon arrival.

Some people might find driving to the nearest pub restaurant for dinner a hassle, but it was not an issue for us.

My daughter and I stayed here as we were going to Alnwick Castle the next day. We were given a warm welcome, the room was a nice mix of the traditional and modern (I thought it be nice to come back here on a romantic weekend..). So many thoughtful little touches, for example a cafetiere and fresh coffee in the room. There were horses and sheep in the field opposite and we watched 2 very young foals running about! This is a lovely little place, would like to have stayed longer.

Very friendly people. Good facilities and a high standard of decor. Good location, easy to find with off road parking.
