The food was very good, excellent choice at breakfast and good evening meals. All the staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was very good. I was a bit disappointed to learn later that I could have booked B&B + evening meal for less than £4.00 more than I paid for the room & breakfast. As it was I ate in the Coach House every evening but this was not reflected in my bill - I paid full price for just one course (between £7.95 & £9.95) It might have been clear on the website but I didn't notice it. Would have been nice if it had been pointed out when I arrived.That is my only quibble |

The Coach House Hotel has lots of character, the staff make you feel really welcome, the food is excellent and within walking distance of all the tourist places. We had a lovely view of the Minster. Climbing up several flights of stairs as there is no lift. |

We really enjoyed our stay at The Coach House Hotel. The staff & service were excellent. The breakfast sets you up for the day! The beds are very comfortable & nicely dressed. We had the carvery on Sunday & the full menu on Tuesday & couldn't fault it. Would recommend this Hotel & would stay there again. |

Staff very friendly and helpful - nothing too much trouble. Excellent meal in the restaurant. Parking is very cramped (as one might expect in York) but cars were expertly and carefully moved by the Staff |

The location was excellent, the room was comfortable, especially the bed which we wished we could take home with us Not being told the code to the door was on the back of the key fob, and the not so late bar being shut when we returned for a nightcap at around 10.45 pm |

The location of the Coach House was very good. We only ate breakfast but the food was also good. Room too small - disappointing becasue we had booked a larger room. Room also a bit tired and in need of upgrading. We also had an unpleasant experience with the waiter in the restaurant who was very unhappy about us going straight into the restaurant and not waiting to be seated, This was a 8am in the morning and we were restricted with time to catch a train home. |

This is a really nice comfortable pub with rooms. We had a twin on the ground floor and my friend had a single upstairs. They are small but this is a pub and we didn't expect large modern chain hotel rooms. If you want to sit and read there is a small lounge area by reception. The parking is tight and you have to leave your car keys with reception. Need a light over the side door where you gain entrance after closing. Could barely see to put the code in. Might have been something to do with alcohol though! |

Staff were nice and friendly, coffee and cake in the afternoon was a nice touch. the television was on top of a high shelf with no remote so I had to stand on a chair to turn on and change channels. Floorboards in the room above were so creaky I thought the person was going to fall through the roof! |
