This place is so close to being perfect, I've only very small criticisms! I always prefer to sleep under a sheet and blanket, rather than a duvet, but no blankets were available. The outdoor fire (at the front of the hotel) looked nice, but the acrid smoke was unpleasant (I'm not sure why they bother with it, rather than gas heaters), but it was no concern once I was in my room.
I asked for a quiet room, and was given a delightful, east-facing room that looked out over the park at the back. The whole hotel is being renovated with a great eye for detail (and a suitably botanical theme). I was in a newly renovated room and it was perfect! Excellent coffee maker provided, lovely bathroom, very comfy bed (feather pillows can be provided on request). The restaurant is also excellent (good food, nice selection, nicely decorated with fresh flowers on every table), and being able to have breakfast in my room was delightful. Very helpful, friendly, prompt staff. It's a short walk away from Kew Gardens (Elizabeth Gate), and this place is ideal for anyone wishing to visit the Gardens. Really appreciated being able to leave my luggage for the day in a secure room. NB that there is a Sainsbury's on the other side of Kew Bridge (and doubtless other shops are close by, but I didn't really look). There are cheaper places available, but none so convenient to both the Gardens and Tube - nor, I suspect, as nice. I was very, very happy to have stayed here. (PS the food at The Orangery in the Gardens is excellent too).
