As usual, nickky is always very friendly and nothing is too much trouble for her. My room was nice and warm, and everything worked fine.in the morning, breakfast was nice an no problems here. On leaving the hotel, getting a taxi wasn't easy but she didnt give up trying to get 1 for me. I always stay here after meeting my friend so am ready for the trip going home. Taxi to/from here from station, is around 6 pounds so still very cheap getting here.

It looks unpromising with no real bar, and all the lights were off on my admittedly early arrival. But the woman in charge was charming and helpful and the food she cooked in the evening was superb. As was the breakfast. Ideal for me in terms of an overnight business trip stay where I don't want to join in anything. secure carpark too.

We were able to check in even although we arrived just after 9am. Had a meal at night in hotel, it was very good value for money and tasty. Breakfast was fresh and warm. The room was really warm, despite it being really cold outside. Taxi into the centre of the town was only £3.50 The hotel is in need of upgrading but the bed was lovely and clean and very comfortable. Ok for a short stay

Excellent and very hardworking friendly staff. Very large and well equiped room even for a single. Great smoking terrace available close to room so no wandering outside in your PJs. Scrupulously clean. Great flat screen tv with freeview. Plenty of tea facilities. Good inclusive breakfast choice. Comfortable bed. Would stay again.

I have stayed in many brand name hotels, however most lack the homely feeling that the Coaching Inn provides, although an older building which could do with a little tlc in parts, the building has character and the staff are extremely friendly and cater for your every need. The food although from a standard menu is plentiful, hot and delicious. If I am ever in Wigan again it will be my first choice for accommodation.

This hotel was ideally situated for the purpose of our visit, although not the closest to Wigan if that is your chosen destination. It had a large, secure car park. We were welcomed warmly and treated well by our host at all times. The room was clean and comfortable; it overlooked the road but had double glazed windows to keep out the noise. It also had a very effiecient heating system. The breakfast was good. The value for money delivered by this hotel is exceptional. To benefit from this, however, guests need to remember that this is an old building with lots of rough edges. It is not (thankfully) a Premier Inn or similar faceless hotel chain. We will definitely stay again!

I had a quiet comfortable night away from the noise of town-centre pubs and clubs. I think that the name 'Hotel' is confusing - it's geared to b & B.

The staff were very friendly and helpful However the hotel has seen better days and needs Alot of money spent on it to bring it up to date because The building is lovely Things we didn't like we're the dirty brown water from the taps Before it clears. The loose floor boards which you think your going to fall through The noisy extractor fan in the on suite and most of all The damp smell in our room

The limited staff that we met seemed pleasant enough and were reasonably helpful. The hotel was adequate for my needs as I'm a former soldier who completed 22 years colour service and was attending a Regimental reunion being held at the dw Stadium in Wigan. All I can say is I'm glad I was there without my family as I really felt like both the interior and exterior were extremely tired looking and in need of some much needed tlc. The quilt covers looked like covers you would find in an old people's home, this may sound harsh but you can pick up very cheap but modern looking quilt covers from any large supermarket and a lick of paint wouldn't go a miss! If the hotel had this makeover it would be a huge improvement!

After informing the owners I arrived early to see Wigan v Bolton, they were more than happy for me to leave my bags and even let me into my room. Had a great chat with David who was very knowledgeable about the area and made me feel right at home. Will go back just for the friendly owners

The staff were very friendly and welcoming, the hotel was lovely and quiet and the room was great for the price. Definitely great value for money especially with breakfast included. Also very clean and a safe place to stay. I would definitely recommend it to people and would happily stay there again.

The owner makes Basil Fawltey look like the politess man in the world. The late check in, 4pm. is awful. asked if it was ok to leave our bags, because we said would it be ok, refused to let us leave them there. very rude and aggressive man, in fact also quite strange. When he wouldn't stop being rude and I shouted & swore back, he threw me out and refused me entry. went back 4 hours later and had to plead to be allowed to stay, as wouldn't give us a refund and couldn't get accomodation anywhere else.Would not recommend, or ever stay here again

Nothing totally disgusted with this so called hotel. I found the photos of the hotel on the internet greatly totally misleading the place was filthy, the bedding filthy and would not allow even an animal to stay here. The pillows were beyond disgusting and fit only for the rubbish tip. Did not go down for breakfast after first visit the hygiene standard was less than zero. It had a notice saying it was a thrre star venue, what I want to know is which playschool gave them 3 stars. Never again lesson learnt!!!!!!!!!
