Staff are very friendly pleasant welcoming they are a credit to the hotel bed was very comfortable free wifi tea/coffee in room.very bright and aired room.breakfast was not to bad.extenal view was excellent gardens and pond.whole hotel was very clean and welcoming
No bad experiences, but the hotel would be more appealing with a couple of changes of carpet (bar and restaurant carpets are tired) and a lick of paint here and there.
Location. New clean bathroom with fluffy towels. Large comfortable bed. Very good well informed, courteous and helpful staff.
Unfortunately we were woken up in the early hours by some young girl and her boyfriend at 3.30am who seemed to be roaming the corridors and having loud conversations without much thought for anyone trying to sleep, I confronted them on two occasions, but although they were quiet for a while, the intermittent noise went on till 5.00am. I wasn't aware there was a night porter, and I wish I had alerted him to this, I told reception in the morning, they were very sorry but I realise it wasn't their fault, we had a nice free pot of tea which we thank them for, very considerate.
We were visiting family in the area and this hotel was fine for our overnight stay, perfectly adequate and a nice relaxed atmosphere, staff were very courteous.
Wifi was poor then a notice popped up on reception desk they were having teething problems with new provider.
Far away enough from main road having window open didn't disturb a good nights sleep
The free Wi-Fi was really appreciated by my teenage son.
Impossible switch on the heater. There isn t toilette brush in the bath. The waterpressure in the dush is low.
Clear. I got what it is offer.
Lovely and clean and comfortable. Just a bit further outside Colchester than expected. A car needed. Would definitely stay here again. Wish we could have walked round the lake but it said private and we weren't sure if we could
I worked nights so I asked for a quiet room and not to be disturbed , so I was delighted at the care all the staff took to help I had a uninterrupted 2 days sleep the best place I have ever stayed in down the south east
Perhaps could be signposted well as you come off roundabout. In the dark I missed turning and had to travel for a few miles to get back.
Easy and quick check-in/check.out. Clean and comfortable even though basic. Nice staff.
Staff not great, un professional and dressed untidy, advertising free WI-FI, but didnt work
It done the job, overnight stay at very cheap price
Bedroom carpets need cleaning or replacing.
Free wi-fi. Room rate.
Convenient for Colchester and good value.
Shower power is weak.
Spacious, clean, value for money,quiet.
Comfy beds, clean rooms, good wifi. Staff welcoming. Didn't use bar or restaurant so can't comment on these. This was our second stay and we would return again.
wine with dinner was a little more expensive than I anticipated but the quality and presentation of the wine was very good.
staff were all friendly helpful and efficient - food was excellent quality and bedroom was comfortable and warm. Bulb needed changing - fixed in under 10 minutes.
carpet was ripped and outdated loads of stains. They were changing companies during our stay so hopefully new company spruces up the place.
bed very comfy and quiet and peaceful room
We haven't had any breakfast so I don't know how it is (amounts or qualit), I just know that was a crazy expensive price to have it.
Everything really good.
It was very unfortunate but your wifi was not working for the duration of my stay
As your wife I was not working for the duration of my stay a very nice young woman who was on duty at the front desk went out of her way to secure my boarding pass for my flight the next day. I was flying with Ryanair and she was unfamiliar with the booking procedures but managed to do it anyway. I was extremely impressed with her and very pleased it would have cost me 75 pounds sterling to book it in person at the airport. A good job very well done many thanks Lillian
Hotel is probably in need of some updating eg, painting and decorating as well as new tables and chairs especially in the bar and restaurant/breakfast areas. The menu for the restaurant was poor and the food quite tasteless and overcooked. We waited almost 40 minutes for our evening meal to be served despite the fact that there were only 4 other people in the restaurant who were already eating when we ordered.
Nice friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable clean room and bathroom. Bed was very comfortable and bath towels were good size and good quality. Good value for money.
The food was over priced (microwaved) bed was so uncomfortable you could feel every spring! The whole place needs a good revamp! Uneven carpet.. Etc. Noise pollution was bad! No lift! Which is not good when you have a pram and have to climb nearly 2 flights of stairs! The list goes on! Breakfast was appalling! All the food was in one tray dropping with grease and very watery! We went mcdonalds instead! Wouldn't wish this place on my worst enemy!
the Breakfast could do with a bit of updating
The Staff & room are all great & parking is good
