Size of room. Plenty pillows. Near to town centre. Over looking lake. Friendly staff.
Shower pressure was a bit low. No biscuits with the tea/coffee.
Good customer service with a smile. Very helpful.
Breakfast was fine but poor quality food for the evening meals.
Breakfast was good
Location cleanliness ease of parking with plenty of space Greeting by reception staff
I wrote to the hotel with ref to a number of quality issues. Broken thermostat window catch not useable noisy cistern on refill loose toilet seat leaking gutter outside our window (it rained heavy during the night) had to change rooms because orig key did not work (119 to 117).
My second stay ( am from Normandy, France) shows I had already appreciated this hotel . I really like : The kind welcome of the staff The comfort of the room The very good quality of the meals and good choice at breakfast
The hotel was a little difficult to find 1st time ... but Colchester is so complicated as for driving ...
Peaceful location; very free and easy; good places to eat close by; excellent wi-fi
Thought the food in the restaurant was a bit pricy, so went to eat at local Toby carvery instead. Would have eaten in hotel if a bit more reasonably priced.
The staff was friendly and helpful
Good value for stop-over Nice pub just 100 metres away
Comfortable room but basic
Staff were not overly friendly but were efficient
We liked the location - it was easy to get to Central and also to the seaside.
The bed was very uncomfortable - dead flies on the wall and in the curtains - marks on the wall - rust in the bathroom.
Value for money. I received a room where I requested which was much appreciated, thank you. Excellent, friendly and happy service from the hotel staff.
Good parking. Rooms were okay but standard. The barman (and manager?) was very friendly.
We had been travelling all the way from Germany on a motorbike and learned After our arrival that we couldn't eat in the hotel restaurant because they had had a group booking. We managed to obtain a few sandwiches (most toppings sold out, though) but waited forever for them to arrive. Got a free bag of crisps, though ;)
Room was pleasant,as were the staff.
In the past we were disappointed with the limited provision flor the disabled. (Only a smoking allowed room).
The receptionists were very pleasant.
The restaurant menu is very limited; unlike the Ramada of a couple of years ago. The one evening meal we had (as a family was dreadful; almost as though the 'chef' did not care. They did at least reimburse the cost of the meal. For what is served breakfast is very expensive.
Bed was comfortable. Breakfast excellent
In the first room the toilet flush was broken. in the second room it smelt of stale urine and the shower was broken. I gave up asking to be moved again. Dinner was poor- burger was over cooked and tough but again it was so late gave up asking for another.
the extra pillows and towels.
Everything was good about the hotel
Reception staff, esp Danielle who was extremely helpful.
The bed - the only bad point but quite a major one - was just awful, really saggy and uncomfortable.
view of lake from room room and provisions staff manners Hotel facilities, general cleanliness.
Chef failed to turn up so not able to have full English breakfast as ordered. Carpet noticeably worn in room
Comfortable room and bed. Slept well
Breakfast advertised but no menu in room
Good location to visit family in clacton
Wasn't clear enough before we arrived that the restaurant was open. Felt the food was little bit pricey but it was ok
Very friendly staff who booked us taxis and were available even late at night, great value for 2 nights
