Quality Hotel Colchester  

The staff were OK

The hotel was apparently going through a refurbishment although we saw no evidence of this. The double bed was pushed against a wall so very uncomfortable for the inside person. The hotel had the wrong name outside so it was difficult to find. The food was very basic and cooked in a microwave. The whole place was very tired and we couldn't wait to leave

It was a comfortable room, easy to find on the outskirts of Colchester but near to the main roads

The washing sink and bath were old and a bit broken down. It was just an old room in need of a revision.

the fact we complained about having ants in our room and the staff moaned about having to move us room. They say that there undergoing new work on rooms but when I looked at every room while they were getting cleaned they all looked the same

The price was good ... Endless hot water for a shower, quiet and peacefull ...good black out curtains ....

The double bed , we rolled into the middle all the time ... The toilet didnt flush very well had to play about to flush it

A decent hotel at a reasonable price in the north of Colchester. Clean and comfortable, no complaints.

The hotel has recently undergone a change in ownership, so a bit of refurbishment was going on, but nothing that detracted from the comfort of my stay.

the matress was very poor.you could not sleep without rolling into the middle.A few people complained of this.they need to sort it out.

Overall staff friendly and helpfull a couple were a bit short on customer service however. The room was clean although no remote controll for the tv and no heating in the room but the hotel corridor was heated to the max!!

The Breakfast - very cheap ingredients used but pleanty of toast/cereals fruit jusice etc just the cooked breakfast was not enjoyable at all

Staff were very friendly & helpful apart from one when I had to ring to say I had been overcharged. She tried to defend their/her error rather than just say sorry & refund the £10.00 for a breakfast we did not order or take!!

The hotel overall is looking very tired and worn out decor wise. For example- the wallpaper in our room was peeling everywhere and the tables at breakfast looked dreadful. Cover them with tablecloths and no one can see their poor state. However the hotel was very cheap cos it was an offer. If I had paid normal price I would have been very disappointed.

Hotel poorly sign-posted. We ended up going miles out of our way because we missed the turning.

Very dirty room, no reaction to my complains to replace a very dirty chair, no adequate heating (thermostat was not connected and a 15C was the highest temperature in noon. Very gold at night. No surv cameras for the parking lot so could not found who scratched my car there in their front door.

Raw breakfast - neither the sausages or eggs were cooked (raw in the middle) which was not a good experince for someone who is 34 weeks pregnant. Smell - ground floor corridor had an awful smell of stale cigarettes. Lack of well appointed plugs in room.

The hotel breakfast was excellent and the staff very helpful and friendly. Very good value for money, we have stayed there before that is why we went back.

The hotel is looking a bit tired and there was a crack in the toilet, also my husband is very tall and hit his head in the entrance of the room on the lightshade.

The hotel is in need of some TLC and a serious upgrade to justify the nightly rate.

The Hotel is good value for money and worth a visit. The disabled room was excellent warm and comfortable very quiet, very spacious large bathroom with low sink. excellent to get around the hotel from room to bar/ restaurant and the parking space. The hot cooked Breakfast served to the table was excellent. very helpfull staff.
