It was handy for what I intended to do in Colchester and it was cheap It needs better signage - I didn't see any signs that referred to Ramada. I object to having an imprint of my credit card taken when I have pre-paid for the room. I was told it was "company policy".

The allocated room had been used by a smoker. The staff immediately and, without question, moved us to the Garden Suite, which was superb. The Restaurant staff were most helpful & approachable making the visit a memorable one.We shall always book this hotel whenever we are in the area...

Value for money at the time, New Years Eve onwards for three nights Arrived new years eve to be told that no food or room service was available as the party that night was the only way to obtain food. Was directed to nearby pub.

The room we stayed in was clean and tidy. Bed was comfortable. And travel cot was clean. We dont have a car so we had to walk everywhere. It was a hour walk to the city centre. Getting a taxi to the hotel from colchester was £10 each time. Also the served breakfast in the hotel but I would say it was to pricey. £11.95 for a full english!

The carpet was very worn, the bath panel was cracked and holed! It took two days to notice that the box of tissues in the bathroom needed replacing.

The stay was fine, fairly basic but apart from that it was comfortable enough. When requesting WIFI they indicated it had been out for some time, poor service for travelers/ business people trying to clear a backlog of work.

Very helpful and obliging staff. It would be most helpful to have a room safe for valuables as is the case with most other European hotels in which we have stayed.

Staff very friendly, rooms clean, beds a bit to soft for me as I have a bad back. Meals very good also good value. Thought cooked breakfast was a bit costly, but again very good. Had about twenty guests staying, s over for family wedding, all thought was really nice and would stay again.

Good location for a family party. Nice dining and bar area. Friendly staff. Rooms are a little tired and the hotel could do with a refurbishment programme. Bed very soft and dipped towards the middle.

Location and a soft bed. I could not gain access to my room without the Staff's help due to the door electronic lock being faulty. The bath plug was partly blocked with hair and the extracter fan in the bathroom was clogged with dust.

The car park is quite large and the hotel is next to the a12. I thought the place looked tired. The food was ok but quite pricy, most of the other guests seemed to eat off site, as the restaurant was almost empty.

All Staff were pleasant. Cannot comment on bar or restaurant as we didn't need to use them on this occasion, but they both appeared to be well laid out and comfortable. Good atmosphere whenever we walked through reception. As we said on the card we left at reception you definitely need to renew your mattresses, We were in Room 118 and the mattress was appalling. We were fed up with fighting the 'sag in the middle' all night!! It was a shame as we had no complaints otherwise, The wall paper needed replacing but that is probably the sign of the times. Th answer to the question below is if we were guaranteed a decent mattress we would have no hesitation on returning.

Easy to find. Pleasant location and relaxing. Reception very efficient, pleasant and details ready for us as soon as we approached desk. Room clean and every item we needed for our overnight stay was there. We did not have time to checkout food or leisure facilities as our stay was to visit friends. No problems at all. We would stay again.

It was very quiet at night for sleeping, easy to get to, from the By - Pass. The breakfast was good, cooked nicely and plenty to eat, if that was what you wanted. I will be writing direct to the hotel about the things that I did not like

Booked non smoking room, but after the airfresher faded the smell of past smoking was very strong. Our order for breakfast was wrong twice but we had no time to try for a third time and some of the food had obviously been left over from the first attempt and was not hot.
