Fabulous,
Score from 73 reviews
“ Fabulous atmosphere and on entering the hotel you can tell that the owners have put their heart and soul into making it as nice as they can - they have succeeded too. Great rooms, food, service - I could not find any fault. ”

Well linked to the M5, this 15th-century manor house stands in 4 acres of gardens, with glorious countryside views and a rich history. Collaven Manor is in the North West of Dartmoor. Built of granite and covered in creeper plant, the manor has a traditional English feel. Enjoy flowerbeds, birdsong and spacious lawns where you can play bowls, croquet or enjoy Afternoon Tea. An intimate bar-lounge offers winter log fires or cool summer shelter, while the Hamilton Restaurant serves the best of local and home-grown ingredients. The bedrooms at Collaven Manor are full of character, with wood-beamed ceilings and spectacular views over Dartmoor and the surrounding countryside. You can even choose a room with a luxury four-poster bed. Hotel Rooms: 9, Hotel Chain: Recommended Hotels. The most recent booking for this hotel was made on 17 May at 16:08 from United Kingdom.

A wonderful little manor house hotel, very personally run by the delightful owners. Good, but limited choice and fairly expensive dinner, fabulous breakfast, The rooms are warm and comfortable and we very much enjoyed our stay. An excellent and peaceful location to explore the whole of Devon.

It's situation, public rooms, ambiance, good food and service. Only that the single room was very cramped, archaic bathroom fittings with a tiny bath. Poor quality of decor, pine doors, not in keeping with a splendid manor house. Noisy kitchen fan woken up at 7.15 AM. Insufficient parking space when fully occupied. Driveway very narrow in places.

It is a delightful find and we hope to return for a longer stay. The hotel is a country house and it feels like being at home. There is a sense of warmth about it and great effort has been made to add little extra touches. Breakfast and dinners are excellent.

A delightful 15th Century manor house with links to Lord Nelson that has been maintained to a very high standard. The bedroom was very comfortable with great views towards Bodmin Moor and the setting is very picturesque. Good choice for breakfast and evening meals, all well prepared and presented. Excellent location for walking on nothern Dartmoor.

It was away from traffic noise and nice and quiet. Very restful, just right as we were passing through. A good base for touring Dartmoor, which was not our intention on this occasion.

We didn't think hotels like this still existed in England. It had character, a good restaurant, comfort, parking on site, easy access to Dartmoor and tranquility. All staff very friendly and helpful. The garden and views from bedroom were lovely.
