Columba Hotel  

A lovely hotel with an old world feel. Situated right on the harbour front with fabulous views out to the sea with islands and sunsets. The staff are helpful and friendly and let us leave our bags after check out while we wandered around Oban waiting for the ferry. Close to Oban distillery and the tourist office is part of the same building complex. A good Scottish breakfast with a variety of cold and hot options. A couple of lounge areas from the front public bar through to a quiet loft sitting area with lovely views of Oban as the sun sets. Easy parking helped make this a lovely stop.

Room looked out at the back and had a view of derelict buildings - not great!

The views over the bay were beautiful. The breakfast was served buffet style but was good and plentiful with plenty of choice

The meal we had in the evening was pretty poor quality. It tasted like it had come from a freezer shop. The hotel decor was pretty tired.

Poor 1st Impression of room 219 Room looked more than tired Bathroom terrible Spent little time in room, dark, dreary felt let down had stated in another 3 Oban hotels previously. Bad choice this time.

Terrible smell on the landing the 1st day. ferry engines right outside room. asked for a large double bed got 2 singles pushed together. windows so dirty could hardly see out them and safety catch hanging off. Parking only for about 8 cars the rest have to pay and display.

Proximity to everywhere in Oban, the food, the pleasant rooms and facilities and friendly, helpful staff.

A very ricketty old fashioned type lift, with doors a bit hard to pull to.

Superb shower and facilities in the bedroom, breakfast staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast bar layout of what was on offer one of the best I've seen!

The sea view, large room buffet breakfast. The kind receptionist moved us to a room with a view thankfully as the room we were given was meters from the busiest road in Scotland.

Not so comfy bed, having to pay for parking ticket, I'm not so small which made going to the toilet very difficult with it being so close to the bath.

We needed help due to a medical emergency and were helped with ice and a great helpline- super! Breakfast was super and we even enjoyed a dinner as well tasty! The location is amazing!

Central location and good sized room.

Nothing. Staff were friendly. Previous reports stated the rooms were cold and the breakfast was of a poor standard but we this was not the case during our visit. We would return to this hotel again.

The hotel was clean and staff were all very friendly & helpful, the meals were good and you had quite a few to chose from. The room we had was excellent huge size with great views over the bay. Central location for all amenities.

If you travel by coach/train and were not requiring car parking you would have won a watch, my only gripe was the car parking and what I seen over the weekend was lots of people getting tickets. (Must be the police/councils main money making racket because they were definitely on the ball with dishing out tickets)

Comfortable, clean room. Keycard/electricity switch excellent. Breakfast items kept freshly stocked. Friendly, helpful staff.

As a retired teacher, poor spelling really irks me - "towel rail extremly hot". However, there was nothing that I didn't like.

The location

The bed was very uncomfortable.The heater did not heat the room enough and you could not turn it up.This hotel is more for workmen

Love the large rooms Views are fantastic location is perfect ! Big comfy beds , the staff are very friendly

The lift is very dated , could be a bit of a strugle for older couples having to open and close shutters

Fantastic position,good staff,great breakfast and good value.....stayed at least 6 times and is first choise in Oban every time.
