The Proprietor was not very nice...no smiling face at anytime,the Rooms were stuffy and old smelling.You were treated as a child...were told what to do,not nice.

Beautiful house. Clean large room. Dining room overlooking well kept gardens. (No ducks!)

Not really a hotel but more of a b&B. Menu vastly overpriced for quality of food. Felt a little uncomfortable in the dining room E.G. note at top of menu saying "No mobile phones whilst dining". I understand why but just felt like being in school. Didn't like the fact that the owner debited my card prior to checking out and without me being present. Although everything was correct this was unusual.

The garden was pleasant.

I thought it was overpriced. My room was tiny (about 18inches surrounded the double bed), no wardrobe (just a rail improvised above the table in an alcove) and no space to put my suitcase). The 'en suite' was outside the bedroom so I had to be robed and ensure I didn't lock myself out each time I went to it. £7 for a packed lunch consisting of a sandwich and some strawberries; it was fine but too expensive.

The actual building is beautiful along with some of the rooms inside. The meal we had was excellent. The welcome and service we had was excellent. The heated floor in the bathroom was very welcome.

The approach to the building was a bit unfortunate through a housing estate type area. The room we were in was on the ground floor of a block outside the main building and it took a while to warm up, especially the floor. The room interior was a little dated.

Friendly hotel where the little details made it really nice and homely.

Relaxing and beautiful location. We asked to change our room to one that had its own front door - this was not a problem.

Limited menu for dinner and quite expensive for what we got. Nothing startling, unfortunately! Although our room was nice, I felt it was expensive for a weekend break. Breakfast was ok - although young waitress seemed to only be able to pour half cups of coffee and wanted to clear plates before we had actually finished eating!! Fresh fruit was limited unless you arrived at the start of breakfast serving.

We enjoyed our stay & found the staff extremely helpful, food excellent and the room very comfortable

Found the lounge area rather quiet. Tv or background music would have helped.

Location; within 5mins drive from main north/south road, beautiful scenery, close to numerous outdoor activities. Pristine bathroom. Well cooked food.

Private road to hotel rather difficult to negotiate with a low slung car! Last 50yds. Became a mud track after heavy rain. Bathroom would benefit from a more powerful shower.

We felt it was the middle of the road type, very clean, but nothing special for us really

It was quiet,but,it more like a b&b than a hotel.The room was cold and we had to ask for heating to be put on.Food potions small and rather pricey.Would think twice about staying there again.
