Columba House Hotel & Garden Restaurant  

The Proprietor was not very nice...no smiling face at anytime,the Rooms were stuffy and old smelling.You were treated as a child...were told what to do,not nice.

Beautiful house. Clean large room. Dining room overlooking well kept gardens. (No ducks!)

Not really a hotel but more of a b&B. Menu vastly overpriced for quality of food. Felt a little uncomfortable in the dining room E.G. note at top of menu saying "No mobile phones whilst dining". I understand why but just felt like being in school. Didn't like the fact that the owner debited my card prior to checking out and without me being present. Although everything was correct this was unusual.

The garden was pleasant.

I thought it was overpriced. My room was tiny (about 18inches surrounded the double bed), no wardrobe (just a rail improvised above the table in an alcove) and no space to put my suitcase). The 'en suite' was outside the bedroom so I had to be robed and ensure I didn't lock myself out each time I went to it. £7 for a packed lunch consisting of a sandwich and some strawberries; it was fine but too expensive.

Extremely comfortable. Myra the owner is very pleasant and really made us feel at home. Cant wait to go back.

The hotel was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was very good as was the service. We very much enjoyed our stay but feel the decore could benifit from a little brightening up.

I thought that Myra was the most helpful and nicest person. She did not for one minute asked us why we were in Kingussie, or what we were doing there. She did however entertain us with feeding the ducks, making jokes about there being no carbohydrates in Scotland etc. When I asked her for brown toast, she said that "Bill" her husband had only made white bread! It was delicious. The next morning Bill had made brown bread, which Myra gave us. I will certainly stay in this hotel again, I just hope that Myra has a room for us when I next go to Scotland!

Good breakfast menu and option of evening meals in pleasant surroundings. Lovely garden. Easy access/distance to local area.

The location of the Hotel is excellent , just situated off the main road and in a beautiful quiet leafy location. The hotel itself is small, very well maintained and very inviting. Our room was upstairs, very nice and fresh and had everything that we needed. The dining experience in the hotel on our visit was excellent and our evening meal was very well presented and absolutely delicious. Breakfast was also of a very high standard. Myra the owner of the hotel was there whenever we needed anything and nothing was ever too much bother. Loved watching the ducks and rabbits in the garden whilst having our dinner/breakfast. Overall a very relaxing, enjoyable stay thanks to Myra and her husband who obviously work very hard at it all day and all evening to keep everything just as it should be. Perfect for their appreciative guests. Loved this hotel and would definitely recommend it to friends.
