“ The location was excellent for my purpose and very conveniently located to Paddington station and tube stations. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. We we first arrived the front desk staff was so helpful with information. We got a great room with a patio. The room was a great size. The bathroom was of course small but it is Europe after all. The location to the paddington station was within minutes. Great restaurants were also close by.

The location was very central for everything that we were requiring. The bedroom was quiet and comfortable, bathroom was clean. Breakfast was more than adequate, good choice available. Staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodating to our needs. The interior of the hotel is very tired looking, definitely needs decorating in places. Would have been nice to provide shampoo with the soap, to save going to shop to buy.

Very Good Location close to Paddington Station, I had room 102 which had a high ceiling and French windows with a small walk out veranda which was good as the room was hot with no way of controlling the heating. Staff were really friendly. Bathroom very small, no bar, breakfast option very limited.

Good access to many restaurants and tube station. Functional hotel, good value for money, fine for a short stay. Noise from the street. Musty smelling room.

Incredibly helpful staff: the young lady on reception when we checked in (Anna) was amazing and so helpful and friendly and the young man in the morning at breakfast was really helpful and friendly too.. especially with our 5 year old son! Great location - close to railway station and restaurants and the big plus was that your hotel was clean!! Our only dislike was the coffee... was too weak and tasteless, but that's a matter of choice too.

Hotel is on great place, Sussex gardens looks like very peaceful neighborhood. We came from Stansted to Baker street and from there is about 15 minutes walk to hotel. Metro is really close (5 minut), but also main attractions are in Range (Buckingham palace, Big Ben) by walk. Some restaurants and bars are also really close. Hotel is really simple, bathroom is really small. For sleeping is it enough. Breakfast is also simple, but I think everybody find something to eat. We met 3 staff members and all are very kind. Small Bathroom.

Great location The mattress in room 203 was exceptionally shoddy. I'll usually sleep on anything but this was bad enough that we checked out and booked another (much more comfortable) hotel nearby after one poor night. The staff, including the general manager, refused to refund the second night, despite the fact that we asked to try a different room right when we checked it, as it was immediately obvious that the mattress was going to be a problem.

The location was excellent for my purpose and very conveniently located to Paddington station and tube stations. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Though others might not appreciate having to climb stairs, I was pleased to be able to get some exercise on vacation by having a room on the 3rd floor. The bathroom had a vent but I couldn't figure out how to turn it on, so the bathroom and main room were very steamy after I showered. The sound- proofing could have been better, but it is an old building.

The hotel is small but cheap and in a good location, the 159 bus stops outside the door and it will take you to city centre. The breakfast was fine a continental breakfast but any amount of food. We stayed in a quad room it was fine your are up and gone early anyway. There are some lovely bars and restaurants near by but I would advise you to head to Picidilly and soho there is a great atmosphere there. In Ireland we would call this a guest house or B&B but it was very cheap, and the ensuite was a bit small, London itself has changed since I worked there years ago it has got very very expensive. You would want to win the lottery to stay in some of the hotels.

Very close to paddington station and hyde park We stayed at columbus hotel in december.. On arrival we were given the key to a triple room on the 1st floor, the stairs were very steep and narrow, the room was a decent size and was clean, the shower room was tiny but clean, we did not have any curtains up in our room but 1 hour after we arrived 2 nice people put the curtains up, but the curtains were wet and water was dripping on the floor, the radiators were not hot so we could not dry them so we had to leave the window open as they were steaming up, not a good start.. The street outside the hotel was classed as the carpark and the hotel charged us £30 for 30 hours parking but was supposed to be £15 per 24 hours.. We had a knock on our door at 7pm from the man on reception accusing us of smoking in the room..and he was really arrogant which did not go down very well with my partner.. The breakfast room is tiny and the breakfast was continental not english.. Great if you are from overseas but we like british breakfasts not baguettes, cheese and ham..

The location was excellent within close walking distance from Paddington station and the staff were polite, helpful and efficient. While the rooms were small it was good value for money considering London accommodation is very expensive and the breakfast was fulfilling.

Would you recommend Columbus Hotel to other travellers? This depends on the price. For us we made now the review that we paid GBP 65,= a night. Would you recommend Columbus Hotel to other travellers?: We wouldn't if we had to pay the full, normal, price of GBP 109,= a night.

Great location, very friendly staff, clean and comfortable. En-suite was quite small, not suitable for a 'larger' person (which I'm not, so it was ok for me.
