Great room, huge bed (2 singles pushed together) huge bathroom with everything that's needed. Iron and ironing board. Beautiful communal areas. Ample parking, beautiful scenery.
Bathroom tiles could do with re tiling, mini fridge wasn't working (in process of upgrading)
Overall enjoyable would stay again
At the price we payed breakfast would have made the stay better value
All the staff were extremely helpful. Room service was very good and brilliant as far as lengh of time between ordering and it arriving at the room. The food was fantastic. The only downside is that there isn't a lift, though it is understandable because of the age of the building.
The restaurant was to bright and there was no ambiance!
room food staff
The size of the rooms - they were ENORMOUS! The bathrooms - the size of Netball courts! The food and service - very good
rooms too hot - but understand the reasons why, when you're trying to heat a restored country house!
The romantic setting near a country park and lakes.
Buratiful building in lovely location and cosy, beautiful bedroom, very good breakfast.
A nosie and shake of the flour coming of neighbour bedroom after meednight- while walking in them room you could feel bed shaking in hour, so annoying when you try to sleep.
Staircase Wifi Breakfast Room names Trouser press Wardrobe Hair dryer Earl Grey tea Period features
Pillows slightly hard! 1 electric socket didn't work (all the others did)
The size of the superior room was unbelievable. What a fantastic hotel. Saw some reviews and people say it is outdated however i thought it added to the charm. It is a fantastic hotel and one i will definately book again. The staff were very helpful and the food outstanding.
I felt like a princess it was beautiful I just wish we could have stayed longer but I will definitely return again. In fact I would like to look into a wedding package.
Loved the spacious surrounds, the warmth and the history. Very clean.
Not really being made to feel special, TV not working, lamps not working, broken chair, no mini bar, no mineral water, not even a saucer or little plates for a biscuit, no special touches as advertised. Each of these a tiny inconvenience but adds up to not quite being 4 star.
Lovely old listed building, lovely views. It was a very cold night but the room was well heated. Although only a very small window the room was large and comfortable.
The girl serving in the bar and restaurant was sullen and not very informative. The service was bad and the food not much better. It's a shame that Sunday night is always not as good in these good restaurants.
Friendly staff, cleanliness, and beautiful venue...
Slightly tired appearance...
Reception (Krystina) very helpful and welcoming. Location near racecourse perfect for my visit, but only a few minutes from town anyway. Parking. Fast, totally free and easy wi-fi. (an example to other hotels) Breakfast. Value For Money overall.
Nothing really. Lights over washbasins (shaving!!) would be helpful but can live with that for brief stay.
Being so quite
Food ,room and staff
I asked for a ground floor room but was given one at the top of the building.
Helpfulness of reception staff.
Cold bathroom with no way of turning on radiators. Dead batteries in TV controllers. Restaurant staff pleasant but not well trained - e.g had to carry own drinks from bar to table.
Decent gaff. Would stay again.
Carpet, walls, furniture surfaces, towels were dirty, furniture broken. Tatty looking executive room. Will never stay here again
Excellent, friendly staff the room was cozy, clean and the bed was comfortable, food was excellent and very reasonably priced. Plenty of parking.
No disabled parking or lifts.
Food is amazing
Exterior and reception areas magnificent. Restaurant very pleasantly decorated
My room. The dullest drabbest room.i have ever stayed in. Absolutely a let down in stark contrast to the rest of the building. Felt id been put in the servants quarters.
Beautiful building and surroundings, impossibly close to the city centre. Excellent facilities and friendly staff. Live like Georgian gentry for a while without giving up modern comforts!
