Being so quite
Food ,room and staff
I asked for a ground floor room but was given one at the top of the building.
Helpfulness of reception staff.
Cold bathroom with no way of turning on radiators. Dead batteries in TV controllers. Restaurant staff pleasant but not well trained - e.g had to carry own drinks from bar to table.
Decent gaff. Would stay again.
Carpet, walls, furniture surfaces, towels were dirty, furniture broken. Tatty looking executive room. Will never stay here again
Excellent, friendly staff the room was cozy, clean and the bed was comfortable, food was excellent and very reasonably priced. Plenty of parking.
No disabled parking or lifts.
Food is amazing
Exterior and reception areas magnificent. Restaurant very pleasantly decorated
My room. The dullest drabbest room.i have ever stayed in. Absolutely a let down in stark contrast to the rest of the building. Felt id been put in the servants quarters.
Beautiful building and surroundings, impossibly close to the city centre. Excellent facilities and friendly staff. Live like Georgian gentry for a while without giving up modern comforts!
Staff, building, size of room.
The hotel is beginning to look tired in places. The numerous mirrors every where are a bit too much and off putting! Bed wasn't very comfortable. and the bathroom is definitely in need of an upgrade, broken & loose tiles on the floor, tatty shower curtain and rail and generally a bit tired and dated.
The valance on the bed was very dirty and didnt look as though it had been changed for about 6 mo nths. There were cobwebs in the corners of the bathroom. The whole building was taken for granted to make money out of weddings. Shame as very good location.
The rear of the property had a huge tent like dome and this needed cleaning. The room where I was staying could do with being redocrated and recarpeted There were deep stains in the carpet. It could be very grand as very large room and bathroom.
The size of the room and bed. The excellent food.
Shower door leaked all over bathroom floor no matter how hard I tried to shut it firmly.
Breakfast was poor. Buffet style ! Why ? Wedding night before. We have stayed here many times but this excuse is not valid.
The hotel is situated in a lovely area with a lake at the bottom of the gardens and the river nearby. It is quite a way out of the town.
Our room was described as "executive" implying that there are other rooms not of executive standard but this is the standard room which is not made clear when booking. We got a good deal through "booking.com" but would not be willing to pay the regular tariff for this room. The bedroom is what could be described as "cosy" but the bathroom is a good size. However the fixtures and fittings need an overhaul. We were woken several times during the night by a crying baby being carried up and down the corridor outside our room!! Why is the mini-bar in the bedroom locked???
The room was very spacious and the bed very comfortable.
Climbing the stairs to get to the room.
Location - great for exploring Nottingham, not far from the M1. The hotel looks very grand and it was in a quite location. Room 107 was amazing well worth the money paid. It was huge, with an equally large bathroom, a bath situated in the middle of the room with a separate walk-inshower, fireplace. double sinks definitely a Superior Room
Room 201 - compared to room 107 which our other party had it was a big disappointment. Whilst the room was large and apparently the same size as the other rooms the ceilings were low, everything was against the walls with a huge space in the middle, the décor was 'blah'. The bathroom was no different to what you would expect to receive in a Travelodge.
- beautiful building - comfy bed - snacks in restaurant were pleasant and reasonably priced
- bedroom was quite old and the fittings were not of the highest quality - hotel just feels slightly run down
Superior room was worth the additional cost, very impressive room
Driving round the one way system in nottingham without Tom tom, it's quite hard to find.
ALL ROUND GOOD HOTEL
Location was brilliant for easy access to Nottingham City centre. Room was cheap but would have paid more for upgrade..
Booked executive room, room was a good size but was told when booking rooms only had a small windows but could not see out of it because as you looked all you could see was stone pillas , as to move rooms all were fully booked and when told all executivery rooms were like this. Ate in hotel restaurant on first night food was faultless but lacked atmosphere and had to point out to waitress that there was litter on the floor from afternoon teas.
Buildings, history, staff, room. Fabulously huge bathroom. Easy parking, gorgeous grounds.
It's a little bit away from everything, but that suited us.
Plenty of parking, large rooms, Wi-Fi that works and a good restaurant
The drive through Nottingham!
History, grounds easy parking
Those who booked with booking. Com had to pay extra for breakfast. Those who called the hotel direct. Had their breakfast included in the same room charge.
The location and the facilities
nothing to dislike
