The whole package
Incoming male member of staff spitting within grounds. Cracked tiles in ensuite. Stained carpet. Expensive beer/drinks.
Stayed here a couple of times and each visit I've stayed in a different room, all rooms are comfortable and have a nice atmosphere. Staff are very friendly and happy.
Would be great if there was a gym available.
Good location. Property a bit 'rough around the edges'.
Loose tiles on bathroom floor. Shower was v.poor. A lot of cobwebs hanging from ceiling in room.
everything. my wife left some items behind and they were returned to us within 36 hours.
The opulent rooms and stunning bath in middle of bathroom. Very quiet location only tinkle of water in the water feature outside room.
The bed was rock hard so didn't sleep very well.
Room was lovely, shower was fantastic, loads of space and all the luxuries u would expect, staff more than helpful.
Breakfast was over priced so didn't have it, went 5mins up the road to Toby carvery.
Size of the rooms Friendliness of the staff
Would have been wonderful if breakfast had been included in the rate
4* with character. Good was very good.breafast cooked to order.
Fabulous shabby chic bedroom with lovely view of fountain and racecourse. Would definitely use again if in the area.
Staff were excellent. Surroundings were beautiful and relaxed. Food was amazing and reasonably priced.
A couple of maintenance issues with room. Tear in carpet off bed wheels. Tiling and trims around bath and shower need attention.
The building is amazing, also the surrounding gardens and walks. The food was more than acceptable served by very friendly staff who could not do enough to help when within their position of doing so.
Oh dear. First room was so very dark with only one small window to let in any light that there was. Moved to another room and then found the temperature in that room unbearable and the windows could not be opened. Swopped one disavantage for another! Don't be deceived by the "title" of the rooms. Superior is no more than I would except in any other hotel and would be classed as a normal double.
Breakfast was great. Lots of hot water on tap and the overall experience.
Spacious and warm on a chilly day.Historic site and gardens. I used to stay regularly, and came back when working in the area. The hotel was originally designed well with interesting features in rooms that made it a treat to stay
In bedroom-Blind did not work, bath plug/chain broken. Very odd arrangement of furniture. Only one lamp for a double room- a bit hard to read by, too.No desk. Generally needs a bit of love, excess furniture (and non-functional minibar) removed and a return of its interior designer.
Building Room Size Price For the price of an Ibis i got to stay in a beautiful building and feel a little bit classy!
Really made no difference to me but a chip in the loo seat and the bedside lamp sockets did not feel robust.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. The hall is stunning. Food was very good indeed. Right next to Nottingham Racecourse and close by the National Watersports Centre.
It is always a very pleasant all round experiance
A smile is always a great thing to see in the morning. But it's not an issue
Great room, huge bed (2 singles pushed together) huge bathroom with everything that's needed. Iron and ironing board. Beautiful communal areas. Ample parking, beautiful scenery.
Bathroom tiles could do with re tiling, mini fridge wasn't working (in process of upgrading)
Overall enjoyable would stay again
At the price we payed breakfast would have made the stay better value
All the staff were extremely helpful. Room service was very good and brilliant as far as lengh of time between ordering and it arriving at the room. The food was fantastic. The only downside is that there isn't a lift, though it is understandable because of the age of the building.
The restaurant was to bright and there was no ambiance!
room food staff
The size of the rooms - they were ENORMOUS! The bathrooms - the size of Netball courts! The food and service - very good
rooms too hot - but understand the reasons why, when you're trying to heat a restored country house!
The romantic setting near a country park and lakes.
Buratiful building in lovely location and cosy, beautiful bedroom, very good breakfast.
A nosie and shake of the flour coming of neighbour bedroom after meednight- while walking in them room you could feel bed shaking in hour, so annoying when you try to sleep.
