Very good,
Score from 118 reviews
“ The staff were very friendly. The atmosphere was very relaxing. The room was huge and comfortable and the bathroom was enormous, well equiped with deep a deep tub and a separate shower. The room appeared very slightly tired but not enought to affect my enjoyment of it. ”

We went for my daughters wedding, and it was an excellent venue. The staff were superb, and everybody had a great day.

The staff were all friendly and helpful and the hotel comfortable and quiet. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere and the food was excelent. My mother had a bad fall on arrival at the hotel which was properly dealt with and paramedics called by the hotel staff. We were moved to a lovely room and all staff showed great concern. However, I did think that the management of the hotel might have enquired about her health on leaving the hotel - she was homebound for a week and is still not fully recovered.

Hotel was very pretty. Very comfortable bed. Noisy, creaky floorboards, squeaky doors, far too hot in the 2nd floor rooms, breakfast was overpriced.

Colwick Hall is tarditional with a modern twist. Georgetown restaurant serves excellent food. Very small amount of the lamb in the lamb biryani at £18 a plate I expect more than three thumbnail sized diced pieces of lamb

The bedroom and bathroom were spacious, well equipped and very comfortable. I sent a request with my original booking. The hotel phoned me within five minutes confirming that they had dealt with my request. We enjoyed our stay. Some of the furniture in the reception is out of keeping with the overall feel of the hotel - this is an observation rather than a criticism.

The hotel provided us with a superb wedding experience for my son and daughter in law. The organisation was very good the food and service excellent. The bar prices were reasonable and any issues quickly and efficiently dealt with. The rooms are looking tired and dated and I would have expected a lot higher standard for the price. We had friends who paid £140 for the room and this did not include a breakfast!! The rooms were very hot and we had to leave the fan provided on all night .

Historic Character. Breakfast was excellent. Staff were superb Attic room was small and very hot. Beds were too small. For the quality of the place tissues in the bathroom would have been a nice guesture. Hotel could have done with a few more people to liven up the atmosphere

Proximity to business address. No elevator although help with bags was provided. Bed head was sloping downhill because of floor. Five pound surcharge on room service.

Beautiful and spacious room and nice surroundings. We came when it was very crowded and we could't get the attention we needed. The restaurant was full, the TV didn't work, the room was way too warm and tiles were loose in the bathroom.

A beautiful building in beautiful grounds. The hotel called in advance to let me know there were a number of parties going on that night which was to be expected in the run up to christmas. Good breakfast, very helpful reception staff. Decor a bit shabby in places and executive rooms on the tired side. Extra charge of £15 (?) for an extra bed for our child was a bit pricey and breakfast, whilst good was overpriced at £10 plus each.

I was very impressed that the hotel took the time to phone us to warn us that they had a function on and that it would be noisy. The standard of the rooms was very high. The fact that it was noisy, even though we were on the top floor it sounded like the party was happening outside the door to our room.

The rooms are lovely, the bedroom furniture is beautiful, in fact the whole hotel is lovely, you really do feel special at this hotel The food menu is a little confusing and with the grandeur of the hotel you would expect a really talented chef, it was a mix between malay and british fusion on offer, The dishes could be really amazing but they come out way too quick to be made from scratch and the flavours are not there due to that. Food was 5 out of 10 for us

Beautiful Georgian building, carefully restored. Large rooms with unique decor, faithful to the period. Original features carefully incorporated into the modern era. Spacious bedrooms (even the cheapest) with excellent ensuite facilities - lovely hot shower! Wonderful staircases, dining rooms and conference facilities if you needed them. Lovely views of gardens outside, well kept and interesting. Plenty of parking, close to Nottingham racecourse and a short drive into the city of Nottingham.
