Beautifully located in the heart of the Qhantock Hills. Interesting history of hotel and location. Elegant and spacious room. Very clean and peaceful. Good breakfast.
Beautiful location close to excellent walks in the Quantocks. Marvellous food at all meals, including packed lunches.
Can't think of anything.
The friendliness of the staff
Privacy. King size bed. Breakfast excellent. Staff polite and extremely helpful especially Julie. Will come again.
Friendly staff, good food although the menu was rather limited if staying for several nights. Very good for walking - you could walk straight out of the hotel onto footpaths.
Since the heating was not on, the heated towel rail also wasn't on so towels remained damp although this was hardly a show stopper!
Beautiful location Peace and quiet Friendly and helpful staff Tea on the lawn Huge comfy bed Good meals
Limited choice in bar
staff were lovely. Decor was good. Evening dinner was excellent.
Not so much choice at breakfast as we'd expected, they need to widen their menu.
Lovely country hotel in the Quantock Hills. Serene location tucked into a small quiet valley, with great walks (maps and routes provided by hotel). Characterful coach house (with squeaky floorboards to match :-). Beautifully comfortable room and bed. Food was noticeably good quality and cooked to perfection. Sunday roast particularly good. Very good value and charming hotel with good staff. Keep doing what you're doing!
Evening food was a tad expensive, however judging by our breakfast and dinner, the food may well have been worth it. 3 course set menu @ £25 per head and we would have definitely stayed for evening dinner.
Incredible tucked away little gem. Simple comfort hideaway.
Music or radio on in public rooms as background so quiet you could hardly hear it. Silence would be far better – or just listen to the birds singing in outside. Clatter from kitchen penetrates to lounge area.
Friendly staff in particular Sophie.....and that we were able to take our 7 month old puppy, and the owners were very attentive, and made us feel so comfortable.
Items substandard in bedroom and bathroom
Lovely hotel in a beautiful quiet setting. Food excellent and the staff very friendly. Hope to go back soon!
Would have liked to stay longer!
All staff were unfriendly and lacked customer service skills. Food was overpriced and very poor quality - and insufficient. Management did not respond to a problem with the washbasin. Decorating went on until past midnight and we were woken by the noise.
Staff very helpful and informative about area. Restaurant food very good.
Poor phone and internet connections
Lovely setting providing the weather is kind. Overall a lovely place to stay.
Thought the food portions were a little small albeit beautifully cooked.
Comfortable and nice gardens
Too out of the way plus did not have a bar that could really be used late at night. Not our sort of place but I should have realised before I booked. I suppose we really like large impersonal corporate hotels with many facilities e.g. gym etc.
We had a lovely big room with a really comfortable bed! Breakfast was very good and the local walks excellent!
Our Bathroom, though plenty big enough was well below the standard that we expected for a Superior room. The fittings were tired and dated.
The location is tranquil and the manager brilliant
