Not being able to sleep
From the moment we arrived we were greeted with a smile. My friend had arranged with the hotel to decorate our room with birthday balloons and a banner which was a lovely surprise for me. Room very clean. Lots of extras - iron and ironing board, safe, bottled water and plenty of wardrobe space. Reception staff were extremely helpful and courteous.
The room was poorly lit as it was on the back of the hotel. The view from the room was of pipe work and no natural light able to access through the window but for one night was manageable.
The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly and the room was lovely and very good value for money.
The only problem was slight noise from outside but it was fully expected when i booked because of the location. It didn't affect my sleep though so not a major problem :)
Clean, good room size and comfortable bed.
A bit of a hike to parking, struggled to understand how to get to the hotel to drop bags, due to the confusion with trams. So had to walk with all our bags from the car park. Street was noisy during the night, from late night pub.
This hotel is one of the best hotels I've ever seen before. It is located in the center of Nottingham which is really convenient and the staff there are really really good with politeness and they are always there for you. The breakfast is good as well which I love the most. And the house keeping is good because they will totally clean the room which is impressive.
The wifi in the room sometimes will stop working which is a little annoying.
Staff was helpful, location is brilliant
the facilities seemed aged, it's much less comfortable than Nottingham Mercure.
Had a very lovely stay with Mercure. Staff very friendly. Perfect location and room was perfect. Booked the small double so knew I was getting a small room but had enough space for a young couple so individuals will be fine too.
Just feel it's slightly more catered for business men. Had no full length mirror and the mirror in the bathroom wasn't in reach of any plugs. So hairdrying or any styling or getting ready was made difficult. Wouldn't put me off again though.
The location is good - central for the Lace Market area of Nottingham. Very atmospheric, supposed to be the oldest hotel in Nottingham. Most of the rooms are of a good standard. We were warned there may be noise from a party on the first floor, but heard nothing of it.
A quite belligerent receptionist greeted us, must have had a bad day, and in the end I needed to tell her to calm down. Never had a reception like it. Also the bar closed to residents at 12:15AM so my guests went outside the hotel for a final nightcap. Apologetic staff in the morning, but too late by then. Breakfast - tea and coffee pre-made from thermos flasks - bizarre. We will not return.
Location. Very clean.
Smallest hotel room i have ever been in! Uncomfortable mattress.
Knew what you were getting, nothing stood out, yet it delivered what I wanted.
Location, postcode didn't take me to hotel from station. Resulted in walking round searching for the place
The hotel is lovely, close to bars & resturaunts
The bed was small
The location of the hotel was great. It was just a short stroll to the Nottingham Winter Wonderland. Historic building with a load of history. Beautiful interior decor at the lobby area and stair area
Small cramped rooms. Horrendous effort to find the parking garage (hotel didn't have map or clear instructions to guide me there especially at night).
wanted good quality hotel central to nottingham. Which this is just off lace market straight walk short distance to centre shopping. bar meals good helping and was very nice. Room comfortablle but could hear next rooms tv at 1am. Staff sorted straight away. very good. Would come back but not do breakfast
Breakfast went in at 8am.Containers however not kept filled. For nearly 10 pounds each we had usual fruit or cereal but no bacon sausage left ended up with dried up fried egg on toast not good. Never filled whole time there. Not offered more tea or coffee just had 1 cup. Staff lacking. No xmas decorations at all either in bar resturant area with just 1 week to xmas day disappointing no xmas spirit..
Executive king room was massive and unbelievably good comfort and value.
Nothing, was great!
Difficulty with parking and also initially finding hotel detailed directions needed
Interesting building in a good location
Very cold bedroom and no instructions for the air con / heating system
Rooms are extremely comfortable & staff at reception very friendly
Nice, clean hotel right in the centre of the city. Comfortable and quiet, despite the location. Friendly and helpful staff. Found being able to leave your bags after youve checked out a real help.
Only slight flaw would be that there wasn't much choice for room service but thats being picky.
Clean environment and courteous staff
The bathroom is damn too small in room 504, although I don't know the size in other rooms.
We were the first down for breakfast Choices, choices!!
Shower door was broken!!
great location, staff were helpful and polite. room was spacious and bed was very comfortable. very little noise for saying the hotel is situated in Nottingham city center
room had old spillages or possibly vomit stains on a few areas of the wall around the room, not what id expect from a 4 star establishment. After i had made my payment for the room and checked out of the hotel the following day the hotel debited £10 from my bank account, their reasoning for doing this was that they didn't think i had payed the correct amount for the room. however after discussing this over the phone with the staff they agreed i was over charged and said it was down to a communication problem.
My partner very much enjoyed the complimentary drinks and coffee machine and the breakfast was very nice and not greesy for a cooked breakfast
That we paid for a king room and it was 2single beds pushed together so wasn't very comfortable plus could feel a couple springs poking out also the duvet was too thin for the time of year especially if it was to be the older couple who had stayed
The location is great close to city centre as well as the railway and bus station. The room was decent and clean but the bathroom can do with some extra servicing. The staff was very friendly and efficient. All in all good stay will surely recommend to family and friends.
Excellent hotel in city centre great breakfast lovely room friendly staff
Parking expensive £30 for 3 nights
