Booked as a special treat - shopping & lunch in the afternoon. Return, rest & relax (chill) then Capital Arena to see Paddy McGuiness followed by an Indian meal at the Balti House (excellent) in the evening. Even though we live in Nottingham it just made a more civilised, relaxing, complete break without having to rush about or worry about travel arrangements. The only restriction to doing this more often would be the price, especially in the current economic climate. Obviously the hotel has recently been refurbished to a very high standard, Mecure and their contractor should be very proud of what they have achieved here!

I booked a suite for myself and two friends. The room was excellent and beautifully decorated. It was comfortable and even though it was located in the centre of Nottingham it was so quiet in the room. Very nice hotel.

Just refurbished so everything was really clean and crisp. Nice bathroom in particular. Restaurant looked nice, but we didn't eat there. Right on the doorstep of plenty of bars, rsetaurants and shops. One fault: the room was tiny! 6/12 ins between foot of bed and wall made it awkward to access the far side of the bed. Hopefully, there are bigger rooms. When we stayed, it was very quiet, so it was surprising not to get upgaraed to a bigger room (unless of course they are all so small). See above regarding room size.

A good, well decorated hotel at the heart of Nottingham's Lace Market & close to all city centre shopping, offices and attractions. Great breakfast. Helpful concierge. Free wi-fi. Slightly expensive for a Nottingham hotel. Only iPods catered for in rooms. 3.5mm jack accessories not.

Beautiful building and hotel- great location, literally in town so perfect for shopping etc. comfy beds and great showers! Some rooms with baths too-which is always nice! Friendly staff on the whole, and great lobby- amazing staircase! The reception staff can be a little Unfriendly sometimes, this is my second stay and the staff were very different both times. The location might be too loud for some but was great for me

beds were comfortable good location we had 2 single beds to start with after booking a executive king room in what was a very average size room, after pointing it out to staff we were moved to another room which was even smaller and was not in any stretch of the imagination executive or king. We paid £115 for this room and was not worth anywhere near that money. the room was on a slant and the drawers opened by themselves when the chair propped against them was moved Woken at 6am when the bottles were removed from the pub bang opposite. The discounted car park was impossible to find The room was basically tiny and very far from value for money. Maybe this hotel is designed for people away on business but definately not for couples or familys

Really friendly staff, gym stays open 24hrs The breakfast was not up to much for the price, plus when I rang reception to ask for a room service menu, the selection of food was not very wide, plus the bar rang me after ten mins of receiving the menu to see if I was going to order or not!

The very friendly hotel staff, comfort (E.G. coffee & tea facilities in room, offering possibility to ask for fresh milk at the reception) and silence in the room despite being at a very central location in the city A more comfortable chair at the working table will make the room comfortability superb

Ideal location, staff were friendly and helpful. Gave great information about car parking and where to park. Very clean and tidy Hotel. Thank you for your friendly service. That free coffee and tea was available, especially when waking up, not to actually pay for that service.

Very central, clean room and bathroom, fresh linen The room was very small and cramped and the window looked out onto a wall. The hotel is obviously converted from an old building as all the floors are uneven. Our room had a terribly uneven floor, so that the head end of the bed was significantly higher than the feet end. The wardrobe and chair were tilted at such an angle that it made me feel sick! The bedside tables were about a foot away from the wall for an unknown reason! The room was clean and of the standard I would expect from a Mercure, but if I had paid anywhere near the rates advertised on other sites I would have been extremely dissapointed and I would have asked to be moved. I do hope I wasn't given this room purely because I booked on a "special deal". This would not be a good advertisement for Mercure had I not been familiar with the chain from far better experiences!

Great location , friendly helpful staff , clean & comfortable room With great facilities Hotel is beautifully decorated & well maintained I look forward to my next stay There was some noise from the street outside , which did not affect my stay Adversely but should be mentioned. I know that this is no fault of the Hotel nor is it unique to the Mercure but other travellers should be aware that Nottingham has a lively city centre especially at weekends & hotels in this area may be affected by external noise.

“The rooms were comfortable and very clean. The shower was great - really powerful. We had a lovely view as we were on the 11th floor.
