A 600-year-old coaching inn located in the centre of St Albans, White Hart Hotel sits opposite the world-famous Cathedral and Abbey. Guests can dine in a traditional oak-panelled, candlelit...

I have stayed at this hotel several times, and, always find it ideal for me, despite limited mobility. Good location, friendly staff - helpful and cheerful!
Slightest comment - the beds are turned down so tightly and efficiently, that it is difficult to find a space between the bottom sheet and the duvet for a little old person like me, to navigate a space for sleeping! Hope that raises a smile amongst the crew! Cheers & Thanks from one Happy Customer.
Friendly staff, lively bar, comfortable interconnected rooms, central location but quiet.
Easy checkin, friendly staff. Room was clean and comfortable. Excellent breakfasts. The abbey is just across from the hotel. Free wifi, all hotels should provide this!!!
Main entrance a bit awkward, steps and manual doors. Parking a bit hit and miss. Basin tap in our room needed some service as it was stiff and difficult to operate. Reported to reception after first night but still not seen to when we checked out the next day.
Breakfast with a smile over Christmas
Its a shame the parking is a bit difficult
Rooms were comfortable, shower worked well. Staff were friendly and efficient. location very central and lots of eating places nearby.
Soundproofing wasn't great.First night we could clearly hear the argumentative couple in the next room but when we raised this we were moved promptly to a very quiet room. Parking was OK once we knew where it was-needs better signposting maybe, Bed was too firm for me but that's a personal preference. Didn't use eithe the bar or have breakfast so can't comment.
Cozy bar and loung, helpful staff, room service available from cafe rouge that can be delivered to your room.
Parking was a problem and not so close to hotel
Bit better than i expected for the money. Clean, pleasant and a good step up from Premier Inn, that kind of thing.
Lack of strength in wifi
The staff, my room, bathroom and bed, good internet and what a breakfast! All pretty faultless. Quite a small hotel, but very comfortable, I felt valued.
right opposite the cathedral, next to all pubs and restaurants, interesting building, café rouge next door for excellent breakfasts
Good Staff and Location
Cold room on arrival Cafe Rouge un helpful
The place is in a great location, feels almost homely if not a bit small. Nothing wrong with service, or the room - but £150 for one night is pretty steep!
I expected a restaurant, and a barmeal in the lounge was not very pleasant, becausenthe TV was on and the lady would not turn off the volume. The food was not quitenwarm-
Good location. Good value for money and the breakfast was also good value for the money. The staff were pleasant and accommodating and the room was clean and quiet.
Although we managed a parking spot next to the Hotel the spaces were limited and the other car parking facilities were not convenient.
Great central location
Pretty expensive, breakfast not included. Main car park quite far away from the hotel.
Room was comfortable, and clean
Room was cold initially, as were the corridors. Breakfast was only mediocre, for £125 per night I would have expected much better.
STAFF WERE VERY HELPFUL
ROOM WAS COLD ON ARIVAL
That is was close to family.
We booked a twin room and was given a double instead!
great location opposite the cathedral, with free parking, lovely hot power shower friendly staff, complimentary coffee and mince pies in foyer
breakfast expensive if not included, no one told me how to get the heating on so was cold at night, enamel in bath chipped and slightly tired looking grouting and shower curtain
While staying at the Clarion Collection Hotel in St Albans, my sister who has walking difficulties came to visit me. The staff were very helpful and aware of how to treat people like my sister . They are to be commended !
The entrance building has great character! This combined with modern rooms at the rear is an excellent mix of old and new.
Parking limited, but we still got a space. A small price to pay for the convenience of staying right in the centre of St. Albans
Room was comfortable and clean.
Hotel was rather noisy in the bar area throughout the evening and in the hotel corridors up to 02.00). When booking, we had asked for a fop floor room to try and avoid noise, but we're allocated a 1st floor room. When we questioned this on registration, we were told our room would be quiet - it wasn't. Trying to find the car park was 'interesting'...prepare for walk through dark streets to get there.
Location and cost
I was given a key to a room which had people in it - very awkward for both parties when the door was opened.
