Location is superb Main building/reception, bar and breakfast room. En-suite was modern and shower particularly good Service from reception staff and breakfast was excellent
Noise transmission from hallway and adjoining rooms.
Location was good.
So overpriced. The proprietor should be ashamed to be charging 5 star prices for a 2 star hotel.
Friendly staff. Clean and comfortable room. Quiet. Perfect location for centre of town.
There wasn't anything that we didn't like
Comfortable and convenient. Central but quiet.
The building was lovely staff very attentive and the room was clean and we'll presented. Followed up with a well cooked breakfast.
There was nothing not to like about this hotel
Very helpful staff
Bit of a walk from car park if you couldn't get into one at hotel
Hotel staff is awfully helpful& kind. Location wise perfectly situated in st albans for shopping or city tour. Thanks again.
City centre location, close to shops
Car park, it was are first visit, at night and a little stressful finding a place to park. Now we no better so should be less stressful next time
Very poor instructions. could not find key pad. Drop off area full with double parking. Staff must insist that customers checking in only park for say 15 minutes. A sign emphasizing this should be in a prominent place and the instructions should be vigorously enforced!
Stayed at this hotel for two nights. Excelent location close to the cathedral, park and historic city centre with a good variety of pubs, bars and restaurants and shopping. Staff were very helpful. Nice spacious room with comfy bed. Good sized bathroom with excellent shower. Hotel has a small bar which is good for a night cap, but otherwise quiet throughout the day.
It would have been nice to have bath robes included. Also the continental breakfast in bed option at almost £10 is a rip off so we didn't bother. Cafe Rouge next door do excellent breakfasts at great value if you get their 2-1 offer via their website.
Staff were friendly & efficient. Bed very comfortable. Breakfast buffet excellent. Shower was good temperature and power
Bathroom extractor fan not working. Noise of people going to bed at 2am. May have been staff.
The car parking arrangements
Location is good for central St Albans ( requires walking up the hill) Good breakfast especially the sausages
It's not much better than the PI but £40 dearer
Excellent location for everything although on a hill so be prepared. Room cleanliness and powerful shower albeit over the bath. White fluffy towels. Very helpful receptionists. Very good breakfast well cooked Comfy bed.
First room allocated smelled of smoke (possibly due to previous occupants breaking hotel rules) but we were offered alternatives that were fine. No leisure facilities but we knew this before booking.
Friendly helpful staff. Great clean comfy hotel
Liked how close it was to alban arena and local restaurants and shops
Very nice clean room with good quality furnishings. Staff are very pleasant and friendly. Good breakfast and would definitely visit again.
Hotel car parking - Large remote barrier controlled is a long way from hotel and is very dark and difficult to read the digital entrance code. Very limited spaces closer to hotel.
location - friendliness and helpfulness of the staff
The Clarion felt like a bit of luxury, for a reasonable price, with a great location!
Breakfast was excellent as they cooked eggs to order and we had about 4 pots of tea in the time we sat chatting . Staff were really friendly .
Overall the hotel was fine I just thought it was a bit expensive for what is was but that maybe the price you pay in the area.
It was very convenient as my friend and I were visiting the Flower Festival at the cathedral, afterwards we wandered round the market and park. Your staff were friendly, knowledgeable and polite.
Nothing comes to mind.
No air conditioning
The overall excellence of the bathroom was let down by an old stained in-bath mat. All else totally bright, shiny and efficient.
Noisey rooms was woken up a number of times from noise from other rooms
