The booking from Booking.com was not received by the hotel, this led to a confusion at the check in desk. Luckilly they had a cancelation. |

We found the staff all very friendly and helpful. The rooms have recently been revamped to a good style and comfort. A bonus was that you could turn the heating in the room off and open a window if required. We would certainly recommend this hotel. |

As this hotel was formerly the residence of the founder of the Ryder Cup, why do you not advertise this more, in say golfing magazines/golf courses? Also, much much more should be made of this connection, if nothing more than a financial point of view to the owner/s. The limited parking facilities. |

The proximity to the Town Centre and the Cathedral. We took two rooms and stayed overnight in preparation for our Daughter's graduation ceremony in St Albans Cathedral. Inadequate car-parking. The overflow car park was a ten minute walk from the Hotel |

The best thing was the closeness of the hotel to the city centre and shops, for both food and clothes. Ordered room service, and the bottle of wine was warm!!!! Not very good as this cost nearly £15 including a room service charge. |

Pleasant, helpful staff, good size room. free parking a definite bonus for a city centre hotel. Information was rather confused about whether food was served in evening - details in room suggested it was, experience proved otherwise (plenty of other places to eat nearby though). |

Location I booked a premier room and was advised on arrival there was no such thing.Perhaps advertising standards should look at this? No refund or suitable explanation was offered. |

Location, price, generally a good place to stay. Car parking was a bit of a hassle with the car park some distance from the hotel, however it was free. |

the provision of a fan in the (rather hot) room - the position of the room (end of corridor, backing onto quiet residential courtyard) - the location is superb for signt seeing in the city the carpet looked like it had not been vacuumed very well |

Convenient for the city centre, rooms are a reasonable size, some staff are pleasant, will provide alternate room if asked. Hotel interior looks tired and some parts are shabby (walls dirty). Breakfast is limited. Some staff not particularly helpful (for example points scheme), television in bar is on all the time (especially football, some of us do not like the great game), restaurant is shut (bar meals served with football). Beds not very comfortable |

The staff were extremely friendly and went out of their way for me during my stay. Also the breakfast was lovely and the rooms very comfortable. There was only 7 channels on my television and on the advertisement there said there was satellite television. |

convenient location for St Albans, central location, close to cathedral and high st. breakfast ok (not fantastic, but alright), I don't like fried food for breakfast, not much else to choose from. Looking rather tired, common areas noticeably old (worn carpets, damaged walls). Rooms rather dour and uninspiring. Some rooms a bit dark and gloomy. |
