The hotel is central but building works are taking place opposite. The staff were friendly and the bed clean and comfortable.
The hotel appeared somewhat run-down. The stair carpet was very worn in places and the room was small and a very odd shape. A glass shelf over the bath was a hazard.
Location next to station . Plenty restaurants near by to try . Ideal only basic a warm room and comfy bed is all you need dont expect the ritz at the prices
The breakfast lady was friendly and helpful.
The staff, comfortable bed, close to station, everything was clean and it all worked
Wel the decor does have a rather tired feel, it needs a bit of a tidy - take down the additional notices on the staff only doors - and move that stack of mattersses stored in a side corridor!
Excellent front of house staff. Good bed, quiet for a city centre location. Car parking excellent value
Street closed off for construction work.
Clean (my room) Location: near the station and city centre
Old building Indifferent attitude of the staff Window locks + chain on the door: not sufficient
The location was convenient for the station.
The whole hotel is very tired, bathroom very basic and mouldy, the bar area looked like something from phoenix nights. Not a bad place to stay but basic and very very over priced.
Staff were very freindly and welcoming.
Very warm brillant breafast
Ordinarily I would have said the location was good, being right in the centre of city, but there is significant building work going on at Birmingham New Street station, directly opposite at the moment
In a great location and was very clean with a comfy bed.
Didn't look very inviting from the outside and the room was very small with hardly any room either side of the bed. As we were only staying one night these didn't bother us. Will porobably look better when all the work going on at New Street station is completed.
the location was excellent a good base if you want to do shopping. If you come by train it is a five minute walk away
the only problem at the present is all tha building work going on at the front. they start at7.30 and finish at 5.30.If you are only using it as a pure base it is excellent
The building work opposite working threw the night nosiey
excellent position, next to new street station. very good value for money. would stay again.
The central location near New Street Station
A substantial increase in cost over a visit in similar circumstances two years earlier.
The size of the room was bigger than I was expecting. The bed was very comfortable . The room temperature was just right. I've been in some places where it was either too hot or too cold! I liked the soap dispenser over the bath and sink. The are was very quiet (due to building site) The breakfast was great.
There could have been more selection of teas. Although it could not have been helped it was a bit daunting finding that the hotel was overlooking a building site. The hotel was hard to find - even locals didn't know where it was!
Value for money, great location, good breakfast
Heavy "humming" noise all day and all night - not sure of the source - presume mechanically related
lack of free WiFi service.
The staff were very good
Freezing cold shower and rotting mark on the bath tub
Virtually underneath the Bullring, next to the station and 10minute walk away from the O2 academy. The room was clean and there was plenty of sleeping space. The beds were comfortable.
There was no cold water - only hot water. There were three of us in the room and we only had 2 towels provided but the staff provided extra towels when asked.
Difficult to find as the roads are all being dug up
....the funniest moment was when we were all sat eating soapy stale toast for breakfast...the Clean Bandit record "No place I'd rather be" was playing on the radio and we all laughed!
Hotel was very tatty inside...hopefully the redevelopment of the station opposite will help lift the area.
Good price and location with a feel of history
Whilst a historic building with character, the carpets also looked historic
