A grubby room, the carpet was worn and dirty, only a single pillow, an ill fitting window and a radiator that did not work at all. The only saving grace was the price but that was scant consolation.
Central location, very comfortable room and good value.
Noise from the building site at New Street station opposite the hotel. Double-glazed windows would help enormously towards reducing disturbance from any outside noises.
Location Price Not noisy Bar
Rooms basic but clean.
Could do with a mirror in the room (we were in a twin.) would have been nice to have an evening meal there.
comfy beds, lovely breakfast and friendly staff.
The reception staff made us feel very welcome and went out of their way to make sure we knew directions etc
Can't comment all good
Dreadful road works around New St making location & parking extremely difficult. Not enough information on this given by Booking.com who should have pre-warned me.
Good value for money. Nice sized room. Clean. Easy to get to. Friendly helpful staff
Unfortunately due to train station renovations it was slightly noisier than expected, but this was through no fault of the hotel.
The 'Comfort Inn' is well situated close to 'New Street' Station, with easy access into the City Centre. I found the staff very friendly and helpful at all times.
My room was situated near to an air conditioning unit and a little noisy during the night - but I had a good night's sleep!
poor wi fi
Great location for NIC and Brindley Place
Breakfast room was located downstairs with no windows, and smelt a bit musty, because it's an old building. Shame couldn't relocate the room
HOTEL WAS DIRTY, TOE NAIL CLIPPINGS ON THE FLOOR AND CARPETS FILTHY. BATHROOM WAS RUN DOWN AND DIRTY
Very clean room despite somewhat dated appearance. Staff were all very helpful -- the best part of the experience. Cooked breakfast was tasty. Located very close to New Street station.
Given a room with a broken chain that could not be fixed until the next day. Hall stank of cigarettes. A little hard to find with all of the construction.
Close proximity to station which was convenient for evening arrival by train Large warm room
Hotel currently overlooks extensive building and engineering works at New Street station with some noise from the site
Staff were very good and room was very clean
workmen making a noise early morning
It was near the station, and near the place I had to go. That's it.
- Hotel is in a seedy backstreet opposite a building site (New Street Station) - Decor and general appearance is of a 1980s B&B - Breakfast was adequate but low quality ingredients (cheap instant coffee, bacon cooked in old fat, tinned mushrooms) - The original "cage lift" advertised as a novel feature just seemed old and dodgy, and its noisy door being slammed shut woke me up at 5am - The room (single) was dark, small and the bed not very comfortable. Bathroom was bigger, but drafty. Shower barely gave more than a drizzle of water - Receptionist on arrival was efficient, but not particularly welcoming, and the desk was unattended when I went to check out the following morning.
Lack of ability to cancel despite booking same day and suffering illness... Money grabbers...
In the heart of the location where i wanted to be .
decor needed some attention .
single bedroom was too small. Room 206 had an unsecured window leading onto a fire-escape so security was poor. Quality of bed was poor. Not a modern hotel and quality was 20 years out of date
Dreary drab hotel needs a major clean and upgrade. No free WiFi unless you paid £5ph.
Needed a bedside lamp!! Very noisy group of people in next room who had to be removed by the police around 3am. I know not hotels fault but I feel I should have had something took of my bill .
Close to railway station and town centre.Staff friendly.
Rooms and corridors could do with a bit of a upgrade and repaint on doors and skirting boards.
