Convenient warm spotlessly clean On returning late at night I had to walk through a group of drunk smokers congregated around the hotel entrance which was intimidating.

I liked the cleanliness of the room. There was no proper lift system, there was no cleaned carpets on the stairs the room was so hot at night time and it was so noisy at the back of room that we couldn't sleep whole night.

We were staying in Birmingham for one night between two train journeys, and the hotel was just a few minutes from the station. The cleanliness of the room could be improved a lot. The lift must have been there since the 19th century.

I arrived at Birmingham New Street train station late at night, and took another train there the following morning, so I just wanted a place to sleep in, and this hotel is literally a few minutes walk from the station. Therefore, the location was the main advantage. Everything looks quite old in the hotel (and also smells old), and you don't really feel that the rooms are really clean. It would be a good idea to renew the hotel.

The staff were friendly but had no knowledge to pass on about where a stranger to the city could eat out. I was a solo female traveller and did not wish to wander far in what seemed to be the less salubrious end of Birmingham. Generally the hotel was dated, tired and not quite value for money compared to other budget hotels. The TV not having Freeview didn't bother me, but would have put some off.

It is a good city center location close to the Bullring. It is also on the bus line to Birmingham City FC which was great. The rooms were very basic which I was expecting. The decor was little dated and there was a smell of smoke in the room I was in. The Station Bar located on the premises closed at 11pm and this was a Saturday night!

The location is good, near the station and Bullring. Some broken facilities in our room, old furniture, not very comfortable and staff is just a staff...But for one night is ok.

The receptionist was very pleasant and polite & helpful. The room was clean. It had en-suite and a telly. Although I could see it from the station it wasn't actually clear how to get there as it was on a different level. The streets leading to it weren't brilliantly lit & I was a bit nervous walking there at night.

The rooms we had were huge! It's was right in the middle of town do really easy to get about. The reception man on the last morning was rude! We were just leaving the room when the Phone rang. It's was 2mins to 11am and I get 'check out is 11am you know!' Also make sure you keep your parking ticket and the ticket reception give you...you'll need both to get out of the car park.

I did not like anything. The noise and lack of basic washing materials made this little more than a camping experience. The window was broken which was a safety hazard because it could not be opened onto the fire escape but would not close properly either. The noise from outside (building work going on until 12pm) and inside from the noise of people having sex (base for prostitution maybe?) made it impossible to sleep. I will never come here again. It is not directly in front of the station either because there are additional buildings between the station and hotel - it is actually a 10-15 minute walk from the station down dark dirty back roads next door to a seedy pub.

Noisy with traffic-jack-hammers past 10pm due to renovation of station- only4 tv stations-all blurry,, no internet or wifi- coin internet may have been hacked--no heat or warm water-- no breakfast attendant or coffee. Telephone not working, hole in ceiling, holes in the one blanket and curtains, slept in a down jacket. No room change on request. Not the best neighborhood. Was given a refund for paid up second night.

The room was a good size and the staff helped with shower very quickly. The location on the comfort inn is perfect! It is near everything and you are able to walk everywhere with no problems. When ringing up to confirm booking staff were rude, for two days the shower had no hot water which was not very nice. There was road works outside the comfort inn with were clearely heard, also the fact we stayed for three nights but did not get a change of clean towels through out our stay (they just were put in radiator to dry). Also we only had hot chocolate the one night which was disapointing. Would be good to have more then one spoon in the room for drinks.

“a warm welcome from the start, plenty off staff to assist at the checking in and departing procedures, informative and helpful, rooms clean and tidy although a little tight in the bathroom. Did not have a meal at the Birmingham Ibis though facilities looked comfortable. We will be looking to stop again at this hotel and this time try out what Ibis has to offer.” Martin, S. Devon |
