Due to a delayed train we arrived later than the official booking in time. We telephoned the hotel to notify them our late arrival and they were very accommodating. The purpose of our visit was to attend an open day at Birmingham University so the location of the hotel was ideal. The room was pleasant, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was service was good, the food was freshly cooked and set us up for the day. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you.

Nothing really! The quilt felt nice and soft.... Misleading information on where to park - told to look for 'Albany' car park when all the signs said 'Holloway'. Only when we finally found the car park did it say 'Holloway Albany' on it!! Not enough info given about payment - was told it was £4.40 but when we got there it said £19.90...had to phone again to clarify. Reception was dingy. Was not offered a choice of smoking or non smoking room - given a smoking room which smelt really bad, the ceiling was stained, window broken, toilet/shower cubicle looked dirty etc etc. Moved to a non-smoking room which was much better and had a proper bathroom. Cups in room dirty and had a long dark hair in one. No tea supplied and only one sachet of milk. Breakfast only served 7-9am which was far too early for us - most hotels we've stayed at run breakfast till 10am.

It was near the station, and also very near the B.Hyppodrome where I went to that evening. People at reception were very nice. The room and the bathroom were perfect.

rooms were badly maintained, with damp patchs. Staff were rude and unhelpful, electricity was gone for an entire night we were there. Rooms stank of dampness, all staff were interested in was getting the money for the room. I would be hesitant to ever stay at a comfort inn again after the way we were treated

Friendly, excellent staff. Good location. Room was a bit dirty. Shower took 10 - 15 minutes before getting warm. Cold water tap was never less than luke warm, undrinkable. Corridors dirty. Severe mil due all the way down one staircase (2 - 3 inches into the carpet). Lift didn't work and no sign of anyone trying to sort it. cracked window in hotel room with slightly raised edge...

Found that lift was out of order and had been for a while. So wouldn't have been any good for people with walking difficultys. Poor up keep of hotel buckets on stairs where leaks due to roof problems .

The only thing going for this Hotel is the central location. Pleasant staff This is a tired hotel with 2** facilities that has lacked investment. A lift not working with poorly invested decor. I will not be back.

I liked the fact that it was so convenient to the city centre, the shopping centres and the train station I wasnt too happy with it having an "adult establishment" at the corner beside the hotel...especially as I had my daughter with ne. Another thing I would have liked the hotel to have is printing facilities at the hotel i needed to print out my boarding cards..but i had to go to the airport to do this but would have prefered to have been able to print them at the hotel.

Nothing. I would not stay again. We stayed on the 4th Floor - checked in on Easter Saturday, only to be informed that the only lift that serves the hotel was out of action, and unlikely to be funtioning until after the Easter break. On arrival, no hot water. English breakfast poor.

The location is convenient since it's just next to New Street station. Theres a lot of shopping centres around like the Palisades and the Bull Ring so it's convenient for shopping or like in my case, take a train very early in the morning (5.30 am) the following day. Comfort Inn... Not likely! There was nothing about comfort in this hotel unfortunately!! First, the lift wasn't working, not convenient if you're travelling around with a big suitcase like in my case, thankfully I got some help with it and my room was on the first floor. But it's awful for a hotel having the lift out of service! Especially next to a train station. Next it was somewhat difficult to go back and forth the hotel, because in spite of being next to the train station the hotel is like in the lower level of a ramp so you have to go all around to block to reach it. I guess the hotel is not to blame, but there should be better directions to find it, since it's hard to reach it and there was no direct access from the station...besides the road is under construction what made it even more difficult to reach it. Then the room was absolutely tiny, furniture squeezed everywhere there was hardly any room to move around the bed, it was all cramped and tiny inside the room. But the worst part was that there was no hot water whatsoever in the room and was a nightmare trying to take a shower!! I called the reception to report the problem and was told to wait 10-15 mins for the boiler to start working. The heating system was out of service and the room was as cold as ice. Comfort Inn, not likely! Even after I called them the water only reached the lukewarm level, didn't get hot at all. I never experienced so much hassle in trying to take a shower in a hotel anywhere, it was terrible! Following day I got a sore throat from sleeping in a room with no heating... I had a terrible sleepless night! I don't think I would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Birmingham. Look for other options nearby the station.

The staff were very polite and friendly. Its location was excellent for my conference, shops and train station. The two downsides were that the lift was out of order and my room was on the 4th floor - ok if you're healthy but probably not good for those much older or in poorer health. Also my room really smelt of cigarette smoke when I arrived - for a non-smoker like myself it was quite over powering.

I like the location being close to the mall and to the trainstation in the city. It was walking distance to everything I needed. I didnt like that I was only given one clean towel when the maids clean the room. I even ask for extra towels and I only received one big towel while it was two adults

A spotlessly clean room and bathroom and a very well cooked breakfast was surprisingly all accomplished by one young lady. What an amazing member of staff. She even had time to be cheerful! The Receptionist was most helpful in recommending a very suitable restaurant for a late-night dinner on arrival. He too seemed to have long hours as he was always there when I passed through including late at night and early morning. A good experience - hope the lift works now.

Our triple room was lovely and spacious, even though we were right in the city it was a lovely quite room and the beds were realy comfortable. The bathroom had a fab bath just what you need after a day of shopping. The downside was probably the view but thats what to expect in a built up city. Staff were really friendly and helpfull, I just wouldnt recommend the Station Bar situated in the hotel pricey and not the most desirable of places 3 x brandys and diet pepsis £15.00 not good.
