The staff were helpful and the service in the breakfast room was very good, as indeed were the breakfasts. The hotel was shabby and needs some money spending on it, especially in the bedroom areas, to bring it more up to date. It could be a very nice hotel if some thought was given to the little things such as touching up paintwork, deep cleaning the carpets, providing more comfortable beds. However, we got what we paid for as it was cheaper than any of the others we looked at and was sufficient for our 2 night stay.

Easy parking. Room was very dirty - net curtains were black with dirt. The floors hadn't been hoovered and were covered with a previous occupant's rice dinner. I was late checking out - was suppsoed to open reception at 8.00 but receptionist late.

Price, nice staff, happy for you to check in late, grand building, ease of parking, in centre of town. Perhaps needing a little work but for the price in a lovely old Victorian building it's an excellent deal and great location.

The location as I was attending a family wedding. Although the hotel was clean. Was not happy with the hotel the lift would only take 2 persons. I had also booked my son & daughter into it my daughter has three children my son also has three children the only family room was on the 4th floor which was not good with the children being so young 4 3 and 10 weeks not good trying to get all things which you have to take with you for the age group of the children. My room was a double room which was the most expensive was small and the decor left alot to be desired. And the shower in the bath room would not work properly so ended up with a bath/shower trying to wash my hair. Paying for extra milk if it was needed did'nt seem right either. Reception also closed early

The Hotel Commodore is a very large hotel from a different era. The Hotel is extremely tired to such an extent that it would cost hundreds of thousands of pounds to bring it up to today's standards. Sadly, the Hotel needs to be put out of it's misery! That said, the staff were extremely friendly and hard working, and although everything came with chips, the food was quite palatable.

Cost. Location. Friendly staff. Allowed dogs in room. Standard of maintenance was poor. Insufficient blankets provided in a room that got cold at night.

Staff gave us different room on check in as it was a "warmer one" excellent breakfast. Handy for Royal Welsh Showground. Room clean and quiet, plenty of hot water , excellent value for money.

Staff were friendly and accomodating. Evening meal and breakfast were generous portions. Evening meal was overpriced for what it was, although it was a good portion. Could have done with an extra quilt or blanket as the room was quite chilly.

My business is within the pet industry so my dogs always travel with me, I find the Commodore one of the most Pet Friendly Hotels with the staff being very kind to the dogs. This makes a business trip far more enjoyable.

The staff are very friendly, the evening meal and breakfast was very good The room was a little tired in its decor, the television was very small and placed where you could not see it when in bed. There was no hot water on both mornings we were there, I had to ask for a hairdryer at reception.
