Good value for money (for London). Great location - immediate proximity to Hyde Park makes it an ideal place to saty for those (like me) who love to go for an early morning or late evening run but don't like running through busy and polluted streets. Hotel was clean, staff friendly and the continental breakfast buffet hadevrything you would want.

This hotel is in a very nice, central and quiet neighbourhood on the edge of Hyde Park and close to Paddington Station. The standard rooms are small but adequate. On our second stay, we had an executive suite room which was a good size for a central London hotel. They also provide a very good continental breakfast.

The location was just where we wanted to be. The standard rooms were not as those shown on the website, maybe those shown were delux rooms. The lift only would hold one person plus one set of luggage.

There was no lift serving the side of our wing. But having said that, I am thankful for the porter's service.

A central location, good atmosphere , friendly helpful staff, very quiet at night (which in central London is wonderful). Good breakfast Overall a good experience & I would stay there again, as long as I got a decent room and not one of the poor , quality , tiny rooms (see below) Booked a Executive room, they 1st gave me a very poor, tiny room. I had to insist on them giving me what I ordered. But when I complained they gave me a really nice room (just what I ordered). But its not nice to feel that they where trying to palm you off with a bad room, and if you don't complain they get away with it. Carpets in the rooms dirty, because they are cream they show all the marks. Noisy building works that they dont mention when you book

Within walking distance of Paddington Station, bus route, underground, Hyde Park and Serpentine. Also near to restaurants and picture house. Good price at time of booking. Really enjoyed our short stay. Key to balcony did not work. A lack of milk and biscuits in room

The location was ideal for exploring London with good bus and tube links close by and a lovely stroll across Hyde Park would get you to the Musemn Quarter or towards Marble Arch and Oxford Street. Our room was super and quiet with a very good selection for breakfast. All in all we were very impressed and will stay there again. The inner fire door was very good but when open obstructed the television but this was a very minor issue and did not detract from our thouroughly enjoying our stay.

Excellent location close to Kensington gardens and Hyde Park. Very convenient. Rooms are very small with only one small cupboard and not enough space to put suitcases. A double room is not really suitable for 2 people.

The staff were excellent. The room was a bit small but had everything in it that we needed. The continental breakfast included in the price was superb. The location, near to Paddington and to Hyde Park was wonderful. We are already talking about a return trip. The hotel room was very hot and it took us one night to figure out how to turn the heating off!!

The Commodore is extremely well placed for a "city break" with Lancaster Gate tube no more than 5 minutes away and Hyde Park almost across the road. A smaller, intimate hotel complete with Victorian Lounge with roaring fire, a small but very cosy bar further along the corridor, both of which are very relaxing after a day’s walking around London. We stayed in an "Executive" Double room which was spacious and clean with a large and comfortable bed. However, we did complain about the noise. The hotel staff are very approachable, pleasant and welcoming. Continental breakfast was plentiful. I feel this hotel would appeal to anyone on business or for middle aged couples but not be too good for a family with young children. Although our room was an "Executive" Double, it not an entirely pleasant stay. We both noted how nice it was that the hotel was placed in a quiet street and we were looking forward to a peaceful night’s sleep - which we had, for a while. We did not realise we were next to the laundry room until we were awoken at 5.15 am by a very loud and animated conversation going on next door. Couldn't understand the language and we thought it may be other guests, but no, it was the hotel staff, who were taking out either laundry or garbage to be collected. The conversation was joined by much slamming of doors, and I mean "slamming” and lots of thumping along the hard wood floor, and further loud conversation out on the pavement in front of our room. This carried on for 10 minutes! There was absolutely no consideration for any of the guests who may have been trying to sleep and no attempt whatsoever to be quiet. We did complain to the young lady manning the reception desk in the morning and although very nice indeed and apologetic, she did try to “shift the blame” to the people doing the collection. I informed her that this was not the case as the noise and animated chatting started from inside the hotel, and what’s more both that and the “clunking” along the wooden floor boards continued on several occasions later on during the course of the morning when the lorry had long since gone. The Receptionist did assure me that she would tell the Manager of our complaints and I asked her to ensure that the staff are reminded that there may well be guests trying to sleep at 5.15am! In short don’t stay in room g5!

The rooms were larger than I usually associate with the houses around Paddington/Kensington. They were tastefully decorated in antiques and panelling. Room was clean and well stocked with minibar and coffee makings. The women at the desk were polite and helpful. We were on the 6th floor so we abandoned our luggage to the bell boy who brought it up promptly. The booking.com price was good value for this hotel. They also included a continental breakfast which was very good and had eggs, meat, cheese, yoghart, cereals, buns, croissants, juices, tea and coffee. Rather more than we expected. We really enjoyed this hotel and would return again. As in similar buildings of this era the hallways were narrow and there were little steps going here and there. The elevator was miniscule. Only room for 2 really- and that's without luggage. One at a time with luggage. Can't complain though, the last hotel we stayed in, in this area didn't have an elevator at all and we had to walk several flights of stairs.

The Commodore Hotel is located near to Hyde Park and about 5 minutes walk to the underground which brings you to the center and all the touristic attractions. The floors in the Commodore Hotel are wooden which makes the rooms noisy. You can hear people walking in their room above and near you.

staff and cleanliness, location, very good breakfast, nicely renovated interiors (common spaces - lounges, restaurant, etc) there was no insulation of the rooms - as if the windows were open - while it was freezing outside!!! real need to urgently invest in that! our twin room was quite small.
