You will be well looked after at Hylands with its clean, comfortable accommodations and warm, friendly atmosphere. Bus and train service to central Nottingham are close to the guesthouse.

Nothing apart from its location.
Everything especially its customer services! It is either you take anything or leave everything! What a shame of an hospitality business in the 21st century and in a developed world!
Booked his for my son and 4 friends. They said it was an excellent place to stay the breakfast was very good and they would stay again and recommend the hotel to others.
No negatives to mention
Room too small. no where to hang cloths. no shelf. to open to noise. walls to thin.People booking should be told rebuilding is going on. health and safty marking not present were there was danger for poor sighted people; those with limited awareness.
Not much at all.
No bathroom door not enuf power sockets no shower curtain in my room. My friends room the ceiling was leaking wall paper off the walls very cold in the room ceiling tiles missing overall not a good place to stay.
my room the staff the great breakfast
the tight squeeze between tables in the dining room. the microwave needs cleaning
I work over the internet via VPN and the internet service works perfect for my needs. The staff are all amazingly friendly and helpful. They truly strive to give the best service. Breakfast is buffet style and tastes great - eggs, hash browns, bacon, sausage, beans, cereal, toast and juice - all are refilled fresh constantly throughout the available times. Maid service comes daily and the towels are awesome. I originally booked 1 week and then decided to continue on for my duration in the UK... 90 day visa reset period for Germany. If/when I come back to the UK, I would stay here again. FYI: Room 14 is awesome :D
The UK has a smoking ban so the entire hotel is non smoking... guess it keeps the place smelling better too...
The owner very helpful and friendly. Good breakfast and comfy bed. Very good value for money would visit again !
Good to see management assisting staff.
Can not say there was particularly anything that we did not like.
Large warm room with good ensuite. Friendly staff.
Room was fine got perfect wifi staff friendly nice cold beer after work hot breakfast to wake up to
My room was to hot first night. Staff sorted it out there and then brill.
Mould in bathroom Shower door doesn't close - bathroom flooded Wifi doesn't work Old uncomfortable bed Thin walls - can hear everything
It must be the worst hotel on Nottingham! Never been to such a dirty hotel in my life. Not any standards of cleanness.
what more do people expect for that price
Staff were helpful. Reasonable choice at this budget.
What did I like , should thT be what didn't I like
Omg this is the worst place i have stayed in , fawlty towers would be heaps better . Bed springs stuck in you so doubled quilt over me! Shower was clogging up and leaking water on floor tv cable stapled to wall. Had to ask for towel then reply was this is the first time I've seen them folded there usually creased up, ( says the employee) I was omg
The staff were so helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them. and an excellent breakfast
The mattresses have seen better days
Staff were not friendly and were non-existance! Room was tidy and dirty. Wallpaper peeling off walls, curtains torn and dirty, bedsheets not clean (they smelt of BO and had blood on them). Opened window to get rid of smell, smokers were beneath window. Bathroom not clean, toilet not flushed, no towels. Tried to speak to staff, got no co-operation, was very rude. Slept on a blanket from car for night. Then found out springs were coming through matress. Breakfast not fresh. Mine was very cold and when I asked for it to come back to me fully cooked and hot, they put in the microwave opposite to where I was sitting. Sausage were bright pink in the middle, so didn't bother. When handed keys back, we wanted to speak to manager, but he did not want to speak to us - I wonder why!!
The reception staff were extremely friendly but sorry to say - absolutely nothing else!
Place was filthy. Bed had springs sticking out and very uncomfy, light had no shade only bare bulbs. Smoke detector covered with black tape. Shower door wouldn't close so floor got soaked (which was Lino so very slippy) showerhead and entire bathroom filthy. Building work being carried out externally and no lights on - too much to list!
This B&B was close to my meeting point. No Bed bugs and I did not get food poisoning.
The B&B is very run down, with lots of damage in the rooms, internal walls. They said this was down to party they had in previously, but the damage looked old. I thought about a finding a different B&B, but as it was after 10pm and it was only one night I put up with it. The fire alarm was set off twice in the night, which did not help my prep for my meeting. Breakfast was basic.
nothing ,didn't bother to let me know that there wasn't a room for me as they had a flood, travelled all the way from torquay. in fact they were decorating in the reception area total dead loss !!!!
We have stayed before and use for the convenience of position near family and because we travel with a dog
The current state of the place. in fairness the owners told us they had just taken over and renovations were taking place so we expected this, but not the fact that the room had not been checked, no toilet roll, towels or light bulbs that did not work. On pointing this out, things were put right
Our room was very big and had tv, tea & coffee facilities, fresh towels
Stairs were being decorated so at the moment they are bare with no bannister just the fittings
Hotel room unclean, dated , tiny, toilet had a massive gaping crack, shower seal mouldy, we booked because there was an option of gluten free breakfast as I am coeliac and staff didn't even know what that meant, so I went without (which was a blessing when I saw and smelled so called breakfast )
Mold in the shower
