The very new owner was very friendly and is in the process of adding new rooms and then plans refurbishing the existing rooms. He is also looking at the option of increasing the parking spaces available. When the work is do e I think that this will make a good quality hotel there is work to do but the owner is aware of the situation and the moment and I know that he will do well.
Breakfast not the best presented and table cloths not very clean. No serviettes at all ! Staff so so but need guidance.
Staff were good. Breakfast was good
No tv remote. No socket near tea tray had to put kettle on floor near tv.
Staff seemed friendly, room layout was nice, big bathroom with big bath.
There was no room in the carpark when we arrived, I ended up parking on the next street over. Cars were blocked in and access to the hotel was blocked by parked cars. There were new rooms being constructed and a lot of noise early in the morning from power tools and builders. Tools were left out in the alley to our room and there was a mountain of bed sheets at the bottom of the stairs for the 3 days we were there. Breakfast was cold and cutlery wasn't clean. Plugs were hanging off the wall and spiders all over the ceiling. We had a knock on the door in the morning from a member of staff even though we had the 'do not disturb' sign displayed. I could hear next door in the bath and we could clearly hear the television from the room below. Could not access WiFi, we had to get out of bed and point the remote at the TV to change channel. There was no coffee in the room, only tea. Hot jets in bathtub did not work and water took a while to heat up.
warm greeting on arrival, was explained how to get to our room, offered wifi code and door security code and how to use them, breakfast was ok.
room clearly not cleaned up from previous occupants, bed was messy and slept in...no duvet cover!, bin full, shelves in bathroom had soap/toothpaste over them, toilet wasn't flushed. bed was extremely old and every movement pinged and twanged.
Bed and shower were very clean.
Room was so small it should be described as a closet. cabling to TV was not possible to avoid. No clothes space, not even a hook to hang clothes on. Door to bathroom uncloseable. People selling drugs outside bedroom window at 4.00 am.
wifi poor bed very poor -mattress cheap very small room builders on site 06;30/noisey breakfast warm at best pets barking in rooms kettle cable did not reach plug from table/mrs burnt finger on pulling plug from socket indicates wiring problem/and or faulty kettle I would not recommend unless you are desperate sad place to call hotel avoid unless emergency
Parking was a nightmare, rubbish, timber and vans blocking the tiny car park, rudest staff ever( referring to the after hours member of staff with a Scottish accent) , in short I have never encountered such a poor all round so called hotel in over 25 years all over the UK, it's cheap for a good reason, would never stay there again if they pay me.
The staff was nice, and the wifi and TV worked well.
Where to start? Our bathroom didn't have any doors!!! The entrance doors were not actually real doors but balcony doors. There wasn't a proper window and the air in the room was so hot because we couldn't adjust temperature. Bed was really uncomfortable and the towels were not clean; they had stains and hairs from former guests. All in all, we are not satisfied.
There is free onsite parking and direct access from the main road. The low price compared to nearby hotels.
The hotel is undergoing refurbishment at the moment so it is a bit unfair to critise anything.
The room was not cleaned during our stay nor were the beds made. There were piles of sheets left in the corridor during the whole of our 3 day stay. The room was like a sauna because of a broken radiator valve. There was mould in the shower and a damp patch on the ceiling. The main light in the bedroom was only partially functioning
The Manager did breakfasts and was very polite and helpful to people when hewas there
I couldn't turn the key and was locked in, I called out the window. Afterwards I was told to use the bolts but one didn't work and the other only half went across. No sleep. No chair, no bath mat, No table for kettle near plug, no telephone to reception, no serviettes....
parking lot had corner full of very old garbage. shower very moldy. room floor and carpet very dirty. no bath mat, no glasses in room, no napkins at breakfast, very poor service at breakfast.
Staff were helpful, the location was good for accessing central Nottingham and the room/breakfast cost was low.
The existing accommodation is basic and very tired although major refurbishment is ongoing.
wifi and television in room
Poor breakfast with no coffee No door to bath room no way of controlling temperature in bedroom - too hot
Absolutely nothing apart from a flat screen TV was working nothing else was up to standard.
The room was small without heating so you had to leave the door open to get heating from the rest of the hotel. Dripping shower very annoying, Breakfast is there but its uneatable. Prefer not to have anything. bathroom smelt as if it hadn't been cleaned carpet dirty. Take slippers or risk the consequences. Awful experience.
Almost everything. The "hotel" has clearly gone downhill (rapidly) since earlier reviews. The rooms require a complete redecoration. In their current state the location felt unsafe. The fact that doors showed signs of being kicked in added to this feeling along with building works that made a building site look more attractive as an option. The price was cheap but not nearly enough to counter the negatives
Its dirty, dungy, disgusting, unsafe, dark, damp, cheap and mouldy. I paid £70 for a night it was the only hotel available in Notts at the last minute. I got there to have to wait for a receptionist. I got a guy in a tracksuit telling me I didn't have a room. After some explanation he then lead me down a dark unsafe alley outside to my room, which was basically a damp dirty shed. Im surprised I didn't get any sort of disease due to damp/mould/cold. This place shouldn't be allowed to function Im sure it breaks a lot of health and safety regulations also. I'd rather stay in a dog kennel.
Ongoing building work started early and was noisy.
The owners dis not notify me that they will be carrying out repairs. So there was so much noise from the drilling machines yet I needed to sleep during the day as I work night shifts . The bed was very uncomfortable as well.
Staff friendly and helpful, room not so hot you couldn't breath, which I often find the case. Outlook over playing fields and very peaceful, our room being on the back. Thought it excellent budget accommodation
Could have probably done with a head board on the bed.
the staff were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble.. room 9 was ok..new tv but I couldn't reach the plug !!! I'm 4ft 11...lol
I couldn't get the shower to work..... mattress was lumpy..
Clean basic comfortable room ... Not a bad choice .. A little run down but in process of being refurnished
The electricity in the room regularly went off the room was damp I was told there would be breakfast at 6.30am. At 7am no sign of anyone. A couple of guests and I looked around to find someone. they went in the kitchen and declared it a health hazard and advised not eating there. Left without seeing any staff
