After a tiring four hour drive, turning into the the Angler was uplifting, with the sun sparkling on the waters of the Thames and the late afternoon sun catching the spire of the church on the opposite bank. The signs that this was going to be special...and it was! My only complaint about the Angler is that it is not yet in the twenty first century with regard to the internet. It must get broadband wireless internet available in every room with a fast and excellent connection. At present the fron desk wiill five a very short cable to get on line in your room but the power and speed of the connection is very poor - I could not even load YouTube.

The food and staff were first rate. Noise from a function and then the people going to the rooms kept us awake until 1am, not great and we were never told.

I think it is a great example of a traditional hotel brought well into the modern world. It has retained a great deal of integrity while still being modern and effiently operated I would like to have free wifi in the rooms and ipod docking as well.

Location in lovely small town and only 25 monutes from Heathrow. The standard of servicing the rooms was poor. The bed was poorly made, bins were'nt cleaned and soap was only provided following a second request.

The location was excellent as it was a lovely walk to the high street which took a few minutes. The hotel had a lovely traditional feel to it and we were upgraded to a four poster bed room which was excellent, very spacious and clean and very comfortable with a fabulous view of the river. The bathroom was very large and well equipped. The food in the bar was not up to standard, we ordered sandwiches and they had no flavour to them at all which was quite disappointing as the restaurant has excellent reviews.

Beautiful and central location. Staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly. Finding the rooms is a little 'Fawlty Towers'-esque. Prices are high for rooms, meals and drinks.

This was a real treat- Excellent room and facilites, helpful staff. Good service and breakfast The thump of the disco music for a wedding at the hotel made sleep difficult even thought the hotel had tried very hard to provide a room as far away as possible

The location on the R.Thames, the quality of the staff and their numbers. The ambience of the hotel itself. My one disappointment was that having used my bank card to leave a depoit on arrival, £450, I not only had my funds tied up for that amount plus the hotel bill itself, almost £800 in total. Fortunately my own bank were able to release the initial sum immediately I returned home.

I was travelling on my own, a senior lady. I was well looked after, all the staff were friendly and attentive. My room was very comfortable, and I could look out on to the river. Both the restaurants were of a high standard, with well-sourced food and a comprehensive wine list. Breakfast offered many healthy delights as well as the Standard English. I would recommend this hotel without reservation.
