Aston Conference Centre

Good breakfast & pleasant staff. The location is good being close enough to the city centre but as it is on Aston Uni campus it is quiet.

It is very bland and walls are thin but it seems to fit a niche above the travelodge type accommodation and more expensive options. The price is ok but pushing it.

its a university campus so it has facilities on the site. The bar & breakfast facilities were good. I booked because it was near the city centre & had a pool. This is a Victorian building with lane swimming & fitness facilities attended by students. it closes at 6:45pm, women only wednesdays.

The corridors & room was basic and much institutionalized, as you would expect. To market the rooms as a hotel, when not attending a course, is a little optimistic. The price, I feel, was a little high for the accommodation provided, unless they have higher qulaity rooms for outsiders.

Fine hotel for business. I used it to attend N.E.C. A taxi drive to fair ground is about 18GBP to 22GBP. It is in Astons down town so there are several good restaurants withing 5 minute walking distance. The last time I staid in this hotel I picked standard room, which is not so good (very small and you have to walk long coridors to get to it) This time I picked superior room - thats much better. Good luck!

The room suffered from very thin walls with poor sound attenuation which, when you are situated adjacent to an "active" couple and their friends, makes for a disturbing night. Couldn't possibly recommend anyone to repeat our experience.

Better signage for the Hotel entry / reception area would help.

on top of Aston University, modern, nice looking room, location good as dropped my sone at uni and then easy to get to a business meeting south or birmingham in morning (apart from delay getting car released from car park as told it would be open still before 9am to get out!)

freezing water from taps +shower in morning. told i shd have rang reception +could have bn provided with another room! a bit of a pain when you rushing to leave! i think hot water is pretty basic thing! compensated me though after a lot of thought(!). one chair in room not cleaned properly. one of the glasses in bathroom was dirty. no tissues in bathroom container. no fridge in room. have to pay for wifi. parking isnt explained properly..i was told to remove car by 9am when in fact bariiers already down and had to call car park company and ask them to give me code to let me out- while standing calling them in the snow late for a business meeting, apparently reception should have given me the code no...

i enjoyed the facilities avialable for me and the quality of the decor around the conference centre even at the standard rate.

It was extremely pleasant. The room was clean and new, bed was comfortable and facilities were readily available.

The air treatment system was a bit noisy in the room. It was difficult to locate the place with my navigator especially if one does not realise that the Hotel is inside the Business School.

Needed more staff in the Restaurant Bar in the evening. Slightly impersonel rooms, only one pillow each. Restaurant lacked atmosphere

Room was obviously clean even if quite basic. Tea/coffee making facilities including mineral water and biscuits! Wifi is free. Shower gels etc. Restaurant has good value cooked English b'fast and evening menu offered a good limited range menu de jour which was good value and very edible. Overall, better than anywhere else for the price.

TV is basic 5 channels and it can be a bit noisy as you hear doors banging, voices in corridor and adjacent rooms. Not a problem to a towny used to a constant level of noise but disturbing if you are used to a silent night.
