Distance from restaurants
Warm welcome, comfortable room and good breakfast. easy distance to my daughters house and good bus links into oxford.
water pressure in shower was temperamental. car parking spaces quite small .
Entrance hall and dining room were nice.
Room door did not lock automatically. Had to explicitly lock with key which is easily forgotten. Desk was very small. No comfy chair to watch tv.
Pleasant & helpful greeting on arrival.
The photograph of the garden is misleading as this has now been built on. Didn't like the instant coffee at breakfast.
Off street parking (although only 3 cars can park there and they have 12 rooms).
Tiny twin room. So many stairs to lug a suitcase! We were on the third floor..... We were told that using a credit card would incur a surcharge, although this was never mentioned on the website. Generally stingy attitude with everything. Garden was off limits due to renovations, this wasn't on the website, where they make a point of being able to use the lovely gardens! Tiny TV. WiFi didn't work in our room too weak a signal.
If using the credit card we had to pay provision. During stay there was a renovation
room good, breakfast good.
location, traffic quite noisy early morning.
The high standard of the room. The helpfulness of the lady in charge and the fact that she allowed us to park there for four hours after checking out.
Location, breakfast, friendly cook/server at breakfast.
Small rooms; no staff around except at breakfast; poor wifi; cost; credit card service fee; hard beds
No restrictions on coming and going.
Clean, functional room.
Abrupt, unfriendly staff - asked for payment before even seeing the room. Tiny box room at the top of the building - very cramped for my mother, who is claustrophobic and got no sleep because of it. Nowhere to be aside from in the bedroom - garden was under repair and lounge was locked in front of us after we had checked in. Nothing nearby except the hospital.
breakfast was good and plentiful, staff were pleasant and helpful, good price and slept well in comfortable beds. would definitely stay again.
room very small for twin room. no bedside lamps, back rooms at the bed and breakfast were very quiet but also very dark if you had to get up in the night. bathroom extractor fan very noisy and lengthy
breakfast for vegetarians congested dinining room, shower
Very clean nice and modern room. Great breakfast, wi-fi included and parking.
Breakfast, nice lady at the breakfast.
we were in a room close to the main road, and it took me hours to fall asleep (constant traffic). the room was ok but a bit small, the location was ok, but not at a walking distance (had to take a bus or the car). It took me ages to understand how to get hot water from the shower (an explanation would have been useful). We had just left Bath the day before where we stayed in a comfy and central B&B much cheaper at a walking distance from the centre of Bath, this may have influenced our opinion. Breakfast was nice (very nice chocolate for our daughter) but too early (final time at 9am).
Conifers is a lovely house. We were in room five, which gets nice morning light (pull the blind before you retire!) and is generously sized. The proprietors are friendly and the breakfast is very good. We enjoyed our stay!
We found the water pressure in the shower a bit lacking. It is some distance to central Oxford, which was not an issue for us at all but may not suit all visitors.
The staff was very helpful and served a great breakfast. All in all a fine place to stay in for 1 night. For a longer holiday maybe a hotel with larger rooms. Service of the staff was great even though they were not the owners.
Very small room for three persons and noisy because it was on the street side.
Comfortable bed, quiet, very clean room with its own entrance, friendly owners, tasty breakfast
Currently renovating the garden which caused an issue with parking and the garden was unavailable. 3% charge on card payments - I made sure to find a cash machine instead!
Small friendly hotel. Good location if attending O2 as just a short taxi ride away.
Small carpark meant double parking and shower pressure is low.
Large room at the rear, quiet, good brekkie
Worn carpet with carpet tacks coming through
room was well appointed and clean
Despite requesting a receipt for cash paid we were not given one. There was no email address for subsequently asking for one online. We needed a receipt to clasim expenses.
Breakfast scrambled egg and bacon very good. Tasty, presumably local, back bacon. Sophisticated shower unit. Room a reasonable size as was bathroom. Great location for local hospitals (purpose of visit) on direct bus route. Relatively quiet.
Bed possibly just that bit firmer than should prefer. Breakfast coffee poor so asked for it to be replaced by a breakfast (stronger) tea. This too failed this test. Too weak. Times could be later! Shower unit could, perhaps, have some instruction, as no discernible markings, to avoid risk of scalding!
The cost was excessive for the facilities provided.
The provision of a way to enter the house after last check-in time. Appreciated the phone call to make us aware of this provision. Great room and facilities in room. Powerful shower Quiet
