The manageress was very welcoming and wished a very pleasant farewell. Location was perfect for me as I was visiting family in the Churchill hospital. The decor and condition of the room was very nice, and very clean. The variety of herbal teas on offer at breakfast was great.
I originally tried to make a reservation by phone but there was no answer and my voice mail wasn't returned. I was charged a premium rate for booking online even the website said it was the standard rate. I mentioned this to the manageress who apologised for not returning my call but still charged me the premium. I noticed there was a guest house next door and looked at their tariff (the single room was £15 cheaper). Although the teas were nice, the full English was basic. Value bread, caged eggs, cheap sausages etc. If they made some small changes like some Cumberland sausages, free range eggs and some farmhouse bread it really would make a difference and justify the rates of the rooms. There was confusion over which table to sit at breakfast by all of the guest until another guest said it was by room number - this is a good system but we should have been informed. The shower door was very stiff - I managed but an elderly person may have found this a problem.
As this is one of the most reasonably priced places to stay around Oxford, I was not sure what to expect, however the room was clean, the bed was comfy, breakfast was lovely, save for some of the other guests who were rude (but dealt with very amicably). Plus Oxford centre was only £6 away by Saturday night taxi!
Access to the rear car park is TIGHT. I would recommend that the 4x4 owners reading this arrive early to park at the front as I only just got my Audi A4 through the gap without a scrape.
Nice clean and warm rooms. Nice hosts.
The lovely garden on the pics doesn't exist any more. 4more rooms were built in back and ground all concrete now. Lost it's flair. Also parking in back is very narrow. Additionally there was some automatic lighting going on and off till late night and doors of back buildings have glass in.

Cleanliness and comfort helpfulness of staff
Temperature was very hot Not able to pay by debit card and because of the surcharge on credit card, felt pressured to pay in cash Limited parking Poor shower water dribbled out
Nice room, clean and comfy bed.
2% charge extra if you pay by card. No told before. No change at all in case you pay by cash. No friendly staff in the breakfast. Not coming back here ever.
comfortable, cosy, warm and spotless clean, Richard was very helpful, and friendly, lent us an umbrella , and let us leave our car at back of guest house even though we had checked out, we were going into the city for the rest of the day and didn't want to take our car, so this was very helpful, breakfast was lovely and plenty of it, would highly recommend
Very friendly host, comfortable surroundings, was able to check out late for no extra charge.
Asked for breakfast at 7 as we start work at 8 no chance whatsoever.
Room 7 In the roof, but very well appointed and certainly not overlooked! The twin beds were extremely comfortable with soft linen. Power shower, heaven! We would stay again.
Easy walking distance to the Nuffield Orthopedic Hospital, and a bus stop for the bus to center of Oxford was just around the corner.
It was very conveniently located, near bus stop and park&ride . The room was excellent, the staff was friendly. Breakfast was very good .
We had a family room, with 4 beds, with a kitchen area, but the seating only accommodate 2 people on a very small sofa. 2 more chairs or another big sofa is needed. Although the staff was very efficient, there was no personal touch, nobody spoke to us. No advice was given about attractions in the area or how to get around. It did feel very impersonal.
It was a nice Hotel helping Staff and lovely location and a good price.
The shower water pressure was as good as zero it was weaker than the tap. The breakfast wasn't very nice.
Breakfast was cooked with amazing efficiency, room was reasonably comfortable.
Owners have the impression that we were a slight inconvenience for wanting to pay by card and were not very welcoming.
Beautifully furnished room.Spotlessly clean. Pleasant dining room with excellent breakfast menu. Proprietor and staff friendly and helpful. Convenient situation with parking.
Distance from restaurants
Warm welcome, comfortable room and good breakfast. easy distance to my daughters house and good bus links into oxford.
water pressure in shower was temperamental. car parking spaces quite small .
Entrance hall and dining room were nice.
Room door did not lock automatically. Had to explicitly lock with key which is easily forgotten. Desk was very small. No comfy chair to watch tv.
Pleasant & helpful greeting on arrival.
The photograph of the garden is misleading as this has now been built on. Didn't like the instant coffee at breakfast.
Off street parking (although only 3 cars can park there and they have 12 rooms).
Tiny twin room. So many stairs to lug a suitcase! We were on the third floor..... We were told that using a credit card would incur a surcharge, although this was never mentioned on the website. Generally stingy attitude with everything. Garden was off limits due to renovations, this wasn't on the website, where they make a point of being able to use the lovely gardens! Tiny TV. WiFi didn't work in our room too weak a signal.
If using the credit card we had to pay provision. During stay there was a renovation
room good, breakfast good.
location, traffic quite noisy early morning.
The high standard of the room. The helpfulness of the lady in charge and the fact that she allowed us to park there for four hours after checking out.
Location, breakfast, friendly cook/server at breakfast.
Small rooms; no staff around except at breakfast; poor wifi; cost; credit card service fee; hard beds
No restrictions on coming and going.
