Lovely old hotel with oodles of charm. Sam was a great host who looked after me well. Wouldn't hesitate to return.
Very friendly, evening meal excellent, good value cooked to order. Breakfast great. Really enjoyed our break. Plenty to do locally
The food was fantastic, nothing was to much trouble. Informal and very friendly. Location good for visiting Bath, Lacock Abbey, Avebury and Devizes.
good breakfast ,clean comfortable bed
shower tray high and slippery with no hand rail. other room bath very deep and the shower head had no fixing
This a comfortable family run place to stay. Nothing is too much trouble and you are not treated as just another paying customer. My wife and I stayed here recently while I was working. My wife was very well looked after in my absence, even being allowed the use of the facilities although we had checked out. On a previous stay we had one of Sam's excellent evening meals, but it is worth noting that you should advise you wish to have a meal when booking as the restaurant is not always open.
Parking can be a little restricted if it is busy, especially for larger vehicles.
My single room in the stable block had everything I needed, comfortable bed, en suite facilities, quiet and peaceful setting - plus kettle, tv, toiletries and hair dryer. The bar area and dining room were cosy and welcoming - and the breakfasts were delicious!
The greeting by the staff and their warmth and friendliness. I also liked the layout of the room especially the bathroom - it was sheer luxury!
Nothing springs to mind.
Great character, very helpful staff
Good food and friendly staff
Very friendly and helpful staff, excellent proprietor good room and facilities and excelent food.
Nice bathroom, characterful old house. Friendly cat.
Traffic noise early morning .Waiting 20 mins for cooked breakfast to arrive, veggie sausage cold inside, solid poached egg. Decor showing cracks & peels.
The Owners and Staff really looked after us. They could not have been more attentive. We felt really relaxed and comfortable for the short time we stayed.
No light over the mirror in the bathroom , for ease of shaving. But a minor complaint more a recommendation.
very small rooms not interested in evening meel
very poor service at evening meal
The food at the Conigre Rooms was outstanding. This is a really welcoming place to stay and very convenient for exploring Wiltshire.
I can't think of anything I didn't like.
Food great, both evening meal and breakfast. Lounge conservatory and outdoor space was lovely
Thought single rooms were very small and given the price not good VFM This was offset by good food and use of lounge etc.
A lovely warm and friendly welcome, fresh milk for our tea in the room. The hotel has a lovely old English feel and the stable block bedroom we had was comfy, modern and quiet. Personal service, delicious breakfast, friendly hotel cat!
The food was excellent
I was made very welcome right from the start. Breakfast was lovely and served very quickly. There was plenty of hot water and the room was warm. My host was very friendly and she gave me plenty of ideas for things to do.
The bed was a bit 'rickety'! The shower head and 'sprinklers' could have been cleaner.
Very friendly owners made us feel very welcome throughout the stay. Nothing too much trouble.
With the help of our Prue Leith trained hostess we chose our evening meal while having drinks in the lounge. The meal itself was excellent and the service was both friendly and efficient. A very pleasant atmosphere throughout.
Lovely hosts - friendly, helpful, accommodating; excellent food (rustled up delicious vegan fayre at short notice), tasty breakfast; very comfortable bed; beautiful, friendly cat; lovely garden.
Shame the Wi-fi was very slow and almost non-existent in the bedroom. The shower over the bath wasn't very good.
Didn't have evening meal but the breakfast was ok
It looked grubby and I didn't like the idea of a cat running around the place. I didn't feel comfortable about the cleanliness.
friendly and good value for money clean and tidy - as advertised
