With its grand original Victorian façade, this AA 3-star hotel has superb facilities and a great location, right on the promenade, enjoying panoramic views over the coastline of the North-West.

Position was good for cycling, near the front, central for finding somewhere reasonable for tea, warm, and clean and free car parking on the front of the hotel. The free breakfasts were an extra bonus. Plenty of hot water eased our muscles after a full day cycling. A great fish and chip supper recommended by Derick.
The smell of cigarette smoke in the entrance hall was very off putting, but that didn't extend to our room or the dining room, it appeared to be caused by a permanent resident who smoked on the doorstep outside.
The bed was spot on. Comfortable, clean and large enough for two big people. I think it was the best bed we've had the pleasure to sleep in. The breakfast was tasty and large. The shower was good with a constant flow of warm water. Visit this place!
The bathroom whilst not spotless was not 'hotel' clean. This is a minor criticism and will not stop us from staying there again.
I enjoyed the stay the room was nice & big which you don't really get in B&Bs which was great, nice big TV also. Staff made you feel welcome.
They only downside was our neighbours were in & out all night over banging... we didn't want to disturb the manager but he could'nt apologies more but we will be booking again
Breakfast on the first morning was lovely. 2nd morning not so good. They had run out of beans?? (Didn't think hotels could run out of beans!!!!) and the mushrooms were like rubber bullets.
Being told off for not checking in by 7pm even though we drove down after work through appalling weather to get there. Had to be moved rooms as the key stuck in the food and would not budge! Owners were going on their holidays the day after we left and I kinda got the impression we were a bit of a nuisance being there that weekend.
This hotel was clean, was nice to find big bath sheets. Hospitality tray was good with coffee tea and biscuits. The hoteliers made us very welcome and the full English breakfast was excellent.
I found the double bed fine but my wife found the bed and pillows too hard for her.
owners were very friendly even though we complained about the room they were still very nice.breakfast was good.
the room was damp also smelt of damp.no where to do your hair.also the shower room was very tiny and could only just get in it. and not very clean.very dated room.what a disappointment.
position, food, staff.
parking, no lifts, unpredictable shower.
Breakfast was alright. Could have had a bigger selection ,put on some fruit.
Smell on entering the building. The bathroom very small.water from the shower only a dribble no power.and wash basic in the bedroom so unable to wash hands after using the toilet.doors not fitting and closing well. Parking poor.
Had a great weekend, very welcoming greeting. Location is excellent for the whole of the town centre and sea. Very warm and friendly hosts, room was clean and comfortable. Had 2 great nights un-interrupted sleep. Lovely well cooked breakfast and choice of cereals. I would not hesitate to stay here again when I'm back up that way.
Good sized room and en suite. Clean and tidy. Tea & coffee making facilities. Excellent, well-cooked breakfast. Friendly and helpful owners. Hotel is within easy walking distance of sea front, bus and train services, shops and restaurants. Free car parking.
Stayed in Room 6 which had strange plumbing noises coming from an adjacent room. No problem if the guests go to bed and get up at reasonable times.
clean room good breakfast good location free parking
very good location.very clean facilities. Nice and helpful stage.Nice food.
Hotel is in need of an overall and updating It needs decorating throughout Friendly reception but owners lack local knowledge
Good location for town and promenade. Rooms were clean.
Decor needs updating. Good breakfast but only if you like a fry up, no continental option at all, not even a banana. Ironing board had no cover and iron ruined a linen shirt. Very small car park: car was bumped by another resident, hotel owner was not helpful and CCTV camera was fake and therefore no recording. Shower in one room couldn't be swithced off unless you got out the shower. TVs were small for room size and ancient. Different wi-fi code in different rooms. Entire hotel needs an overhaul. Lots of stairs and no lift: would not suit anyone with a mobility problem.
Very good location and excellent breakfast
Room in need of refurbishment
The owners were a nice couple, breakfast good, location good,
Southport has gone down the tubes since I last visited.
Comfort and location. ..
Breakfast was good
The noisy road people from night clubs etc. everything needs updating and painting
Location is great for shops or shore. Proprietors were friendly and efficient. Breakfast was ample and well cooked. Cleanliness of rooms could not be faulted. Free parking on site
The owners were exceptionally friendly & helpful. The breakfast to was very good.
We just found the bathroom was very tiny & had the sink in the bedroom. Sufficient for just the two days we were there. There may have been other rooms with better facilities within the hotel.
Location was excellant Staff were friendly
Breakfast wasn't as good as i expected, sausages were terrible, but nice toast !
Very helpful staff. Comfortable room, cleaned to a high standard. Plenty of tea and coffee left in room. Really centrally located for all amenities. Will recommend to family and friends. Will definitely go back.
Friendly and extremely helpful staff--- helped with every request --Top Notch
Close to town and the prom, fair few pubs nearby including a Wetherspoons. A very good breakfast and you don't have to ask for more,it's offered
Bathroom a bit on the small side
