The rooms are spacious. Value for money stinks! Bathroom is filthy/dirty. Refrigerator hasn't been cleaned in ages - we found food 'Best before november 2011' !! 'Wardrobe' is a big word for bookcase and drawers. The so-called 'spacious dining area' is an old, wooden table with a tv on and 4 plastic chairs. The kitchen oven doesn't close unless you use a wooden stick. Connaught House doesn't live up to booking.com standards in our opinion.

Nothing- I paid for 4 nights in cash on arrival as demanded, but left after one foul night The ground-floor room I was given was immediately on a busy road approaching traffic lights. The noise, and the fact that it was impossible either to close the window or to draw curtains (there were only thin blinds that admitted full light) meant I had to leave after one dreadful night.

First of all, it isn't even a hotel. Took us half an hour to find the place. Actually had to park our car and head out looking for it. Feels like a shady operation and they wanted us to pay cash upfront as they don't accept cards. Never stayed in a hotel that did that. After that, it was fine. The rooms were alright but did not have toilets/bathrooms in them. We were sharing them with people from other rooms. Again, unexpected, inconvenient and pathetic! I would never have stayed in such a place anyways if there was a single hotel available in either Liverpool, Manchester or Bolton but it was the bank holiday weekend. The hotel owner is, by far, the rudest person I've met and went on threatening us over several things. Would absolutely never recommend this place to anyone. I would much rather sleep in my car the next time I can't find a hotel room!
