Our Head waiter and waitress were fantastic very friendly and helpful. Even helped us plan our trip to Greece!
Over too quickly!!
The food was excellent and the service good.
The lighting throughout was quite dim.
Pretty, old manor set in its own grounds
Lack of sleep. I was woken at 5am by what sounded like a blast furnace in the room next door. I can only assume my room was close to the hotel's heating boiler. Once it started, the noise continued until I checked out. I mentioned it to the check out staff but they didn't really care. Also, for a hotel of this quality I'd expect a gym- there isn't one.
The place is amazing, beautiful, feels like a palace, well, it is a palace. The surrounding park is also really nice.
The main hotel, staff, food , faultless, fantastic, magic, perfect place for any event with some class
Just make sure you get the room you book in the main hotel , Not 25 metres away out side the main hotel in an annex new build ,it takes the magic off your stay
Our third stay, overall great value, dinner and breakfast was excellent.
Bedroom & Bathrooms are very dark, could do with more light in the bathroom in particular.
Food and wine
We loved, the grounds, the hotel and how professional all the staff were. The hotel is beautiful and well kept.
We could have done with another comfy seat in the bedroom. Also I thought I'd left a necklace in the room. I sent an email early hours of the morning when I realised I couldn't find it. I rang and left a message, to get a reply to this took all day. Fortunately I found it later in the day in a very strange place.
It is quite unique Beautiful gardens Nice rooms Friendly staff
The room we had the conference in was freezing cold. The lunch buffet was awful - a combination of many things which simply did'nt go together - really disappointing Fan in our room would'nt go off so we got moved but the fan did the same thing in the new room?? Too tired to complain again.
We loved our nights stay at coombe abbey this was a Christmas present for us We are hoping to go back next year with family and friends when we renew our wedding vows at the venue
We only stayed the one night
Lovely relaxing atmosphere, great food, extensive wine list at reasonable prices.
Having read the dress code for the restaurant in the evenings I was disappointed to see at least 4 men in jeans, one of which also wore trainer type shoes. If there is a dress code it should be enforced. Lighting in room was not brilliant, could have benefitted from more lighting on the bathroom, make-up lighting.
not being able to get a table for 4 at dinner. we needed to order room service fir dinner with friends in the bedroom floor. not impressed.
Upon arrival the staff were friendly and also acknowledged that it was our wedding anniversary with a best wishes card in our room. Really nice place with great food and service
Nothing, everything was excellent
Building itself was beautiful
Restaurant was not big enough to accommodate all guest. Service could be improved.
Staff are really friendly and go out their way to help. Historical building and no spence was spared in the restoration. Really pleasant.
Wifi wasn't working on the day and was told they can't get anyone in because of holidays. I did request a four poster bed room but never got one. But room was nice.
Breakfast was good plenty of choice.
Coud not get a table for dinner, had to have it in room. Floorboards very noisy. People in next room had TV going till way after 4am would have thought there would have been better soundproofing.
Rooms, Food, service, gardens
one thing missing.. gym or spa.. else would have stayed longer
Lovely place, really friendly staff and good food.
No wifi in my room and the food in the evening was over priced.
The setting and building was lovely, very Harry Potter and the staff were all very courteous. Breakfast in the garden room was really good. Reserve the restaurant on booking to ensure a table, as non residents on this occasion seem to hold precedence.
On arriving we were told that the restaurant was full, no capacity for residents which in this location was unacceptable. We had an ajoining room which the occupants were extremely noisy, late at night, I complained to reception and it was dealt with.
service food staff friendly wonderful settings reindeer father christmas room settings would like the honeymoon suite next time
there was nothing to not like
The rooms are fabulous - it's like stepping back in time. The entire ambience of the abbey is historic. The gardens and the lake offer a view of tranquility from the room we were in.
Having to walk so far from the car park but realised later that there is a drop of point closer to the bridge.
Everything. Looking forward to going back in the spring
Rooms a bit tired
Beautiful atmospheric reception area
No way to turn off air conditioning
The building being old and well looked after has superb ambience. The room was unusual with it's corner bath, it had a lot of atmosphere. The fittings were very much in character with the building. There was no sense that anything modern had been added although obviously it had. The breakfast was lovely as was its conservatory setting. My visit, although only for one night, gave me added value as I have visited the park on quite a few occasions over the past 50 years or so. In fact I had not walked over the bridge since I was a child and my first colour photos were taken there.
The online booking could have been better, perhaps with room plans so that you could make your own selection. We were not aware that there were no ground floor rooms. The walk from the car loaded with our bags was difficult as my husband is registered disabled and I am recovering from major surgery. Perhaps a note saying we could off load by the bridge would have been helpful. My husband was disappointed he did not see a ghost !
