Everything was perfect lovely staff who could not be more pleasant n polite never stopped at a hotel that was so good even 5star 3 times the price absolute a1
Beautiful views. Ideal location (short drive from most amenities, i.e. Gatwick, London, Eastbourne, Brighton.) Bed was comfortable; bedding was pristine, bathroom clean (but a bit out-dated!). Tea and coffee making facilities provided.
It was all perfectly adequate for the price we paid.
The meal in the restaurant was expensive but excellent
The room was not good !...the carpet was threadbare..the bathroom was disgusting and the shower power was non existent !..we stayed in room 244.
Sewage smell, filthy bathroom, dirty pillows, hairs in bed, unmade bed, filthy mattress cover, carpet dirty, noisy room, lumpy mattress. Ruined my stay. ON YOUR RECOMMENDATION!!!!!!!
Hotel has a faded elegance but up close , scruffy. Quite nice bathroom
Our room was situated in the middle of about a hundred wedding guests rooms. It was an Indian ceremony and they must start early as from dawn they went from room to room talking v loudly and letting every door bang shut. No soundproofing at all, could even hear people using the bathroom. Also cushions on bed were disgustingly stained and smelly
Not a single thing, from the food, customer service, condition of the rooms everything was extremely poor
Worst experience, so shocked that it's a part of the millennium hotel group. Never again would I stay there or recommend anyone to stay. Dirty rooms and poor service I wouldn't even rate it as a 2 star hotel let alone 4.
Staff were pleasant
TV didn't work
The bed was very comfortable The room was ample size and cosy Nice location and grounds Free parking
Breakfast wasn't great with watery eggs Decor was very tired could do with a revamp Bath tub was too high to step down unless you're tall No air con or heating in room Elevators take forever to get to your floor you're better off walking
NOT VERY FLEXIBLE OR FRIENDLY HOTEL
Room was spacious and very clean
Wish breakfast was included for that price
Quite location, lovely grounds.
The Bar is old and needs refurbishment. It lacks atmosphere and the choice of beers is poor
Loved the whiskey tasting in the bar
good location on our journey
Confusion with the other Copthorne hotel nearby. TV reception on internet very poor. Mobile phone network poor
Travelling from Newcastle for a wedding in hot conditions and needed access to a shower before my room was available. No compromise on having the room early except to pay for a premium prices room. Very poor service
QUALITY OF FOOD VERY GOOD
VERY LITTLE OUTSIDE SITTING AREA NEAR THE BAR
Breakfast Balcony Evening meal was very good value
No air condition so rooms very hot No fan to compensate for lack of aircon Rooms are very tired More 3 star...not 4 Photos are better than rooms in person Some staff indifferent to me Very disappointing :(
Staff were friendly and helpful, especially restaurant staff at breakfast - nothing was too much trouble. however, I didn't like the assumption made, on check-in, that I would join the loyalty scheme.
Walking round the outside of the hotel after breakfast, I felt that the outside and rear were rather neglected and shabby.
Grimey. False fire alarm. All a bit dated
Staff polite and friendly. Breakfast acceptable. No aircraft noise. After our problem (see Dislikes) at checkout the manager was very sympathetic and gave us a good discount.
The first room we were allocated had a connecting door to the next room through which all conversations were totally audible. We were changed to a second room; a threadbare carpet and a non-functioning internal house phone. In general the decor a bit tired throughout the hotel. Not good value at the price we paid. Biggest problem was a wedding party the night we were there. A big group of thoughtless guests had a long and noisy conversation below our window from about 0200. They did not cease when we asked and as the internal phone didn't work we had to dress in order to go to reception to complain. Eventually they did go away but we had lost several hours of sleep. Of course weddings are fun and party noise is not the 'fault' of the hotel. But maybe the hotel could/should have kept the celebrations further away from the sleeping quarters.
Countryside surroundings Ample free parking.
Receptionist very off hand. Overcharged my credit card , they charged vat twice which meant I had to sort out a refund.
easy check in and check out. good facilities.
disgusting carpets in the rooms. needs renovation
The hotel is looking tired. Rather unpleasant looking carpet patterns throughout and bumpy floors along the corridors - feels like lumps of concrete under foot.
