Score from 601 reviews Superb
Went for a club room which included extras such as several soft drinks in room, two free drinks and crisps in the bar, free paper, and late check out (2pm). Very good value deal. Hotel is spotless and our large room was very quiet considering how close it is to main road and football stadium. Good location for the footie, rail station and a stroll into the City which is about 10 minutes away. Fantastic breakfast with friendly service (especially young Annie).
Can't think of any negatives. We will definately be returning.
It was Realy good so nothing
Good location, tasteful decor and good value for money
We liked the Sky Sports on the flat screen TV in our room. We liked the full English breakfast. The beds were comfy, the room was nice, you could walk into the town centre quite easily.
The lighting was a bit strange - quite dim in the room and so hard to read in bed and the bathroom lighting made it difficult to put your make up on! Probably too close to the football ground if Sheffield Utd were playing at home (which they weren't!)
Freshly prepared eggs at breakfast. Helpfulness and attention to detail of restaurant staff. Good parking if you want near city centre hotel, except match days
Lack of teletext on TV and no EPI. No showercap provided for the ladies
Very smart bathroom, good TV and useful mini fridge. Hotel handy for huge variety of multi-culti restaurants on London Road.
Shower control incomprehensible. Very lumpy duvet and bad stain on carpet. Chair too low to sit comfortably at desk. Some staff less than attentive at breakfast. Hotel's location not very attractive.
We have stayed at this hotel many a time and wouldn't book anywhere else. Friendly staff, spacious, clean bedrooms, parking, good location and excellent value for money!!
Quiet, comforable beds, good food very friendly, helpful and professional staff.
The ONLY fault is a tired shower curtain.Perhaps needs changing more often?
Good room, location is not the best however free parking and not far from city
The whole thing. The room was a good size. Beds were comfy. Clean bathroom and shower. Free wi-fi. About 15 mins from train station or town centre.
....the curtains? Nothing really.
Modern décor Good large and well equipped room Free parking free wifi
annoying aircon fan buzzing even when switched off at night. Couldn't turn out all lights until you take door key card out which is a bit daft when you have to walk back to bed in pitch black Litter outside entrance Not much of a view Empty mini bar Better for business
Nice staff, very helpfull, fairly nice hotel. Very close to some lovely countryside.
Location not great, hotel is in a run down area. Beds and pillows could of been better
Good location + parking available which is a bonus. Staff are lovely and helpful.
Was given a room with disabled facilities like stand up shower with a wet room -type area. Hadnt asked for it though.
Welcome on arrival excellent. Staff friendly.
Having to wait to be let in after night out. Very heavy door to room which stuck.
Rooms lots of space. well decorated. Comfy bed great location too.
Friendly staff, clean and well present room with good facilities.
Horrendously noisey hotel right next door to Bramhall Lane which appeared to be hosting some type of weekend Rave that was blasting music until 3am. This was followed by extremely noisey guests slamming doors, running up corridors, laughing, shouting and screaming on and off until 5am without a security guard or CCTV camera in sight. It's a good couple of miles outside of the city centre and given The Copthorne's good reputation in Newcastle I was confident of a relaxing and settled nights rest. Sadly we should've just booked a cheap travel inn above a night club. A very disappointing way to spend a night in Sheffield celebrating my girlfriends birthday.
smartness of the lobby area and bedroom
shower curtain rather past its sell-by-date. Quilt too thick for summer use
The service, drunk football fans at the bar and restaurant Kids running around screaming when you are eating, The food was bland
The afternoon and evening staff were wonderful.
Morning staff seemed a little quiet and lets say misarable after the staff from the day before it set a high standard. The beds was dipping in the middle and the quilts was all lumpy so i took mine out and had just the cover over me.
The hotel was very clean
The noise created by other guests which wasn't addressed by any staff members. Was kept awake from 2.30-6.30, so really not very happy with this aspect.
Staff were really friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and spacious and the bed was really comfy. Breakfast was fantastic also.
I can't think of anything I didn't like.
As tile suggests the hotel is modern, clean and comfortable.
Stayed Saturday, kept awake by people coming back very late and talking outside rooms.
I have stayed at this hotel quite a few times now and I absolutely love it. Very lovely hotel and the staff are nice too. Great location not too far from local shops. Beds are comfortable. Bathroom are lovely too
Room service can be tricky sometimes especially when the football is on next door. I ordered room service once and didn't get any service even though I called and checked twice! So gave up and went to the local shops. They could have said they were busy. I had to cancel it myself.
