Friendly and attentive bar and restaurant staff. Pleasant design and excellent location. No plug anywhere near the hospitality tray in the room. The only power point near the desk was not working and so I had to crawl under the TV table to plug the kettle in and make my coffee sitting on the floor. Wi-fi not available in the standard rooms, but "free" in superior rooms. Hardly "free" if that means you have to pay an extra £40 a night to be able to work in your room. Having free wi-fi in public rooms is neither here nor there if you need to work. There was a computer available in reception for £1 for ten minutes but this was in a public situation so anyone using it had no privacy from people passing through reception. This sort of penny pinching is irritating in a four star hotel. |

Although they didn't have a record of our booking the check in went surprisingly smooth and the receptionist took our details from our confirmation letter. The location was very central but wasn't noisey and easy to get to either by road or rail. The breakfast was good value for money. The decor a bit dated in the bedroom and bathroom, ripped carpets not enough tolietries only one between two of us sharing the room. |

excellent location right in the city center. parking under the hotel at £10 per 24 hours.Easy to find. Good for functions. I went with my daughters for a girly shopping trip but have been with my husband for business. My twin room did not have a mirror at the dressing table. Bath a bit dated. Cost of breakfast £15 each way to dear. Yhere is a weatherspoons next door so recommend that for breeakfasts at £4 |

I was generally pleased with my stay at this Hotel. There are only two points I would wish to make: The spaces in the car park are very 'tight' for larger cars (I have a Peugeot 407) and are only really suited for small cars, 4 x 4s would be an impossibility! The other point is that for a 4 star, the rooms are now requiring some updating and the bathrooms are in urgent need of replacement. Apart from these points I found the Hotel lived up to it's star rating. |

Location - at the end of Broad Street, where restaurants and nightlife are. Full english breakfast is very good and staff is friendly and responsive. Even though I had some problems with my first room, the necessary attention was given to solve all the problems fastly - except for the internet access. Room furniture is old-style but in good shape. The first room I got was noisy (facing Broad Street) and the radiator wasn't working, so I froze during the night. I decided to make some tea then and the kettle was filthy, and found out that housekeeping had forgotten their rubber gloves in the bathroom, which was quite annoying. In the morning, I was quickly transferred to a better room (facing the front of the hotel), which was silent, warm and clean. Internet didn't work for days and the hotel was very slow to sort this out. |

hotel was in good location, rooms were clean and comfortable. corridors and communal areas are looking a bit shabby and in need of refurb. only paid £50 for the room which was good value however the std room rate is £155 which would be laughable if you were daft enough to pay it. |

Location of hotel was excellent and very central to all amenities. Staff at the hotel were excellent, very friendly and helpful, they really seem to care that their guests have an enjoyable stay. Bed was very uncomfortable and room was very basic for a 4 star hotel. However still great value for money. |
