Large car park. Good sized room with very nice view over the man made lake. Good location for events in Cardiff, but far enough from city centre to be fairly peaceful. King sized bed was two singles pushed together, so not very comfortable due to ridge in the middle. Light over dressing table did not work and other lights in the room were energy saving bulbs, so poor lighting and one bulb in the bathroom didn't work, so poor light in there also. On checking out, they tried to charge me several pounds more than the price I had booked with Booking.com. It is very embarrassing to have to 'haggle' in reception! Fortunately I had printed the email out which Booking.com had sent, so I was able to prove the price I had booked at! Breakfast was very expensive! |

Very convieniently situated for the city centre park & ride service with good access to local retail and resturants and pubs The mini bars had been removed from the rooms we had booked and the prices in the resturant and bar were exessive |

Room service was quick and conveneint as I arrived late and the restaurant had closed No air conditioning in the room. heating was a primitive radiator and room to cold. A min-bar should be provided in a business class hotel |

It was very nice to be able to attend the threatre diner whilst staying at the hotel, the staff was very nice, would like to know when any offers come again to stay at the copthorne. It would off been nice to be able to booked two nights stay with yourshelves instead of have to make two seperate bookings. |

SPA facilities were good. Friendly Staff. However, Reception desk needs to be staffed with personnel having knowledge on Bookings made through agency. She was hesitant and not sure that she could accommodate us with one more child since reservations was for 2 adults. Eventually had to be sorted out by more senior staff. |

The comfort (particularly the pillows and quilts), parking. On arrival we were not on their computer system and had not been booked in. They managed to find us rooms but both had twin beds not doubles (not a problem generally but rooms were only kitted out for one person not two). |

The hotel was good, everyone was helpful upon arrival Other than this the hotel was perfect for this trip however during the stay we asked for internet. After calling reception 4 times I still didn't have the internet which costs £20 per 24 hours. It was a little extortionate on the internet side, especially when mcdonalds down the road were offering free wifi! |

I had a mixed expereince at the Copthorne Cardiff Hotel. Using booking.com I seemed to get a good deal: a King/Club room at a very discounted rate. However, when I booked in I was allocated a standard room and the staff seemed unwilling to move me even though I could prove with my booking confirmation that I had reserved a superior room. It was interesting though that the King and Standard rooms seemed to be almost identical apart from some extras - free water, chocolates and access to an internet connection at a cost - which I had great difficulty getting delivered to my room. The member of staff who did finally address the issue for me was however charming and very helpful. I'm certainly very glad that I didn't pay the full price. I's decor is quite dated and whilst the pictures on its website make it look set in a rural location it is in fact on a large roundabout backing onto a retail park. |

I genuinely think this is a really nice hotel. The public areas are light and very pleasant, with a nice vista over the small lake. It's in a handy spot, within close proximity for the city, Penarth, the vale of Glamorgan, St Fagans and the M4. The rooms are comfortable, well equipped and light. My criticisms are that you can occasionally be unlucky if you are allocated a room below ground level - they lack privacy if at the front of the hotel. You have to keep the curtains closed or you are likely to be eyeballed by passers by directly into your room! In addition, whilst really like the hotel, the rooms are in need of refurbishment as they're a little kicked about. It's worth noting that the drinks are a little on the pricey side - quite usual for hotels I suppose. |

I thought that the staff and hotel facilities were polite and helpful and the facilities were very good. Wouldn't class it as a luxury hotel due to its location but a very good hotel anyway. |
