Good food excellent spa facilities
Spa facilities; jacuzzi, sauna, steam and pool all very good. Nice bar area to sit and relax and enjoy a bottle of wine. Room advice - upgrade to a club room.
Room service Comfort Large bed
pool gym all the rooms beers parking
There was no wifi for the duration of the stay
We stayed as a family for my sons wedding. The staff were so helpful. A big thank you to them for all their help and genuine friendliness
Beautiful setting and hotel.
Not enough tea and coffee in room.
Our bedroom was near to the bar area, I observed when we entered the room. I returned to reception and said I would prefer a room further away. The receptionist initially said there were no other rooms; but after some silence, offered to move us further away, which was greatly appreciated. Breakfast was also EXCELLENT!
Very busy the Saturday night we stayed. But the new (reallocated) room was quiet enough.
The staff are very friendly, free parking and good location
Rooms could do with a re-do. A bit old looking and dated.
The hotel is in a convenient location close to major routes and parking is free. There are a couple of fast food establishments near by.
I arrived on the sunday evening to find the restaurant closed and had to order from the bar menu. I opted for the burger, because that is what I fancied. The burger did not come with chips so there I ordered as a side, total cost was nearly 18 pounds!! for a mediocre burger, not impressed with the price at all, should have been closer to 12 pounds and include the chips, I dont mind paying a little extra for the convenience of being in a hotel, but I don't like being ripped off.
The dinner was very good. It was well prepared, cooked and presented. Well done Chef.
The room was of a fair size as with the bed, but was a little on the firm side,
Due to party bookings was unable to eat in the restaurant Saturday evening. Sunday breakfast was a bit manic, had to wait for fried eggs which were swimming in oil and sausages were under cooked. The hotel could do with a good spring clean.
Location , staff and amenities.
Hotel needs an upgrade as the rooms are the same as they were 10 years ago.
Welcoming check in staff. As far as hotel gyms go this is reasonably equipped, friendly staff. The bed was comfortable, the room big enough and reasonably sized bathroom(with bath!).
Long wait for check in and charge for internet.
Bar staff were very attentive. Bar meal arrived very quickly and was of a very high standard.
Restaurant was so slow. We booked a room for two but only got one bath towel, not good at all. Poor housekeeping.
Booked hotel for an overnight stay in Cardiff. It says on the website 10 minute walked to the city centre. It's actually about 6 miles and £20 each way in a taxi
The room was excellent. Spa and swimming pool just what you need. Breakfast perfect
Breakfast was tasty.
No free wifi, which is unacceptable these days. In Scotland, where I live, I have never stayed in a Hotel or B&B where there has been no wifi, and automatically expect it these days. Also, would have liked two bath towels and two pillows, just like Travelodge do, and the restaurant a bit more upmarket; a mug, knife fork and spoon holding down a napkin so small it wouldn't even cover one knee is as bad as the worst greasy spoon cafe.
attitude of staff
Room too hot even with windows open during a mild night. Settee/sofa bed too deep to sit on comfortably.
That pets are allowed and you still get decent rooms.
It would be good if wifi was free as most people use wifi
All staff were really friendly and helpful and the hotel was lovely. Will definitely return
Just the bathmat but they promised to bin it!
Rooms are good size and well appointed.
Our room(214) had a car park light right outside our window so we had to keep the curtains closed all night. The twin beds are just too narrow for comfort - another 6" wide would be fine, but I doubt this will be considered. There is plenty of room to accomodate.
pool and gym bar room was brillant
Service, atmosphere, breakfast and lounge bar food
Nothing to dislike
Pool, but sadly I was too busy to use it. No queuing at breakfast or for check-out Staff were all helpful and positive
Lack of free wifi felt old fashioned, as did the hollowfill duvet and pillows
