I loved the interiors and the lake side view to the Hotel. The staff was very accommodating. It is amazing for a weekend stay. I wished my husband and me stayed longer at Copthorne! Its a beautiful hotel with lovely staff and a gorgeous view!
This is a clean and comfortable hotel with friendly and helpful staff.
The carpet and furniture in the communal areas is shabby and needs replaced and updated.
Booked this hotel due to a major sporting event taking place. Booking in process was chaos. Should have been in room by 2pm, unable to gain access until 3:30. Bus to event leaving at 3:30. Fortunately the drive waited for us and others, however, unable to use room to change or get comfortable prior to leaving for event.
No breakfast with accom paid good money only disappointing issue
Nice size room. Well decorated. Good value. Very friendly.
Not the hotels fault but taxi to Cardiff was £15! No food available late at night.
Superb idea to arrange coach to and from Millenium Stadium for the big games...makes the hotel even more of an attraction...well done.
The staff were very friendly and engaging throughout my stay and always looking to assist me in any way they could.
Excellent weekend will return.

No free Wifi
The bed (two singles stuck together). The WiFi. The fire alarm going off at 12.15am for no reason. No hot water when trying to have a shave.
Friendly Reception personnel Lakeside view
Lack of heating in room.
Nice location, handy for the bus to Cardiff. Close to St Fagans museum.
The free wifi was not very good and the room we were in was close to reception and bar so a little noisy.
Location for my purpose, ample parking clean and comfortable rooms and good breakfast
The dated and shabby furniture needs up dating. It is stuck in the 1980's
Location easy to get to
The food was terrible and expensive in the main restaurant 1 couple we met in the bar refused to pay for it I booked twin rooms but all three rooms were double had to get them all changed Not impressed
I think an Hotel of this calibre should provide free wifi for their guests
ambience and facilities were very good. Helpful reception staff and rooms were well maintained and clean.
Service was slow. Seriously understaffed for room service and very poor response to calls to room service and house keeping
all of it
paying for wifi
Bit surprised on arrival that, having booking a room with breakfast included, we were informed that a full breakfast cost an extra £8.95 on top, which was not made clear at all when booking. When booking a room with breakfast included (especially at these prices!),we have never before come across this. Also, the wifi is not included in the room price and is charged extra, nor was there any information in the room as to how much these charges were or the times of breakfast, swimming pool hours etc.
comfy big bed, the spa, the restaurant, the staff, free parking
decor is a bit dated
the location was good and the hotel seemed to cater for all types.
The service from the staff was not of a standard you would expect from a hotel with this grading. The bar staff were slow and forgetful. The reception staff were however professional in their approach
room was very good clean very comfortable food was average for this type of hotel
Price of drinks far to high drove us out of hotel to eat and drink Breakfast again was to expensive again drove us out to Macdonalds to eat which is just across the road
Lovely comfy bed, really huge too. Delicious and plentiful breakfast.
Had to wait at the bar but it was extremely busy that evening.
Reception staff were excellent, also housekeeping. We chose the hotel for location.
Came to breakfast at 9.30 am. On the first morning the Yoghurts were out of date, I reported this to the waitress who took mine away. I later spoke with a member of the kitchen staff who removed the 11 other outdated yoghurts and brought me a fresh one. The first day the food was generally dried up. The bread for the toaster was not covered and no tongs to handle the slices. The fresh bread was not covered and no serviette to hold when cutting. Three business people complained and by the weekend the breakfast had improved considerably. Gave one the impression that weekends are for a different clientele. I don't know whether or not we will use the hotel again.
Breakfast was ok
Dated, tired looking hotel. The tap in the bathroom was broken and we were told it could only get fixed the following day, which is when we checked out. The standard of cleaning was low, there were only one towel in the double room. Only one person behind the bar serving on a Saturday night resulting in a very long wait.
