Very hospitable staff polite and helpfull breakfast very good no complaints at all email any discounts for next year possibly november

Good Location for central Newcastle. Easy parking. Helpful staff.

Room was pretty poor - tiny twin beds which were badly worn and in need of replacement. Light bulbs missing and despite repeated attempts to call we could not get any response when calling reception. We felt the price was very steep for a hotel room not much better than a budget hotel.

We really enjoyed the professionalism and pleasantness of the staff

The staff were nice, location pretty good. The pool & Sauna were free & ok.

The internet was £1 for 10 minutes, but it was a cheep coin operated setup & any website you wanted to find was unavailable!!! The pool changing rooms could do with a refurb.

With convenient parking it is centrally situated with great view. Swimming pool a plus.

Clean, reasonable anticipated standard. decent gym and pool.

Room was not ready when we arrived after a long journey (2.30pm) had to wait til 4.00 pm Jacuzzi was not working Showers in sauna/steam room not working No light in sauna pool area only half lit

Good location - we came for a concert at the Metro Arena and it was less than 10 minutes walk from the hotel. The city centre is also within walking distance. The room was very large and from the floor to ceiling window we had a nice view of the river.

The hotel has a business atmosphere and feels rather cold. I was most disappointed with the service and staff attitude. When we checked in, we were asked for our name straight away without any greetings. No explanations regarding hotel facilities. We booked a twin bedroom, but got a double. The bed was fairly small and not very comfortable. When we asked for singled duvets, we were told they would be put in our room whilst we are at dinner, however we had to chase them up again before we got them. The room was very dark and has very little lighting. The decor is old and outdated. I was disappointed - the hotel certainly doesn't feel like a 4* and is well over priced for what you are getting.

Room was extremely hot & air conditioning didn't work. Long queues at reception & staff not paticularly friendly or helpful.

The quayside location is excellent

Breakfast wasn't exceptional. The hotel is starting to look a bit worn Staff very pleasant

We love the location of the hotel and the first time round we loved the whole experience - the staff were great and the room was amazing. However on this occassion we did not enjoy our stay.

We stayed at the Copthorne a few years ago and loved the experience. We were in a big room and staff were very promt. This is why we chose to go back, there even tho it is out of our price range for hotels, it was a bit of a treat for us after having our little girl. However when we did arrive we had to wait nearly two and a hours for our room and even then it was not waht we expected. It was a much smaller room than we had had before. We were very disapointed with our experience here and are not sure if we would stay here again.
