The location of the hotel was excellent, being close to the city and the station and the quayside. The room was lovely. The batteries in everything needed replacing! In the tv remote and the internet keyboard. |

We have stayed at thia hotel before and love the location. The pool and sauna is a real treat and the food is always very good. We stayed in one of the more expensive rooms but no breakfast was included. Come on Copthorne, what would a couple of pieces of toast cost to keep people coming back. |

I loved the room shape and decoration - it had a sloping ceiling and a view over the Tyne - I could see 3 bridges from my window! |

I thought the staff were very friendly and accommodating when requests were made. I would have preferred the tarrif to have been on a Bed & Breakfast rate. |

Living flame fire in lobby was a nice touch, view was fantastic and breakfast was good. Fairly tired room with little in the way of extra facilities, magazines, good quality information on hotel facilites and mini-bar/refreshments. I thought it was extremely expensive for a single occupancy room, £94.00, and surprised that breakfast wasn't included. Clean enough although veneer on bath surround was scraped. I left without being given invoice for room, ( given invoice for newspaper and breakfast only ), and am more than a little irritated that despite two phone calls, I haven't got a copy yet so I can claim back on expensives. Disappointed that hotel has gone down hill a bit since I used it for leisure purposes soon after it opened. |

Copethorne in a good location, food good, bed comfortable, however decor is very dated and worn out. Staff excellent. Rooms need updating |

All the staff were very obliging and pleasant from the reception onwards and the room had a good view across the river Tyne. The bedside lamp was not working. The Saturday breakfast was poorly set out - the hot breakfast was difficult to manage, there was one toaster that took for ever, the public areas were very cold indeed and the bedroom took a long time to get up to a reasonable temperature: it was cold. |

Fantastic walking distance to city centre yet quiet location. On booking I noted in comments we were celebrating our wedding anniversary and we got a complimentary room upgrade on check in. Very nice reception staff! The leisure facilities are in need of an upgrade, just small details like showers in changing rooms faulty and cold. |

Stayed in the Connoisseur Rooms - good river view - comfortable extra wide double bed - Quiet (no disturbances from Sat night drunken revellers) Small fridge in room very useful. Bathroom needed a refurb and had black mould around the bath. Access to pool and spa was either down a lot of steps which I was unable to manage, or out of the front entrance and round the corner in the rain. Breakfast OK but definitely not worth £15.75. Were not supplied the advertised bathrobes. |

Staff were courteous and service was prompt. Room was comfortable with nice view of river. Location of hotel was excellent for access to city centre. Although close to city centre, the location of the hotel meant that there was no disturbance at night from revellers. |

The location on the quayside is excellent. The gym, pool, sauna etc were excellent. Ridiculously expensive breakfasts. We went next door to the Lloyds No 1 Bar where we got three cooked breakfasts for the price of one breakfast in the hotel. |

Uncomfortably warm. Air con didn't seem to make any difference. The hotel needs to be refurbished. Quite tatty in places. The smallest double bed I have ever slept in. Reception staff friendly and efficient, the staff in restaurant unnecessarily slow. |
