the hotel is in a very good location close to all the amenities and sights. The staff were very friendly and obliging and the rooms were above average size conveying a sense of luxury. The food was overpriced and the bar was poorly stocked i.e no cocktails available and nobody with the necessary knowledge to make one. |

The location was Ideal. The room was spacious and well equiped, including a huge comfortable bed. The restaurant menu was poor, trying to be ultra modern and failing. Loin of pork wrapped in salami is not my idea of fine dine. The bar menu was used and the quality of cooking was poor, raw and very overcooked veg on the same plate. The meal at Close House last week was fabulous. |

Pleasant room with good view. The room was also very clean. We had a good night's sleep as there was no noise from other rooms or doors slamming. The decor is looking rather tired and needs to be refurbished. Doors were scuffed and paintwork chipped. Whilst we were in the bar there was a terrible smell and we asked for the door to be opened. The barman said that it was from the dishwasher and clearly this needs urgent attention. |

We enjoyed our stay very much. Staff great, room brilliant with a fantastic view of the Tyne. It was the best hotel for the Arena but equally it would be great for shopping and sightseeing in the surrounding area. Although it was only one night we thought it good value. |

The location was fantastic as we went to see a show at the radio arena. The rooms were really nice but very dark, not enough lighting. There was only one bedside lamp. The swimming pool was freezing (i think it would have been warmer in the river outside). The showers by the sauna and steam room didnot work. |

The staff at the front desk are very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast is very good but a bit on the expensive side. The proximity to the Quayside is obviously a good feature. The noise from the Metro trains crossing the bridge nearby is an obvious problem. The hotel has a somewhat dark and cold feel about it. The hotel doesn't 'shine'. |

The copthorne is in a great location for a shopping trip and to visit the quayside in Newcastle, The restuarant is very good and looks out onto the quayside.Well worth a visit. We have stayed at this hotel many times this time I do think the standard is slipping, The taps in the bathroom were very hard to switch on and off and they dripped all night , The heating was poor as it was very cold we waited 35mins for a cooked breakfast one morning. |

great location which is the main reason we stay at the hotel. The hotel does need a freshen up. We have been staying here for several years and it doesnt appear to have changed much. Breakfast far too expensive and not very good. |

Location at Quayside was superb especially river view and handy for city centre Room was a bit cold, as was bar area. Staff weren't especially friendly and certainly didn't reflect the friendliness of the city at large. |

The rooms were comfortable and clean The bar service! Being unable to get a hot drink or hot food after 10.30pm is ridicules. But what was more ridicules was the explanation given for this by staff 'the coffee machine makes too much noise and disturbs the guests above'. Ridicules as there was a disco party playing very loud in the function room! I have stayed in many hotels around the world, of all classification, and I have always been able to get hot food and drinks served anytime day or night. |

The cleanliness and comfort of the rooms was very good. Staff friendly and helpfull. We used the gym during the stay but would like a better gym. Prefer hotels when advertising the use of a gym would like it to be more equipped for a full gym experience. |

All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. We were able to leave our bags at the hotel after checking out to attend our daughter's graduation and that made our day so much easier. |

Hilton Newcastle Gateshead is 10 minutes' walk from the city centre and overlooks the River Tyne. Dine on international cuisine and sip cocktails in Windows on the Tyne restaurant. |
Jurys Inn Newcastle is ideally located in the heart of Newcastle's city centre. Just a short stroll from the main shopping and commercial centres, the Inn is perfectly placed. |
With a superb location in the heart of Newcastle's city centre, this well-placed hotel is a short walk from Newcastle Central Railway Station and many shops. |
In the heart of Newcastle city centre, adjoining the central train station and Metro system, Royal Station Hotel is very well located and has an indoor swimming pool and free Wi-Fi. |
