The hotel was very well situated to the main centre of plymouth and the hoe the hotel was clean and very well laid out with carparking underneath the hotel at a cost of £6 per day . The room was spacious the bed comfortable. The best feature of the room was the bathroom probably one of thebest bathrooms weve had when away The hotel staff (reception) were unfriendly and not very helpful when checking in and out although the evening reception staff were very accomodating. The breakfast wasnt included in the price we paid but to purchase a breakfast there cost 13:95 per person which was excssive and unreasonable for what we could see was on offer, The bedroom compliamentary coffee and tea didnt include biscuits, which we asumed was due to the cheaper price we paid for the room as we noticed biscuits on the cleaner's trolley in the morning

My 23 yr old daughter & I stayed last Saturday night. We got to the hotel at 12 and were delighted that we could leave our suitcase prior to check-in. Again next day our train home was not till 3 but our suitcase was looked after. The reception staff were very warm and friendly. We had a great shopping trip without having to lug our bags around. Brilliant. We will recommend and return. Absolutely nothing.

The fact that trying to find a map of the location was impossable. When I did get a map, it directed me to the Holiday Inn at the opposite end of Armada Way on the Hoe. Fortunatly my freind was at the same hotel and directed me.

The location of the hotel is very good for the city centre. The reception staff were very welcoming. The rooms were nicely furnished. It was a windy night and we were kept awake for most of it by the fire door banging. At breakfast the waitress gave the impression that we were a great inconvenience and we had to ask for everything from the table being cleared to bringing tea and clean cups!!!

Location in city centre, convenient for shopping and theatre. Breakfast finishes early and can be a bit 'Faulty Towers like' in the restaurant.

The staff in the bar & at breakfast were warm, friendly & genuinely welcoming. Having a choice of eggs & individually cooked to order at breakfast was a real plus. Great variety too for breakfast - catering for all tastes. The bed & pillows were very comfortable & plenty of piping hot water was much appreciated. The bedrooms are a tad tired decoratively, but this did not detract from the overall pleasure of our two night break & we would definitely stay again. The Copthorne is in the city centre, so we left our car parked up at the supermarket / hotel ALL weekend - shops, restaurants etc all within walking distance. Well done Team Copthorne... We'll be back! There was some confusion over our booking when we checked in - this was sorted within 10 minutes. Poor lighting in the bathroom. Better ventilation in the bathroom - the door has to be kept closed so not to set the fire alarm off whilst showering - thus it does get very hot & steamy A personal preference for me - to have a removable / variable height shower head rather than fixed to the wall We booked & paid for two night's underground car parking on arrival. However, we went out on our first evening, only to return later & find there were no spaces left = parked on local supermarket car park. This wasn't a problem - but perhaps spaces should be reserved on a first come- first served basis?

From the outside this hotel looks a bit dated! Inside though was a pleasurable experience. Comfy room, friendly staff and a nice breakfast. Would visit again. Only downside was the shower, it was in need of a service.

we booked a romantic weekend away for my partners birthday, we booked a double room but on arrival were told we had a twin room and if we wanted a double we had to upgrade costing us £30, i was really annoyed, didnt upgrade and put me in mood for the whole stay, i certainally wouldnt go back again, on the plus breakfast was good, also on the negative the water that came from the shower stank, we used the bath in the end.

We liked the larger than average bedroom and bathroom. Very comfy bed. Tea/coffee facilities in the room. The Breakfast was excellent. The excellent location of the hotel. Also secure parking. I would recommend this hotel. The only thing we did not like about this hotel was the very hot room, we did put the fan on but was very noisy, we tried opening the window but due to our room facing a very busy road, the traffic noise was really bad.

The staff were friendly, rooms were clean and comfortable and the food was excellent. The city centre location was just fantastic with easy access to the shopping centre and a short walk to the waterfront. There were no spare powerpoints within easy reach of the bed but this applies to most hotels that I have stayed at.

Nice enough, but terribly dated. It was like stepping back 30 years. No air conditioning, no gym (despite what it said on the website), terrible coffee, dated spam-coloured decor, dreary menu. But the staff were very friendly and it couldn't be more convenient for central Plymouth, the University, station and Plymouth Hoe.

Our stay was friendly, we had a warm welcome, and were comfortable. The food at breakfast was very good, we enjoyed it very much, but we had to hunt around for teaspoons, and ask for things we required during breakfast.

Staff were very helpful and polite. I had booked seperately from my parents and phoned before to arrange rooms be close together, which was done and both received a free upgrade for my mums birthday. Upgrade room was lovely, overlooking park area in front of hotel, bathrobes, slippers etc and nice toiletries. Used the small hotel gym, which could be accessed at any time. It had all the equipment I needed - treadmill, crosstrainer etc. Breakfast very good with a good choice of food. Definately would stay again. Drinks a bit pricey at the bar!

Very central to Plymouth city centre and surrounding areas, also close to Barbican so a good choice of restaurants are a walk away. The restaurant and food are a huge disappointment after such a pleasant hotel and fall far below expectations.

Its convenient and in a very good location and close to the university where we can visit our daughter. unfortunately whilst staying with you this time we experienced some loud and unprofessional behaviour in the bar by some men who were from solar heating? We weren't the only ones to be offended by their behaviour some other people actually got up and left the bar.
