Good location, good value.

As we only stayed one night this is a snapshot, the reception staff were very good and also helped us with clear directions as to the venue of the Vintage and Retro fair we were showing at. The breakfast staff were also excellent.

Still don't understand the £9 "Authorisation Fee" since we were also paying for carparking, I was assured this would not appear on the final credit card bill

Central location, clean room well serviced

Worn out bed, inconvenience due to lack of parking facilities and needing to buy tickets in supermarket car park next door.

The location was really handy for the railway station and for visiting Plymouth University Open Day. The staff were really friendly and helpful.

The hotel room is quite dated and shower basic for a four star hotel, but clean and fine for one night stay.

My friend and I were in Plymouth for a reunion and the hotel was excellent in terms of central location and also near to the railway station (where I met my friend). Great value and surprisingly quiet given the location. Got one of the few parking spaces right outside the front.

Cost of parking space but then again given it was for almost 24 hours £6 wasn't too bad.

Breakfast was a bit rubbish

I booked a club double room for 3 nights in december 2012 so I was disappointed to be allocated a standard room on my first night and a club twin for the next two nights. Whilst the hotel only charged me for a standard room it did little towards addressing the fact that I did not get what I booked even though it had been done some time ago.

The staff were excellent ..... The room was basic but very clean and efficient . Breakfast was lovely with a varied choice of foods . Fantastic stay would defiantly stay again !!!!!

There was no lift from the underground car park to the hotel ... As I had a baby it was really Awkward to get the pram and suitcases up the flight of stairs .

I got a really good deal on my room so it was good value for money. But I wouldn't pay any more and I wouldn't stay there if I planned to spend any time in the hotel, or if I was on a romantic week-end away for example. It is functional but that's about it.

Lukewarm water in the shower Poor tv reception The strong smell of cigarette smoke despite it being a non-smoking hotel. When I complained the duty manager didn't take my complaint seriously and nothing was done to try to enforce the no-smoking rule. Very small car park

Reception staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was comfortable. Complimentary drinks in the fridge.

Restaurant staff was unhelpful and abrupt. Was woken at 4am by ?porter having telephone conversation outside the room. Room decor was tired and dated.

Secure car park

Shabby room, hotel generally requires refurbishment. Not 4 star. Staff very good but hotel quality below Copthorne standard. Restaurant had limited choice.
