I have been staying in the Copthorne Tara Hotel for over 30 years and I go back out of loyalty. However each time I enter the hotel it is as if I had never stayed there before. I get no recognition for my loyalty and I find the staff cold and unfriendly. There is an exception;- Billy . the concierge. Ella. The waitress. John the waiter. And Liam the waiter who is out through illness at the moment. Those four are 5 star staff, as for the rest they dont qualify for 2 star. I would suggest that the Hotel should give some recognition to regular and long standing customers. God be with the days of Owen Dillon the manager who won awards for the 'Tara' Regards . John p Treacy. Staff unfriendly

Location was good, porters exceptional The room was shabby, broken plug sockets, missing trouser press, broken kettle. Looks like it could do with a renovation as wallpaper was coming off at the bottom

It's close to the Natural History Museum. They suggest that you can get a "Superior Room" for just a little more money. I wouldn't like to see the inferior room!

Near the High Street Kensington Station The room was dirty (dust under the lights for example), very old bathroom. When we arrived, the hotel was unable to give us a superior double room but a room with two separate beds. The exterior of the hotel is not very nice. The curtains are gray and dirty. I was very disappointed.

The hotel is well positioned, the staff on the help desk on the ball and service in the dinning room reasonable.Rooms are clean and the lifts quick and efficent. Booked online, included breakfast and understood we would get a double bed. On arrival told that breakfast was not included, this was later changed when i produced the original booking documents. Room had twin beds, requested to change to a room with a double bed. Told none were available even though it was clear that the hotel was not full and we were there for 4 nights. Receptionists objective was to get us to upgrade at an additional cost of £30 pernight. In our opinion the beds were uncomfortable. In relation to breakfast we would make the following comments. Tea served in large pots is very very poor and often cold.Yogurt served in communal bowls isnt very hygienic and is simply a cost reduction solution from the hotel.THe amount of bacon available at anyone time is off putting and again not hot and appetising.

It is in a good area close to shops buses and underground transport and Hyde park I booked a twin room and the room we were given had two tiny single beds approx 3 foot wide with mattresses that sagged in the middle. When I asked for a room with bigger beds I was told they had none. It was impossible to sleep. The decor was in need of renewal and the bathroom was shabby. Apart from the location it was very unsatisfactory.Definitely not a superior roomas advertised and not a four star hotel standard. The public areas, lobby etc were nice.

I have used this hotel over many years, because of its good location, close to tube system, easy access from Heathrow, secure car parking and internet. My 'superior' room was very tired and badly in need of renovation. There was a strong chemical smell. This was aggravated by the locked shut windows. There's no way this is a 4 star hotel, although I remember when it once was. It is completely unacceptable for any hotel to charge extra for internet access these days - and £15 for 24 hrs (the only option available) is simply exorbitant.

In general, the staff were nice but the restaurant supervisor was surly The room was awful: shabby, old-fashioned and run down. Not value for money. Room was also very dusty and as asthmatics, we both had difficulty breathing. Nothing good to say about accommodation

The Hotel and the rooms and the bathrooms are looking very dated. It really needs a complete refurbishment in order to continue as a 4 star hotel.

I have been guest at Tara in Singapore, and that was an altogether different experience. Tara London is not a bad hotel, and you won’t get your trip to London ruined by choosing this hotel. But don’t expect anything out of the ordinary. The hotel looks a little tired, and didn’t meet my expectation to a 4-star hotel. The internet connection disappeared for almost two days, and the staff never lifted a finger to help solve the problem that caused for my work. A internet service can fail, but the general attitude at this hotel seemed to be that this was “someone else’s problem”. I think the staff at a smaller hotel at least would have cared to direct me to an internet café… Everything else was at a medium level, which is OK, but not considering the price this hotel normally will charge you. Could be that the hotel had some bad days during my stay, and to give you a picture of this. The elevator got a nervous breakdown with us in it. The lift constantly reappeared at one of the upper floors, and never got closer to its destination on ground floor than 5th floor before it insisted to set for 10th floor again. Not a big thing, but it really fits in our general expression of the hotel. We finally had to take the escape stairs, by the way.

Nothing! That was a big mistake This international hotel, doesn't need my custom so will not be unhappy of having loosing! Everything was wrong. We were supposed to be in room 1061 and were changed to room 1040 which is for this price , even in London, a shame and certainly not at the supposed standard! The lift took us down then up then down with nobody waiting for it, the breakfast was a total mess and cherry on the cake internet facility takes your money but does not allow you to surf on the net... Second but last time!!! Was it because of the prices of your company?

Good location/ Reasonable/ Good facilities On my first night, the fire alarm sounded at 5am- I left the room, but Hotel staff did not seem to care if guest left or not- there was noone to check rooms to ensure all guests were accounted for. This was poor and showed a lack of respect for guests

This was my second stay at this hotel and my girlfriends third stay. Staff were friendly, gave us a complimentary upgrade, gave a clear and concise reply to an email sent before arrived. Cleaning staff were very friendly, porters were always on hand to help with baggage. The hotel was very clean, the lifts were fast. Rooms were comfortable, clean and we had a great view of the city. TV had 18 channels and there was WIFI and internet access available if required. Although we didn't use much of the hotels facilities, there was plenty on offer. We used the hotel bar which was relaxing, there is also a gift shop and a coffee shop and more internet access. The location is perfect, 2 minute walk to nearest metro, which on the weekend we stayed was closed for works but beside the station there are 6/7 buses that pass through that go directly to most places of interest, or bring you close to where you need go and very frequent. Plenty of taxis outside hotel. There are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby, and hyde park is a 5 minute walk away. Ideal for a city/shopping trip.

Good location. Close to Kensington Park and metro station. Pretty quiet place if your room windows are opposite side to the railway. Rooms furnishing and cleaning is far from what one normally expects from 4-star hotels. Too dusty, air conditionimg is very poor.

Since my last visit I have noticed that they have updated their TV sets to a wall mount instead of old bulky ones, also the provided lights control bedside. carpets also changed. One draw back is they don't provide complementary internet (cost 15 GBP per night).

Location, and comfort of the room. Tea and coffee were not restocked each day but guest services did give us some (begrudgingly) when we asked for some.

Location of hotel is brilliant. Five minutes from Kensington High Street station, a few nice places close by for breakfast (at £16 per head in hotel, you need alternative), and great selection of shops very close to hotel. Excellent price too.
