The view from the bar, the friendliness of all the staff. The lovely gardens.
Sea view room was overlooking the main road so consequently very noisy. The price of the room was on the dear side for this time of year. Having stayed in hotels all over the UK, surely it is better to have a full hotel in the off peak periods with visitors paying £50 a night for bed/breakfast and a discounted evening meal than having a hotel that is mostly empty. The hotel will tick over with the added bonus of more people in the restaurant and bar spending money. A lot of hotels have adopted this approach, especially in Cornwall. I and many of my friends take advantage of these deals and spend many days in the winter away in these hotels.
the warm, friendly, welcoming atmosphere made our stay a very enjoyable experience. The food was excellent, served in a delightful dining room overlooking the sea.The rooms are clean and well serviced, and perhaps could do with an update, but we would not hesitate to return
Dinner was outstanding with superb service. Very friendly relaxed atmosphere Good live entertainment
There is quite a bit of traffic noise but being on the coastal road that runs the length of the sea front this is inevitable if you want to be close to the sea in this area.
Dinner was very good, most of the staff were excellent.
Our room was shabby to say the least and we had actually been upgraded !! Rooms were not clean, having to fight through the cobwebs to open the window. The shower was terrible, with barely enough water to get wet. Breakfast was cold, with an indifferent reaction from staff, however for the most part the staff were very friendly and obliging. the entire hotel is in need of investment / refurbishment.
the view from the room was good .the breakfast was nice .the fact we could make our own drinks in the room the bathroom was very nice and up to date .
the big dip in the mattress, the fact that the room was dirty.no hot water when you needed it for the shower, the fact that you had to sit or lie on the bed to watch the tele ,the patio furniture sliding around above us at 3 o'clock in the morning when the weather was bad,the guttering was blocked right outside out window, there didn't seem to be an evening menu,i didn't like the fact that they cleared finished breakfast dishes away from the table before everyone had finished , the furniture in the room was shabby ,
Very helpful staff throughout my stay. Happy smiley people
Old fashioned bed
the staff at the reception were very helpful and nice.
the staff in the dinning room were not helpful at all. one morning they left me sitting with no breakfast , as they forgot mine and only brought out mum and dads. next morning it happened again. they took are spoons away before we had finished. my dad asked for some tom sauce and they gave him an empty bottle which they knew was empty. we were never asked if we would like any extra toast, but we heard other guests asked if they would like extra toast. The head waiter never smiled or hardly spoke.so this has put me off coming back to corbyn head hotel.
The room, dirty. The bed, would have been more comfortable sleeping on the floor.Decor very dated.receptionist did offer another room but stay already ruined with lack of sleep.A bit odd was the two lamps but only one lightbulb and the size 16 coat hanger hanging from the curtain.
Location of hotel, close proximity to bus route and harbour
Cleanliness of bathroom facilities ,decor, comfort of beds, and apeal of generally staying in this room. Thank goodness for the little reprieve that we had when going out onto the grubby balcony.
Staff on reception absolutely brilliant - particularly Angie who helped us plan a fabulous day out locally Overlooking bay - sea view. Ideally located for local amenities
Served what is now thought to have been unprepared smoked haddock - same dish seen following morning was completely different. My wife felt rather sick for part of the day - she did not finish the breakfast course. Comment made to reception staff about it who promised to speak to the chef. Bedroom narrow and a little cramped but comfortable - bathroom had not been thoroughly cleaned, including the toilet. Charged higher price for evening meal than indicated on Booking.com itinerary description, (Booking.com very kindly and efficiently obtained a refund - thank-you.) What a pity!
Sea views +civilised service and decor. Snacks were reasonably priced and quickly served and Dinner was delightful. Staff were very accommodating ensuring comfort at all times
Not realising I could access the Hotel from the apartments and having to go past and then return!
Perfekt food Good quality restaurant Nice and helpful personel
Long coridor and dystans to room from reception
Location good facing the bay though being on main road rather noisy. Breakfast was very good and bar staff in the evening attentive. One receptionist helpful the other just not interested.
Bedroom fair except for three large stains on ceiling. I reported this to receptionist who was somewhat incredulous and said she would report it. I cannot really think they don't know. The corridor smells and this is most likely because of the old stained carpet. The hand rail down a few steps was sticky.
Nice staff. Good food. Great location
My mother and I stayed three nights at the Corbyn Head as my sister had been taken seriously ill. The staff went out of their way to look after us. Nothing was too much trouble. The view from the room was amazing and the room was large and comfortable. We had to move on the third night as the room we had initially had been pre-booked but they found us a lovely room and moved all our things while we were out. Room service was excellent. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel.
The shower facilities are poor and there is only internet in the rooms near reception.
Breakfast was well cooked but there was not enough choice for a continental breakfast.Reception is manned adequately . Young staff at breakfast were very attentive.
Bathroom was a nightmare, because the water is scalding, no notice to tell us that. Bath is too high to get in and out of safely. No slip mat either. Shower too small. Dirty black marks on screen round bath. Difficult to turn taps on when standing outside the bath. Noisy room, too near the rail line and road. Dirty marks on stool in front of mirror. Questionable stains on blankets and covers. Dirty guide books and little to tell us about facilities next door to hotel. All in all it was a very expensive stay for such a shabby hotel. The whole place needs gutting. The windows haven`t been cleaned for a long time, both in our room and the main dining rooms. Evening times we found difficult to stay in hotel. The living dead doesn`t cover it!
The hotel was lovely a little quirky place. The room with sea views was very pleasant
The food Breakfast was Ok Dinner was a waste of money starter didn't have any taste (chicken liver pate) Soup (parsnip)was ok. Main course Yorkshire pudding was old and dry meat to red for a roast beef dinner vegetables came on red hot dishes but they were cold. Desert was ok
the bedroom very poor and small very overpriced would not recommend these rooms to my freinds at the back of the hotel.
I was pleasantly surprised at the views from the bar and restaurant, the pool was an added attraction though a bit too cool when I visited to consider a dip. Lovely place to sit with a coffee and book though.
Good parking and lovely views
Wi-Fi was a bit unreliable
extremely well managed reception, and its staff were very friendly and helpful
Friendly and attentive staff. Good location.
Although the hotel decor was a step back to the 70s, we found the friendliness of the staff, the wonderful food and the good nights sleep more than made up for it.
Swimming pool, too small and shallow.
The food, location and most all friendliness and helpfulness of all the staff.
Cold swimming pool and fact it wasn't made clear when booking.
